June 12 2005 Disney Wonder

Thank you for pointing me here, Mimi!!

Yes my husband John (Crissup) and my two DD's, and myself will be joining you all on this cruise! We just booked it yesterday, and were very lucky as the ship seemed to be quite full. DD's are aged 22 and 19 and we have all sailed before, of course, lol.

Any plans for a DIS Meet yet on board ship? I would be up for one and would love to meet all of you, perhaps at the Sailaway party?

Hi Carol! A DIS meet sounds great! It will be fun to start off the cruise already "knowing" some other families on board. :)

Cool! We can make plans as we get closer to sail date!

Cannot wait for the warm sun and the tropical drinks, LOL!! :cool1:

I just wanted to check my countdown timer again. It is nice to read that there will be some older kids on board. My kids had a great time on the last DIS cruise with kids they met through the DISBoards. My oldest still IMs to them!

Catch us with you soon!
Jeanne

Yes, I'm shouting! It's four months from today that we board the Wonder for a Wonderful cruise!!!

WHOO HOOO!!

I am trying to gather items to pack that we won't need between now and then. Since my life will be pure drudgery until we go on vacation, I shouldn't need many of the items. In October I found 2 snorkel sets for my youngest kids at Walmart and two hats with big brims for me. They were clearance items. I saw the new swimsuits on the Disneydirect site but they are too high for my budget. I am really trying to squeeze my money but unfortunately LIFE keeps happening! :umbrella:

I need to go find a good packing list...
Mimi

Woo hoo!!! Four more months to go!

I should look for snorkel sets also. Good idea! I was so disappointed to read that the sunken Mickey disappeared after the hurricanes. :guilty:

I have the ship's horn wav file saved to my desk top, so we play it every once in a while. :)

We'll be staying at BWV for 3 days before we join you all on the June 12 4 day!

NeedsNEscape.....My DS, 17 will be sailing with my cousin and myself. Dh has to work and can't change his vacation this year.:sad2: He insisted we 3 go instead. DS is interested in making contact with some other teens before we sail. If your DS is interested, PM me and he and my DS can "meet"!

I'd be up for a Dis meet onboard! My DH and I planned this cruise last year but for the first time in 25 years he wasn't able to get the time off he wanted. So, since we'd booked using points, we didn't want to loose them so he told me to take my cousin that I'm really close to (more like the sister I don't have! :) ). So, it'll me, my cousin and my 17 yo DS. Isn't my DH wonderful?!?!?!? :love2:

DS and I cruised with DH and my friend on Disney for the first time last year. We had so much fun that DH and I bought into the DVC!

Are y'all taking bubbles to blow at the sail-away party?

If you have a teen going, please PM me so that my 17 yo DS can start making contact with your teen! :wave2:

I'm so excited!

We will be across the lake from you for 3 nights precruise! We will be at the Beach Club Villas with my sister and her dh. We have 3 "older" boys. Two will have just turned 18 and one will have just turned 16. We also have 13 and 15 year old dd's and a 12 yo ds.

I am SO excited about our cruise. I think I am driving everyone else crazy about it. They just don't know enough to be as excited as I AM!

Glad you found our thread! :flower:

How great that we'll be right across from each other the same amount of time. We plan to go to TL on the 9th, MK the 10th, and MGM the 11th. Of course that's likely to change around but I'll have to make Hollywood & Vine ressies next month to get reserved seating for Fantasmic. So, at that time, our MGM will be pretty much set.

I figured TL for the first day because we'll be driving from LA for 14 hours the day before and we can just relax while floating in the lazy river.

If your teens would like to get in touch e-mail style with my DS, just PM me their e addresses and Austin will e them back.

I just thought I'd tell you new cruisers about something my teen did last year and loved it so much, that he wants me to sign him up again this year. I'm talking about the Teen Junkanoo Jam that's offered while we're docked at Nassau. Here's the description from the Disney Cruise Line web site:

This exclusive experience for 13-17 year olds is a party on water! You will enjoy a fun-filled two-hour evening cruise complete with a DJ, music and dance contests. Offered during peak seasons only. $25

They cruise out on a catamaran and space is limited to 40. Last year, I signed up this and our other excursions at the 60 day mark before our sail date. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they've changed it to 90 days before cruise date that you can sign up for excursions.

This was so nice to have done ahead of time as the lines at the shore excursions desk was so long and many things are limited space! We were able to pass it right up!

Just thought I'd let our new cruisers know.

My Ds (14 & 16) will enjoy emailing with your guys! (that is: right after they get their science fair projects done!!!) They had a lot of fun getting to know other kids before going on the last cruise. We all wore green ribbons and met in the port before boarding the ship. This year we won't be going with any of their friends, so I hope they will find some time to go to the teen room.

It seems like it is SO BUSY this year with sports, band and SATs etc... We hardly have any time to even think about vacation. These teen years go by so fast!

Catch y'all later,
Jeanne

Our group of 7 is doing the land/sea package. We have adjoining rooms in cat. 10. We are staying at the CBR at WDW. We have 3 adults and 4 "kids" The oldest kid is 20. What is there for her to do? The rest are 11, 3 and 16 months. How many other babies will be there June 12, 2005 on the Wonder?

Hi Susie51. My DD (turning 4 next month) and DS (almost 10) will be on the June 12 Wonder. We are doing the land/sea also and will be at AKL.

This is my first post on DIS.

We have a party of 12 - 6 adults and 6 kids. We have 2 7 year old boys, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old girl, a 4 3/4 girl and a 4 year old boy. My dd's are the 7 year old and the 4 3/4. We are staying at CBR for 4 days before the cruise. We are all so thrilled and a little overwhelmed and confused by the planning. My dh and I were last at WDW 12 years ago for our honeymoon so things have changed.

 Welcome aboard Mom2jennris!!! My son will be 7 too when we sail, and we will be at the CBR as well starting June 5th...maybe we will run into each other!! We are both very excited about this trip!! It will be our first cruise...lots of nice people are going with us---as you can see by our posts!!!

 Hi everyone!! Getting close to the 3 month countdown..

Our group is interested in meeting on the ship if that is being arranged. My dd 20 may like to have someone to hang out with. Also, my 3 yr old nephew likes to play with kids his age. My niece will be almost 12 and may like to meet someone to hang out with too.
