Patricia

Patricia - Did it take awhile for you to hear back from them? I emailed Angie's Taxi and Barcelona Taxi on Friday and have not heard back yet. I wonder how long to wait before I send another email. I guess if all else fails we can use taxis, but if that does not go well .... I can hear my DH now. I would just prefer to schedule the private shuttle and take all of worry out of the equation.

Our schedule - just to see who is all on the same excursions.

Tues. June 19th - Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri
Wed. June 20th - Palo's dinner 7:30
Thurs. June 21st - Jumping Back Into Eternal Rome
Sat. June 23rd - Florence and Pisa
Mon. June 25th - Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze
We are one of the ones with a 12 DD. I know I saw a schedule very similar to this with another 12 DD:tink:

Hi Barbara! My DH and I are doing the Rome and Florence tours with you, should be fun!

We have booked our transfers in Barcelona through Blai Limousines
www.blailimousines.com. They have been very helpful always writing back in English. They are picking us up from the airport and transferring us to the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos. Picking us up next morning taking us to the port and also picking us up at the end (so sad) and taking us back to the airport.
You can log on to the site and they give you a quote.

Hope you don't mind but I'm on a different cruise. Just curious do you what is the earliest time we can board the boat? Also, what time do you plan having them pick you up from the port?

Lquiee,

What part of NY are you from???

We live in Carmel, NY....on the border between Westchester and Putnam Counties. Originally I am from North and South Plainfield NJ and my DH is from New Rochelle, NY.
Where are you from?

LeiLani,
Thanks so much for offering a get together in your room. I can "hardly wait". :cool1: Should I bring Chips & dip???? Jenna & I (Patricia J) are staying in room #2524. DMIL Patricia A is in room #6051
Patricia

Thanks for the cabin numbers Patricia, and thanks for the offer, but all you need to bring is yourselves.

My daughter is SO shy. Even though she’ll be 7 on the cruise, its gonna take an act of God to get her to the kids club. On our last cruise, she just didn’t want to leave us.

I have a daughter who is 8 and likes to have email penpals and also just discovered the Webkins thing. She is pretty outgoing and might be helpful with your daughter if you are interested. The only possible problem I noticed is that the break point between the two age groups is between 7 and 8, so my daughter would be in the Oceaneer's Lab, while yours would be in the Oceaneer's Club. Send me a PM if that is at all interesting.

wow..you all have been busy. Welcome back dvc4us (leilani) My DD9 and I would love to come and meet in your suite. We're in cabin 6003. I've seen a bunch of others on our floor. YEA! I can't tell who has kids what ages? Hard to keep track through the posts. I am going to go back thru and see where everyone is at and put together a list. If anyone hasn't posted that info, please do so. Just dd or ds and age no names are necessary. Your floor # would be good too. It'll be my next insomniac moment.
We just returned from disneyland. All is still the same, but they had alot closed down. No splash mountain, train, tarzan or fantasmic. Plus it was windy so fireworks on 2 of the 4 nights we were there. All the parades end earlier too. This trip my daughter was tall enough (thanks to her heelies :) ) to go on the Maliboomer at California Adventure....I don't know if anyone has seen or done this but boy..your stomach jumps right up into your mouth. Definately should not eat before this ride. They pumped in Red Hot Chili Peppers music on space mountain and california screamin' It was loud and fun! We left right as the rain started coming down. It was perfect timing.
Cya later..I can't book our stuff until april 2nd. So wish me luck!
Steph

My family is also on deck 6, including DD8.

For those of us who are not Castaway Club members and have to book Palo & Excursions at the 75 day point, am I right in calculating that the day (and time) to do this is very early this coming Monday morning, 4/2 (or staying up very late Sunday night, depending on your perspective)?

Thanks.

BMR12, Thanks for the offer. I think I need to find someone who will be in the same group as her. Thats where we'll have the problem - getting her to go into a room with a bunch of strangers. Thanks for the offer though. Do you have other kids? My son will be 9 (almost 10) on the trip. Hes probably more like your daughter - will talk to anyone and will go anywhere! -J

LeiLani, How cool!! We have always wanted to see one of these suites. One more thing to make this cruise the best one ever. I know we're on the 6 floor too but i'm not sure if it's 6136, 6137 or 6138. I'll check the docs when i get home from work and let you know.

Pillow, our ds is 9 1/2. He's a little shy around adults but around kids his age, he seems to be the class clown. We'll have to be sure they meet. Are you letting him sign himself out?? I'm not really inclined to do it, but Bill, dh, says we can see how it goes!

I've finally booked hotels. We are staying at St Augustin??? when we get there on the 15th. Anyone else there??? Heard of it???

I've put the Hilton hotel on hold for the two nights when we get back but i'm still looking around. It just seems like a lot of money for a Hilton.

Pillow - my niece is 8. It would be great if she could meet some other kids her age. Her brother is 10, so will be in a different group in the Kids Clubs. Last cruise they didn't stay in the clubs much. not that they didn't like it - just wanted to hang out with the rest of us. I think it might be different this time since they are a little older.

Tays mom - thanks for taking on that project! we have the 2 above and are on deck 8:) It does seem that there are quite a few 7-12 y/os.
We went to DL last summer - your right , the Maliboomer was great - I even got my mom on it. Good luck on booking - from reading posts on cruises before ours, it doesn't seem like anyone is having trouble getting their excursions. If by chance you don't get what you want and are willing to wait you can often get what you want while you are on the ship. We did that lasttime - it was even a busy SB cruise and we were able to get excursions we couldn't book ahead of time. Hope it all just works out Monday for you:goodvibes

tde1969, no, we won't let him sign himself out. I would never be able to relax knowing that hes roaming the ship somewhere + I think he would be equally as uncomfortable. I would love for them to meet. We'll have to arrange it as we get closer.

Post cruise, we're staying at the Best Western Regina (just 1 night). They have a family suite for 4 - looks very nice - a lot nicer than the Best Westerns here in the States + its close to Las Ramblas. You might want to check it out. Also, pre-cruise we're in the Hispanos 7 Suiza which is near the Sagrada Familia. Its seems to be a cross between a hotel (they have a restaurant) and an apartment. We get 2 bedrooms + a kitchen for less than $350 US dollars / night - pretty good for Barcelona. We're there 2 nights pre-cruise. Good luck with your arrangements.

These boards are addictive!!!

-Jodie

FYI everyone, after my last post, I was curious, so I checked to see if the Best Western Regina was still available post cruise. Glad I checked. The rate has gone down since I booked. Also, if you call the 800# they will also give an additional AAA discount. I got the suite with 4 beds for $275 Euro. I feel like this is a great price in Barcelona since its so hard to find rooms that will accomodate more than 3!! -Jodie

Does anyone know if they will let you child out of the kids club if he can sign himself out if you are on an excursion? I'm just curious. The times for the Casino night in Monaco is 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm, I can't imagine my DS12 hanging out in a kids club for that many hours. Do you think they will do something really exciting with the kids on that night since so many parents will probably be going?

Marie

LeiLani,
Thanks so much for offering to show everyone your room. It will definately be something to remember! Our cabin number is 7067, unless we happened to get upgraded before then. We'll get in touch with you if we do.
I'll be glad to bring some food, wine, etc.popcorn::

Wed. June 20th - Palo's dinner 7:30
Thurs. June 21st - Jumping Back Into Eternal Rome

Barbara & Brian,

We also booked the (4) same excursions -- our DD will turn 12 on June 21st. I think the train ride into Rome will be fun for the kids especially since Florence & Pisa will be 4-5 hours on a bus.

We are getting excited about the cruise but first we have to get that :rolleyes1 bothersome Spring Break trip to DisneyWorld out of the way. There will be (11) McDonnell's from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis & Los Angeles in a Grand Villa in Old Key West. We normally do not go when WDW is this crowded but we will get to the parks early, leave at noon for a swim at the resort and then go back in the evening.

John

Thanks for the cabin numbers Patricia, and thanks for the offer, but all you need to bring is yourselves.

Leilani,

Thank you for letting us visit your suite. My DW is dying to see it. Our cabin numbers are: 2546 & 2548.

Thanks again,

John

LeiLani, Ok we are in 6136. I keep all the cruise stuff at home and my disboards password here at work so I had to double check.

My friend at Disney Cruise says we are at 80% capacity right now with every cat 5 and under still available. Not sure if that's good or bad, but I kind of like the idea of some extra room on the boat, lol.

The latest drama to unfold is American has now canceled one of our flights back. The Ta told me we could sleep overnight in the airport, and I of course said NO! So they are trying to redo our entire flight back. It turns out we might have to stay in Barcelona an extra night but there are worse things in life. I want to tell American they owe me the hotel cost since it's their mess up that has created this problem. Anyone think i'm being unreasonable?

I have to get the whole passport thing finished. We wouldn't have waited so long but Ds (9 1/2) 's mom had to sign the form and we just got that back. So everything is a go now.
