The latest drama to unfold is American has now canceled one of our flights back. The Ta told me we could sleep overnight in the airport, and I of course said NO! So they are trying to redo our entire flight back. It turns out we might have to stay in Barcelona an extra night but there are worse things in life. I want to tell American they owe me the hotel cost since it's their mess up that has created this problem. Anyone think i'm being unreasonable?

I have to get the whole passport thing finished. We wouldn't have waited so long but Ds (9 1/2) 's mom had to sign the form and we just got that back. So everything is a go now.

I do not think you are being unreasonable to ask AA to pay for your hotel room if you have to stay an extra night.

I would pay extra to expedite your passport. I read a thread on tripadvisor about it taking up to 10 weeks to get passports back. Just something to keep in mind.

I don't think you are unreasonable in expecting American to pay for you hotel, but I'm not sure they will. I would at the very least have them upgrade you to 1st class!

It never hurts to ask, but the most likely outcome is a chance to pick your new flights from any that they have. In my case, a schedule change broke our connection in Frankfurt on the way home, and we had the choice of a six hour layover in Frankfurt, but we instead asked for a day layover there to be able to spend an evening in Germany instead. We are thinking of it as yet another port.

In your case, take a look at the choices that AA and their partners (British Airways?) have to get you back to the U.S. that day--anything is fair game once they have had a schedule change or cancellation.

Hi Everyone, time is getting closer and we are really looking forward to it.
Trying to persuade daughters to join us like last time but work commitments make things difficult of course.

Leilani, please can we come to your get-together we are in 7094 - sounds great and we will promise to behave ourselves.

So much looking forward to meeting with people after all this time and all of the planning.

Still cannot get Palo brunch only dinner which we have booked but it seems such a shame to have an Italian dinner when you can go ashore and get the real thing. Will try again for brunch but feelings are that we will cancel the dinner anyway.

Anyone else not doing Rome on this trip - are we to be alone looking after the magic?

Last Friday, we drove to visit my brother in Cleveland and when we came back on Sunday, all the lawns had transformed from yellow to green and there are buds on the trees. Now, I will have to cut the lawn before I leave for WDW.

I also ordered a money belt from LL Bean catalog to stop the pickpockets.:rotfl:

Have a Good Weekend everyone!

I know, it's been beautiful here in Cincinnati! I love the warm weather, it must be time to clean out the closet and get out the summer clothes!

I have been checking online regularly for Palo brunch as well and have found nothing. Now dinner won't even come up either, it says it's booked. I will check again at the 75 day mark--which must be coming up now that I think about it.

I just watched the DVD DCL sent us. I wasn't really impressed. It wasn't anything you couldn't find on the website and the "Things you Need to Know" section just seemed like common sense to me.

Wow..there will be a couple of ships in port with us. We'll definately be able to see ours..ya know the one with the mouse! I am going to get my sleep in tonight and take a nap tomorrow so I can stay up and get my tours going. I think I am going to book everything now to save a spot and cancel ones I want to do on my own.
As far as I can see or read, jumping back to eternal rome and Ultimate Rome see the same things, just one is a bus and the other a train. Right? I think the train will be better for my little one. Give her some moving around room.
Everyone keep your eye on the travel channel. They have alot of samantha brown and another series called globe trekkers that have highlights of some of the places we will be touring.
I am still working on the list of people who have posted here. It's getting long. I just wonder how many are still going. I would to upgrade to a balcony room, but we used points so it seems like it's not going to work out. Lets see what kind of finagling (spelling?) I can do on board. Good to know that those cats are still available. I guess I have learned the drawbacks of using points for cruises. Has anyone ever upgraded for cash after using points on a cruise?
Well I hope to post good news on monday. Have a great weekend. It's a beautiful morning her in northern california. We are going up to the state capital today (sacramento) to visit our friends.

Steph - where in northern california do you live? My sister lives in carmel-by-the-sea.

Did you know you can get the whole list of everyone who's ever posted right by the thread title?

We are also wishing we could have gotten a balcony room. We're just going to ask at the port and see what happens. We booked one room using points and one using cash so I don't know what can be done. Sure would be nice to have a balcony though.

Good luck with your excursions, Steph!!!

While there may be some advantage to a balcony on the Med., we found that we really didn't use the balcony when we had one and have opted for just a porthole view. My grandson could stand up in the window frame and look out and we didn't have to worry about him.

So don't feel bad if you don't have a balcony. You may not miss anything at all.

I more north,20 miles east of oakland. I love carmel though, got some fantastic shoes there! Oh and it's a pretty little town.

I usually have a balcony on RCCL, so when my dd goes to sleep, I can read outside. Of course, I am hoping that she sticks to my schedule on this trip and stays in kids club at night so I can socialize. We'll see. I figure I'll ask, but I am not spending another 2k to move up. Thats about how much we're spending in excursions:scared1: so I can't really spare the cash.

Are the cruises doing dreams too? Maybe they'll dream me a balcony :thumbsup2 That would be cool.

That's a good point especially considering we've never been out of the country so chances are we won't want to just be sitting on a balcony much. Since we also haven't been on a Disney cruise in about 7 years we will probably want to explore the ship a lot too. We do have porthole rooms right now and if I am remembering correctly the portholes are quite large.
