June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

My traveling friend Michael who is not on the Dis has decided that he would like to make lanyards for everyone who is interested in them. These will be free (if anyone would like to contribute to the cost - please PM me and I will forward his information to you).

Many cruises have lanyards and lanyard teams - and since no one has started this on this cruise Michael offered to do this for all of us.

There is a google doc for this (yea, I seem to use them a lot) this one is an open document - meaning you can edit the information yourself.

PLEASE DO NOT SORT THIS LIST - WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT - JUST ADD YOUR INFORMATION AT THE BOTTOM PLEASE

The document is self explainatory, but just follow the list entering your cabin number, dis name, real name and if you are going to contribute to the list cost or not. Again, please do not sort the list, the Hawaii list got sorted incorrectly and it was so messed up it had to be trashed and restarted.

What a WONDER(FUL), MAGIC(AL), DREAM(Y), FANTASY fulfilling vacation!!!

My amazing girlfriend (Halloween_gryl) managed to fill the room at Saratoga with balloons just before we sailed on the Fantasy and she propsed to me!!!! We are engaged!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!

That is so exciting. Congratulations from myself, my mom and Katelyn!!!! We haven't even met and I am so excited for you!!!!

I've got this cruise on hold & have less than 24 hours to take the plunge. I need a break at the end of this school year. Super stressful!!!!

I was wondering if someone could check for me to see if all the Palo ressies are gone. DH might kill me if he doesn't get at least brunch, but would be happy w/ dinner. I love tea, but it's not his "cup of ...."

Would some sweet person please check if there are any Palo's left?

He's sweet enough to do this cruise--despite the price, so that I can get a break. I want to warn him if Palo is not likely. I know we can try once onboard, but this sounds like an adult filled cruise.

Looks to me that both brunch and dinner are sold out. Try calling though.

About Palo - there are almost always open spaces for Palo once you board the ship, don't give up hope on getting one.

ok - I realized that my posts have been a little cryptic...here is what I am posting on all three NYC inaugural cruise threads...I hope this clears the muddy water a bit

Lanyard information
These lanyards (assuming Michael follows the pattern set by others in the past) will have a slogan that is specific to the cruise and will have a small card attached that will have each person's name (Dis Name if applicable).

For much larger cruises (the Hawaii list is over 500 long) the contribution was 35.00 (all voluntary) and I am happy to defray the costs to the originator of the list. He set up a paypal account and I just sent the money via Pay Pal. I know that Michael is setting one up this week and I will be sending that information to folks who indicated that they are willing to contribute.

I have a collection of these and I really treasure them as part of the memory of the cruise.

For other cruises, they lanyards are usually given out at the meet n greet, but I suspect Michael may want to do it at his sailaway thing on top deck starboard. If the lanyard is not picked up - then we deliver them to the FE or cabin fish hook later on that night or the next night. There will be a write on board on our cabin so pick up info will be posted there.

The actual cost is not known yet - this will depend on the number needed. Michael mentioned that he will most likely order 100 pieces, since in the past they were often give them to cast members as well.

As I get more information from him I will post it...I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

My DD and DS will both be 11

I like our 50's meetup. Mindelmouse, my DS is older now, and I have a size 16 or 18 tuxedo he wore years ago on a Magic jersey week cruise. Might you be interested in this? Or anyone else with a child who would fit into this, or in the next year or two....

Thanks for the offer...however, my DS only wears a size 12 currently...we probably won't make him tuxedo it for this summer's cruises...perhaps in 2013for Europe...not sure what his size will be then

I know this doesnt affect our cruise, but thought I'd post somewhere. My TA sent me a message from DCL stating that since brunch at Palo is so popular, they are stopping high tea. The date for the Magic is August, and all ships seem to be summertime, so if you are cruising sooner and want to try Palo high tea at some time, reserve it asap! We chose Palo dinner first night and high tea at sea day, because I can't imagine being able to handle that much food back to back! I'll do brunch in December on the Dream.

So I've been MIA for a while and had lots of posts to catch up on...I've decided to ditch the hubby and bring the eldest daughter as her graduation present!!! Hubby not so happy we may miss Fathers Day but he will get over it
So it is now myself and daughter (18) going to enjoy a relaxing weekend away after school for both of us (her graduating high school and me finally getting a paralegal certificate) before starting the "official" college thing

I have to apologize - my computer developed a major issue last Wednesday night and I had to put it in the shop on Friday...I am still waiting to get it back (unrepaired) and am hoping my father can fix what I suspect is a minor problem. The repair shop tried to tell me the motherboard was toast - I am pretty sure it is the power jack, but want my father to look at it....the bottom line - I have no computer and this is my first shift back at work since it happened. I am using work computers between running from one sick patient to another. I hope to be back in service soon...sigh...never a dull moment!

I am trying to keep the lists up to date - without a computer...any new additions to the FE LIST?

Just fresh off the Dream......we had such a blast!

Anyone have a link to a compilation of info for the NYC cruises? My friends are asking me a bunch of questions and I don't know the answers! Questions like...what time will they start boarding the ship?

I keep saying that it's possible that no one really knows yet since the Magic has never sailed from NY yet, but that doesn't stop me from wondering either!

You will be assigned an arrival time for the port. for instance DH and I are slotted to arrive at the port between 11 and 11:30. the dfriends traveling with us are slotted to arrive between 11:30 and 12 noon. we are traveling together,so we are hoping to show up at 11: 30 at the port.
