FE group, let's do this! I will take on keeping the list for a FE. I will keep this very simple. Please post staeroom number, names of all in your party, kid's ages and any food allergies. My family posting looks like this:

I've been scheduling private excursions for most of my ports but was planning on using DCL for Norway.

What companies are you using? Have you had past experience with them or did you choose by referral? We do a lot of ports on our own, but I have looked into some outside tours with some of our longer days. The tours I have looked at do not seem to be much cheaper for our family.

I don't think they are cheaper but since they are private, I feel better about the prices. We are using Extreme Iceland for all days there. I've booked Orkney Aspects for Kirkwall as well as Newcastle City tours for that port. That just leaves Norway which I think I will use DCL for those - actually, might not do a planned tour in Bergen.

Thanks for the info. Since the kids are still fairly young, I think they like the DCL port adventures, and the fact that there are usually other kids to meet. We are enjoying Bergen on our own, as well.

here's something I did for my kids for each city we visited: secret agent game. I got the idea from a prior DCL--don't know if they still do it.

Rosenborg Slot is another royal palace with grand ballrooms and reception halls that look like Cinderella’s castle.Hans Christian Andersen wrote many fairy tales. He wrote "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", "The Snow Queen", "The Little Mermaid", "Thumbelina", "The Little Match Girl", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Red Shoes". He lived in Copenhagen and was much loved by the childern.Tivoli Gardens is the second oldest amusement park in the world. It has more than rides though with a Chinese pagoda and flower gardens.
Look For: Queen Margrethe II – sometimes she likes to tour her city and shake hands! Pantomime show at Tivoli Gardens. Swans in city lakes.
Your Assignment:
1. Ride the train from the Airport to the city—name your secret agent pass card.
2. Visit Tivoli Gardens and watch the Himmelskibet (The Sky Flyer) - the world's tallest carousel.
3. Visit Rosenborg Palace and find portraits of the royalty and their Crown Jewels.4. Eat in a smorrebrod sandwich (perhaps at Ida Davidsen or Told & Snaps).

Thanks! We spent time in Copenhagen before and after our Baltic cruise last summer. We spent the whole day at Tivoli until it closed at midnight! There is a great resaurant to get smorrebrod in Tivoli. It is called Groften, and we all enjoyed it so much we are eating there again after our cruise.

Enjoy your cruise and time in Copenhagen!

Question about our booking window: this is only our 2nd cruise with DCL so we are only Silver. Do you have to complete the "check in" process before you can book excursions? I can't remember the process.
