June 18, 2010 - WONDERful Waverun - Bahamas 4-Night

Hope everyone is doing well. We are on the downside of the last quarter of school and things are always busy this time if year. Patrick is finishing his 9 credits of grad work (in addition to full-time and part-time jobs). I am getting over a cold and feeling human again. Counting the days until fun in the sun!

Time is sure flying by!

DS and I are at the 7 week mark now for the first cruise. Starting to plan how to put two cruises worth of FE gifts in with the luggage!

On our last cruise, it was up to each stateroom how they wished to participate. Some examples:

One stateroom decided on just one gift for the entire stateroom.
Another stateroom got smaller items for each room and delivered 3-4 times.

We did it differently, buying something small for each person (even kids), bagging and tagging them, and then delivering randomly throughout the cruise.

We're still finalizing how we're participating this year, since we're doing both FE's. We're hoping we'll be able to do something similar to last year (as long as we have the room!).

2 updates:

1) TOMORROW IS THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FE EXCHANGE!!
Right now we're looking at just the 5 people/staterooms that are on the spreadsheet who are taking part. If anyone else wants in let me know posthaste!!!

2) With regard to WRISTBANDS: The vendor called me and was concerned about the message reading on the glow in the dark bands so I gave them the okay to go ahead and switch to the dark green youth bands to match the adult bands. They arrived today and they look GREAT. Shoot me an email with your addresses and I'll get them in the mail to you!

Hi everyone! Well, we missed the FE deadline. I still hadn't decided because of our stateroom situation. We're all split up between 3 cabins - kids in each one. Anyways, I wasn't sure how that would work and I didn't want people to have to buy for 3 cabins.... that's ok. I'm sure you all will have a blast with it!
However, I do hope to run into some of you during the cruise.
Laura, my daughter, Nicole, did a FB invite to your son. She keeps asking me if I let you know about that. I hope they will be able to meet. She's concerned about meeting kids her age.
As it gets closer, I'm getting a little panicky about planning but not overplanning our WDW days after the cruise. I know it's going to be a crazy
crowded time. My family of 4 has done the parks several times, but I'm trying to make it a positive experience for my brother and his 2 kids. Do any of you use the planning and/or itinerary tools?
We are renting a house very close to the parks for 5 days following the cruise. That will help with cost and relaxing down time.
Back to the cruise, since everyone besides the 6 and 4 year old have been to Nassau, we are considering not getting off the ship that day. Is that crazy? Have any of you ever skipped a port day? I would think the ship would be much less crowded and we could take full advantage of the pools, etc.
How close is the straw market from where the ship docks? Would it be safe for my SIL and I to do a quick trip into the market for some cheap trinkets for the kids?
Sorry for the random questions.... Wow! Can't believe it's only 7 weeks away!

I just this second asked Keegan if someone named Nicole had sent a friend request. He said yes and I told him to friend her and what the situation was. He's a good kid and knows that I must approve all friends before he does so he hadn't confirmed her yet. Later tonight or tomorrow, I'll make sure he gets on and does that. We will be at WDW after the cruise too. Staying a off the park grounds as well. My MIL has that info, so I don't know exactly where we are going to be.

Sorry I've been away from the boards Been a bit hectic around here!

Laura-we are doing Parasailing at 9 am (and I need to check Piper into Scuttle's 8:30 first) so I won't be able to do the 5k with you guys I still am debating whether to bring workout clothes at all!

So is the FE list set now? Is it just the 5 families??

Im new to this particular thread, and I'm confused. If we are all going on the Disney Wonder on June 18th, why do some ot the tickers say 1 month 6 days, 1 month 9 days and mine is 1 month 11 days, I believe. Aren't we all going on the same day?

Unlike everyone else, I have no idea which date I put in - the date we're going to Florida, the date we're going to Disney World or the date we're getting on the ship!

Please send good thoughts my way. This trip was to celebrate my mom being cancer free. Well today we found out that she has an abnormal "something" in the front left of her brain. She is very scared. She just beat lung cancer, so we were all hoping that she was done.

I am hopeful that we can go on this trip, but I won't know more until she meets with her doctors this week.

Hi all!

I've sent out wristbands to Tracie and Jess, but still need addresses from Drew and Laura.

Also, do any of you have pet allergies? I've been considering a chinchilla as my FE gift...seriously, great deal and it can stand in as a mouse...especially since with more fur it's kinda cuter. No offense to Mickey of course.

Either that or a miniature camel in honor of Aladdin...being from Vegas, the Aladdin has always held a spot in my heart...directly next to the heartburn that is...

Although, I hear that camel 'leavings' can be a pain to clean...

Anyway, still brainstorming. Again - let me know about the allergies.

I am not going on the cruise. My mom was diagnosed with brain cancer yesterday. I am in the process of trying to move the date instead of losing all of the money I paid. I told her that we will go on a cruise once she is better. I feel like I am living in some bad soap opera.

I am sad that I won't get to meet you all. Thank you for your support. Most importantly, Have a great time! Spend time with your loved ones and count your blessings.

Jeremy, I will mail you some money for the wrist bands.
