I saw the article, but it was in Southeast Spain. From what I could tell, it wasn't anywhere near Barcelona. They also said that the earthquake itself was not that strong, but the damage was primarily caused by the lack of earthquake retrofitting on the older buildings and masonry.

We got to the port at 9:30 last year. We were on the ship around noon with a #2 boarding card.

I got to the port last year around 12:30 and was on by 1.

Last, earthquake was not felt in Barcelona....this via my friends in BCN.

Don't be afraid to do the tours on your own!!!!!

Also, be sure to do your documents before you get to the cruise port - if you do them online print them out.... even if you do it online they have some dummies that won't let you thru...

We live in the UK so I think it will be a short while till we receive ours but it is nice to know they have been sent!!

What exactly do you get in your cruise documentation (this is my first cruise!!)

On our last cruise the person in charge of the FE posted a list on their cabin door, changes to cabin numbers were on it. Maybe we can do that if anyone is willing....

What exactly do you get in your cruise documentation (this is my first cruise!!)

It's a spiral bound book with a summary of anything you pre arranged, your flight info if you've entered it online and general info. Your luggage tags are also included.

Just wondering were you "regular" GTY or did you have one of the new booking categories (like VGT)? I'm wondering if the new booking categories are going to be the last to get assigned.

I had a booking comparable to the VGT It was a travel agent discount in a 5C guarantee but works the same way. Had to be paid in full, no cancellations, changes, etc. Received a 5C stateroom assignment no upgrade for me

One other option for those who don't have their stateroom(s) assigned is to fill them in at the 3:30 CruiseMeet in the Promenade Lounge. That's what we did last year and it worked out great.

Did anyone see that Mt. Etna, the volcano on Siciliy, erupted today? There is video on Yahoo News. Neither strikes, nor earthquakes, nor volcanoes will keep DCL from sailing!

they are still waiting on some of the May cruises for these new categories to be assigned

they are offering, and we were told we may not get a room until a week before sailing. We got our tags for our baggage, but not room on them. Hope there is no problem for them to get to our stateroom.
I am working on the FE gifts now! I came up with a cute idea.

Yeah! UPS just dropped off a box from ABD!!

In the box there were 3 ABD backpacks (a smaller one for dd 9) and a detailed itinerary!!

We leave one month from tomorrow for Barcelona! I'm getting excited!

The ABD itinerary is AMAZING!!

Here is what they added for Palermo:

Enjoy lunch with fresh ingredients along the Mediterranean Sea

Take part in a hands-on cultural experience in the city (hmm, wonder exactly what this is?!)

Adults' dinner and wine experience in Palo

Can't wait for this adventure to begin!
