June 15 - June 22 2013 Eastern Fantasy

:welcome: aboard the Father's Day Eastern Fantasy. Also please feel free to join our FB page as well. The link to the FB page is in the first post of this thread. I believe we are starting the group Bernard's tour at 10am for six hours. That will put us back on ship after your appointment at 2:15pm. Not sure about the flexibility at BBB since we did not visit the BBB on our last trip on the Fantasy.

I imagine I could possibly take an open air taxi back to the ship before it ends. Is that even possible? Will the tour company allow that?

Hello all!!! Long time disboard member here. I've kept my eye on this thread for a while now but haven't posted until we figured out what we wanted to do. Go ahead and add myself and family (DW 30, DD 11, and DS 5) to the list. We will be traveling with other members of my family who will be on their first Disney cruise. My sister, her boyfriend, my nephew (13), mother-in-law and I also have a DS who is 18 and will be staying with my parents in their cabin. So any info about a 18-20 group meet would really be helpful. We are now less than 85 days from departure and have really stepped up our excitement. I have read about the Bernards Tour group and would really like to be part of the group. However I scheduled my son to have his pirate make over at 2:15, which would be right at the tail end of the tour. On the website, the tour ends at 1:30. So I'm not sure I will be able to join or not. Does anybody know if BBB are flexible with being on time or not? I have plenty of questions so be prepared to see my posts on here from now on!!!!

Welcome to our friendly group. Glad to have you and your family join us. One of my DS is 6 and will be excited to meet your son (5)!

Thank you. Yes, my son pretty much gets along with everyone. They should have no problems being friends! :thumbsup2

FE Suggestion:
Since we appear to have some opinions to split and not to split the group I have a suggestion. Currently we have 28 participants in the FE. We can split the group in 14 each but allow some to join both groups with a max of 20 participants in either group. This way no group is too big but would allow the people to participate in a larger group if that is what they like.

That is a wonderful idea. This is the first time that I have seen that suggestion on the boards. I did not participate in the FE on previous cruises because of the sizes of the groups which were much larger than ours. I was hoping ours would be split since I knew it was going to keep getting larger until the cutoff date. Thanks!

I don't recall if anyone posted tips on this thread already - sorry if this is repetitive. I was a bit excited planning away and remembered these tips someone posted on one of our earlier DCL trips thread. Much of the information was very useful and now I wouldn't leave home without these items.

Does anyone have any additional tips to share?

Welcome - You are going to have a great time.

Here are tips that I can share - Does anyone else have any tips to share?

1. Pack light - store your suitcases under the bed
2. Bring a "over the door" shoe organizer to store all your toiletries and little items on the bathroom door - it really makes for a more organized room.
3. Read the Dis Boards - it is great to "know" people before you get on the ship and participate in the Fish Extender (FE) - it is fun.
4. Bring your own alcohol - it's much cheaper ( this is a tip from my DH) :cool1:
5. Bring binoculars - there are great views from the balconies or the deck.

Here are a few things I have brought over the past few cruises that have really helped out:

1) Clothespins with a hanger hook (used to hang suits to dry on the line in the bathroom or other places in the room if the bathroom line is full)
2) Glow stick for bathroom at night (lights up the bathroom so it is not so dark and just throw it away in the morning)
3) Ziploc bags of various sizes (great for storing things or putting snacks in for excursions)
4) Envelope of $1 bills (easy for kids to use for tipping room service)
5) Collapsible laundry bag (keeps dirty clothes together in one place)
6) White board for door (used to leave notes to kids or family members when going somewhere on the ship)
7) Door decorations (magnets for the door make it easy to find your room and makes it festive)
8) Bonine (helps with any sea sickness and doesn't make you drowsy)

If we're going to be splitting the FE group, my daughter and I would join back in. When will we make a decision on this?

FE Sign Up

Please note that the cutoff date is going to be at the PIF date which is this Sunday. Anyone who has not joined up and wants to be a part of the FE please send me a PM or email by Sunday.

We are now at 30 participants and we will be splitting up the FE group into two groups but you can be a part of both groups if you wish. I will ask everyone who has already signed up to confirm that they still want to part of the FE and whether they want to in one group or both. Please either PM me here on the DIS, PM me over on Facebook or email me at nascar9@aol.com with your confirmation and whether you want to be on one or both groups by April 7th. If you do not confirm your participation by April 7th, then we will consider you no longer interesting in participating in the FE.

That sounds like a whole lot of pages of fun reading! I will surely PM you with my email info. Thanks!

Beach Bums would like to join both FE groups please. Thank you. We are really getting excited for the upcoming cruise.

I don't know if anyone is looking for a decent underwater camera, but I was following the thread on this topic and was able to pick up a Nikon Coolpix S30 on clearance at Walmart for $59. It even shoots video.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Only 11 weeks? Really? Time is flying.

Staley98, thanks for the recommendation on the underwater camera. I am searching for one (or actually, I have it in my mind that I shall be searching for one, as soon as I get around to it!). I have absolutely no idea where my underwater camera is that I last used 2 years ago. It seems to have just walked away. I would blame my puppy for eating it, but he wasn't here back then! ;)

I emailed Tigger/Pooh4 to please keep my family in the FE group.

Also, for my DD's sake, I am so glad to see so many 18-20 year olds! I do hope they can meet, for if nothing else, we know they have Disney in common! She is really sad about having to share her sister this cruise with her fiance (he is joining us). I really wish DD will find some friends to hang out with!

It is still hard to imagine nice weather in my future, but here in Chicagoland, looks like it is coming! My crocus are up and the temperature is climbing! Woohoo, good times are coming! Hope the bartenders on board are stocking up on Mojito fixings for me! :wave2:

Good afternoon! We are on the June 15 Disney Fantasy Cruise and we are very excited. 3 of us. Myself, my husband, and my 16 year old daughter. Looking forward to getting to know some folks!
