Hi Brenda - I was wondering if you could recommend a car service for transfer from Gatwick to our hotel. We were able to use our DVC points to have 2 rooms for 3 nights at the Royal Garden Hotel. The hotel offers a saloon car transfer from Gatwick for 115 GBP. Is that a good deal? Also, how big is a saloon car? Is it big enough for 4 people and luggage? Thanks again for all of your help for our London stay.

Hi Carol,

So sorry to not have replied earlier. Will give the hotel a phone for you and find out what size car they use for transfer that is no problem. Alternatively their is a Gatwick to Victoria London train which runs directly from South Terminal at the airport I believe every 15 minutes I think it is £10 per person and it would be very easy to get a taxi from Victoria to the hotel.

Carol just given the hotel a phone and the car would be an e class mercedes which would not be large enough. They can do a people carrier which would cost £150. Hope this helps but if I can help anymore let me know.

Hi Bren, My wife Frances is booked on the E. Repo. She's going with some friends on another mom's only cruise. They did the 11 day Wonder this past Sept. and had a blast. She's going with Justmestace, scubamom, cruisingoose, and another non-DISer. They have a connect Cat. 3 and 4. My daughter Lauren and I are quite jealous (again.....).

I'll be visiting England the 12-14th. My son is stationed at RAF Mildenhall and is receiving a promotion and completing an advanced leadership class - so I get to fly over for his graduation ceremony on the 13th. Crazy - I know....

Hi all...yes Lisa, I booked my may 08 repo...thank goodness the tax man is paying me this year and not the other way around
We are getting closer and closer. I'm going to scour the earlier trip threads to see what the program is...formal night the second night?? thats not enough time for my dress to dewrinkle. Heaven forbid I iron!

Okay, maybe I'm just in denial here, but I have been spending a lot of time looking at the excursions. I really do wish they would just send us something in the mail. It's hard to go through it all on the website, I would prefer it right in front of me on paper. I'd rather not print it all out though! I am having a lot of trouble because having never been to any of these cities I have no idea what we would enjoy. Has anyone figured out their excursions yet? I am also having a hard time because they don't post the times of the excursions that I can see. I would like to know if on some days it would be possible to do 2 excursions.

Hi Pat. Not quite worked out yet, there's a lot that has to be resolved. However, for now I am plugging forward with the excursions as if we are going. That way if it does work out I will be all set. I looked at Palermo excursions for today. I would LOVE to do the boat ride to Zingaro Park, but that is of course one of the more expensive excursions in that port. I also thought Erice and Segesta looked great...the cable car sounds interesting!

Did your daughters get a snow day on Tuesday or Wednesday, Jim? We closed here at Xavier, aside from having to dig my car out, I really enjoyed the storm!

Has anyone gotten there packet, that booked thru a travel agent? I booked thru AAA & haven't received my packet as of yet.

My goal is to also have Rome & Florence & Sicily done by next week. I think DD is going to stay on the boat for Sicily. I also might book a few excursions while on the boat. If we aren't going to get a refund, I am going to leave the door open, and play it by ear. I might get up the nerve to go on a private tour with others.

Princess Jasmine "Snow" wow digging your car out??? Here in NYC we have been lucky. Hardly any snow as of yet. Now, cross your fingers, for me, I am leaving next Saturday with DD & DS for Disney World. We are going to our first Disney party. Princess & Pirate Party . I am secretly sweating bullets for no snow, or crazy weather at the airport.

Here's some info from the packet.
They will have currency exchange on the ship
They are sending more info at about a month before.
We'll be sailing from terminal "C" in Barcelona
Pirates in the Carribean Dinner...strange since we're in the med..they should have done a roman or toga themed dinner!
The laundry rooms are on deck 2,6,7 (phew..one on my deck!)
They also list the excursions, but not the prices...what up with that!

I want to do the Champagne Brunch at Palo and the High Tea ..what the heck right?! Anyone feel like joining...18 and up!

ok...we're getting closer. I am starting to get excited again. I have been focussing on the western repo lately. There's only 4 months left.

I got hit with the fee at heathrow. I have to pay 40 pounds more to fly out. Which sucks..but since I used my miles to get the tix, i guess it's not that bad.
Is everyone done with their plans. Are we all still on board or did we lose people?

Thanks for checking into that for me. I also been looking at car services for transportation on the internet also. This gives me something to compare prices with.

We rec'd our "packet" yesterday. I have not really had a chance to look through it though. The letter that came with the packet did tell us when we would be to book our shore excursions, palo, spa, etc.

Has anyone bought any travel books for the ports yet? I am trying to decide which ones to get. There are so many books out there it is hard to choose.
