June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

Checked with my agent. She told me that she thinks there will be fireworks, but that didn't sound 100%. She said that we need to put in a request if we want to eat at a particular restaurant.

Just booked a few days ago! Me and three kiddos! School wont' be out yet, but eh, they can miss friday (really, they won't be doing much anyway) and have a nice disney weekend before their last few days of school!

This will be our first cruise. Have a deposit down on Dream for May 2012 also... but am nervous to cruise while can't wait to try it at the same time. I think this 2-nighter will be just the right thing for us to finally try a cruise! This just seems to be a better fit for us compared to the Dream I think... prefering the 2 nights only to try it out, and can drive an hour to get there and not need passports (hoping I am assuming correct on that one!) and it doesn't take away from our park time to do a cruise/WDW trip.

Really am hoping for fireworks!

:welcome:

It's definitely a great tester cruise. My boyfriend has never been on a cruise before so we'll see how he does with this one before we book a longer one sometime in the future.

I don't think we need passports. Actually, if your cruise starts and ends in the same port, you don't need a passport even if you're going to the Bahamas, Bermuda, etc. They just advise you to have it incase you miss the boat and get stranded on an island. It'd be very difficult coming home without one!

Fingers crossed for fireworks. :goodvibes

I booked this using my DVC points. It will be myself, my daughter and my niece. This will be my 5th DCL cruise and I am so glad they finally came to
New York. :cool1

Myself (26 at time of cruise) and DMom will be joining you as the second part of our B2B. We will also be on the 5 Night Canadian cruise on June 10.

We have a 3rd, my friend Katelyn who is actually at cast member at the WDW. But her coming is still up in the air.

Welcome to our little home on the DIS! :goodvibes

We'll have to plan a little DIS meet. There's quite a few of us now.

Whew....I am very sorry I have been absent from the boards for the last 8 weeks or so....my classes for the summer are finally over (:worship::worship:)
If I ever say I am doing summer classes again - please toss me overboard!! 3 papers due every weekend...2 with 48 hours notice of the topic/content. UGH :(

ok that having been said....I have been receiving PM's for new additions to the lists. I have updated them and will be uploading them before the night is over. I plan on making another post with the links.

I would like to say WELCOME to everyone who is joining us!!!

in regards to passports - please be careful, the rules are changing rapidly. You may not need a passport to leave the country but most likely will need some type of proof of residency to return!! For land/rail/sea border crossings the passport card will suffice. And yes, leaving and returning to the same port is easier, but still may require ID more than a drivers' license. I am pretty sure that by 2012 one will need a passport to fly domestically.

I have some feelers out about the dining rotation and fireworks, but no good answers yet. I may have more infomation after I am on the Dream in November. It depends on who is onboard...I have to find out who is captain for these cruises...usually it is Tom and he is on the West coast runs right now.

Once September starts, I will once again be busy until Dec 20...then full steam ahead with cruise planning!!!! Keep those PM's coming - the more the merrier!!

Here is the most current FE list:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...x5a0lCb3doeHc&authkey=CL_tgpkM&hl=en_US#gid=0

I have added two columns - that show how many days out we are "locking" the FE list, and the number of cabins or groups people are "voting" for.

For those who are lurking or haven't decided if they are going to join in the fun...this is a great way to meet folks and to enjoy little gifts from other cruisers.

If you would like to join in...PM me the following information:

Dis Name
real world name
cabin #
who is sailing with you
children's ages (if applicable)
and any special requirements such as allergies or restrictions

also vote on:
how many days before we sail are we "locking" the list to finalize the count
30 or 60?

should we keep it as ONE single group or split it?
if split - how many cabins in each group

I have been collecting email addresses - but since I put it on Google docs...I really do not need one- unless you want me to email you the excel file (I use Excel 2007 so it is a *.docx if you need it as *.doc then please let me know)
