Staley98, thanks for the recommendation on the underwater camera. I am searching for one (or actually, I have it in my mind that I shall be searching for one, as soon as I get around to it!). I have absolutely no idea where my underwater camera is that I last used 2 years ago. It seems to have just walked away. I would blame my puppy for eating it, but he wasn't here back then!

I emailed Tigger/Pooh4 to please keep my family in the FE group.

Also, for my DD's sake, I am so glad to see so many 18-20 year olds! I do hope they can meet, for if nothing else, we know they have Disney in common! She is really sad about having to share her sister this cruise with her fiance (he is joining us). I really wish DD will find some friends to hang out with!

It is still hard to imagine nice weather in my future, but here in Chicagoland, looks like it is coming! My crocus are up and the temperature is climbing! Woohoo, good times are coming! Hope the bartenders on board are stocking up on Mojito fixings for me!

If you can't find the great deal that Staley98 got at Walmart, I can heartily recommend the Kodak PlaySport which also takes HD video. It's under $100 on Amazon. I've got the Z3, which is great. The newer model is the Z5, and I can't vouch for that, but I'm really pleased with the discontinued model. It's a little more expensive, so if you can find the CoolPix, that's a great deal.

It will give you info about who is on this thread, participating in a gift exchange onboard, and a link to join our facebook group, if you're on facebook. I would then take your time perusing the pages of this thread to get to know everyone and learn lots of useful information. There are quite a few 16 - 18 yo's in our group, so you should be able to make some friends. Also, I hear the teen club is great!

Every time I click the link on the first post, it just takes me to my newsfeed and I don't find any way to request how to be a part of it. Sorry for all the questions. After you click on the link to the FB page there will be a button to join group as our page is a private group. Click on the link. Bobbie is the admin and she will grant you access to the page.

Also, what is the consensus about a meet and greet? Can those of you who have cruised the big ships before suggest an appropriate location, and what time/day does everyone like to meet?

I found a place that will do the DIS lime green silicone wrist bands for a pretty reasonable price. It's more hassle than it's worth to try to collect money for them, so I'd be happy just to order them and pass them out at the meet and greet. I'll consider them an addition to my FE presents, even for those who aren't doing FE.

I would suggest the Vista Café on deck 4 in the Atrium area at 3pm. The pool deck would be crowded and hot. The Vista café is centrally located and is like the Promenade Café on the classic ship. There is a bar right there so if anyone wants a drink you can get one right there.

FE Sign Up

Please note that the cutoff date is going to be at the PIF date which is this Sunday. Anyone who has not joined up and wants to be a part of the FE please send me a PM or email by Sunday.

We are now at 30 participants and we will be splitting up the FE group into two groups but you can be a part of both groups if you wish. I will ask everyone who has already signed up to confirm that they still want to part of the FE and whether they want to in one group or both. Please either PM me here on the DIS, PM me over on Facebook or email me at nascar9@aol.com with your confirmation and whether you want to be on one or both groups by April 7th. If you do not confirm your participation by April 7th, then we will consider you no longer interesting in participating in the FE.

It take good pics underwater. I don't think I've done any video underwater yet, but the regular video is very good. I had used it for a while and then took it in a pool on vaction in Florida, and it stopped working! Turns out I hadn't securely fastened the door to the battery/memory card compartment, and the camera had filled up with water. Total user error. I'd had such good results with it up until then that I decided to go ahead an buy another one. I will post some underwater shots to the fb page so you can see.

No worries! I just shared that anecdote as a warning: make sure all access panels to the inside of the camera are securely fastened before submersion. I guess that's a no brainer for most folk, but the fact that I have a silicone jacket on my camera also may have obscured the fact that the panel was loose.
