June 10th LIVE FROM THE MAGIC

Linda: Yep, we'll see you on Saturday

CAPTAIN THORD - had a sort of hard time getting us into port this morning, but he finally made it - glad it was him doing it and not me. Mother nature sure was trying to put him to the test

YEP FOR OUR CAPTAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

It is raining here in St. Marten and everyone is back onboard 'cause of the weather.

CARS is playing now and there is not one seat left in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Even tho there is rain on Deck 9, some of the children are still swimming -

I think the Captain might close it very shortly

A new revised Personal Navigator came out about an hour ago. More activities onboard now due to the weather

We have a lot of first timers on the ship and they are not getting the full effect of their cruise at St. Marten

Hopefully tomorrow at St. Thomas it will be better weather for them

Kay, sounds like you all are having a wonderful time.
Looks like the weather should be good for wednesday :thumbsup2

Today was a VERY rainy and windy day in St. Maarten!!! I was flying home today after a week (of GORGEOUS weather!!!) on the island, and was thinking about the Magic being in port and how disappointed the cruisers must be.

Here's to nothing but sunshine :sunny: for the rest of the week for you!

(Side note: There was a family on our St. Maarten to Miami flight this afternoon who were put off the Magic and being sent home due to an injury... they were disappointed at missing the rest of their cruise but thankful for trip insurance and hoping to book again soon. I didn't get to talk with them much or find out if they're DISers, but the Dad's hand was splinted and seriously bandaged.)

Can't wait to hear how St Maarten was in spite of the rain! Although we skip this one on the 11 night in September, I'm anxious to get back to an Eastern cruise.

Glad to hear that it's Captain Thord onboard. Kay, you had me wondering, when you posted Captain THORNE at first!

Also glad to hear that they are now inviting a lot more people onto the Bridge. They invited a TON of families on our Double Scoop cruise.
Sounds like fun....let's hear more!!

Here's to fantastic weather at Castaway Cay!!

Yep, we arrived in St. Thomas this morning. A little bit overcast but no rain at all.

No tours were canceled and everyone was very happy.

Since I was here just recently in April, I didn't take any of the tours.

Just enjoyed the morning and afternoon resting and talking to some friends when we would pass

Pirates Night last night was awesome. You would think that once you have been to one Pirates Night, they are all the same - but not so - something different all the time.

Tonight is American Night in the dining rooms. A lot of us are going to dress up as "tropical night".

We wer eat Topsiders when the Buffet closed around 2:30 pm. Once they closed the door and the cleaning started, WHAM - the food was gone in less than 2 minutes. I have never seen clean up so fast with so much food Never seen them do it before. I was very imrpessed at the magical side of them whisking everything away so fast.

By 8:30 am this morning everyone had to go to the Walt Disney Theatre to get cleared by Immigrations. Those taking a tour early had to be there by 6:30 and there was a lot of moaning - LOL

The crew had their emergency fire drill around Noon and it took about an hour so cleaning was a little late being completed.

I've never heard of the onboard credits after boarding. But I sure wouldn't mind receiving one and an invite to the bridge on my cruise. ;)

First, major congratulations on your weight loss! I admire that you did that!!

Unless you're in one of the "big" suites...Cat 1 or 2, most people don't get "random" invites to the bridge. If someone is invited, it's either because they asked (and knew the right person to ask) or because someone else who knew the right person to ask, asked for them. From experience...there is no such thing as *Pixie Dust*.
Although... like I said before, I do notice that the further away we get from Sept 11, 2001, the more people they are asking back to the bridge.

I have been watching you from the portCams...
thought you would loike a pic of St Martin

Oh yep - pixie dust does in fact happen - yes it does - yes it does

pixiedust: pixiedust: otherise, I wouldn't be on the bridge today at noon

(little children are listening)

DisneyDmNut: great pictures you took from the webcam. We did look like a little pea sitting next to the Adventure of the Seas in St. Marten. But we were on the outside trying to hide her from everyone :rotfl2: She still showed herself .... Adventure of the Seas is a very large ship. I'll have to look her up when I get home

GOOD MORNING everyone:

last evening was absolutely awesome - I stayed out very late with friends by the DumboTron and watched High School Musical and watched the children swim - sort of make you feel like you are near heaven

Today is a Sea day - heading towards Castaway Cay.

This cruise has been great seeing all the CM's we cruised with several times last year. This time is even better because we have met so many wonderful famlies and am cruising with previous cruisers. Nothing could be finer !!!!

I beg to differ. I have never stayed in a 'big' suite in the 16 cruises we've taken on DCL but I can assure you that an abundance of pixie dust has fallen on us. We've NEVER asked for anything and NEVER expect anything. My expectations for a DCL cruise are simple. I don't have to work, someone else is cooking and making my bed. That's it. Everything else is gravy.

Yes, there definitely is that kind of Pixie Dust. And I believe that many, many special things happen in life, and especially at anything Disney. I was only referring to being "invited" to go to the Bridge. Yes, there is an "invitation" left on your "fish mail"....but there had to be someone who asked for you to go there in the first place. Or you have to be in one of the suites. Somehow or another, they have to know you want to go in the first place.

But as for *pixie dust* .....yes, yes, yes...plenty of it. All things Magical at Disney!

There is a family onboard, cruising with us, that it is their first time and they got "invited" to the Bridge. It was a total surprise for them and we were very happy for them to go. It is a very exciting happening for first timers. Something they will never forget.

So because of this, they did book another cruise for next year and can't wait to cruise with Disney again

The bottom line is that it does happen to anyone at anytime - They did not turn down the "invitation" and very happy to meet the Captain.

no...no...no.... The pixie dust is the invitation which has always been a total surprise to us that we have never asked for. Staying in a suite or asking to be invited (rather rude - eh?) did not apply to us!

krdisneybound: I hope you had a wonderful time on the bridge!!!!! Thank you for the live updates.

yes, it was awesome.

Met our First Captain, Mary - I look forward to her being Captain of one of the Disney Ships in the future.

Possibly the "Disney Rumor" :rotfl2:

We are running at 22.5 knots - standing on the Bridge, it seemed like we were still in the middle of nowhere - the waters were so smooth today

Excellent cruising

I had to leave my group at Palo's but when I returned, they were still there - We reserved the back room and it was a nice room to have everyone together

Our server was CARMEN - she and her husband are on the ship as waiters. If you have ever had CARMEN, you will know the type of service we had.

She was fabulous

Our Stateroom hostell is MARICAR - such a lovely lady -

Our Head Server is KAROLY

Our Assistant Server is ALONSO

Our Dining Room Head Server is JOHN

Having a lazy day today - Disney Dreams was on at 2 pm but we have seen it so many times, we skipped it - possibly we'll see it tonight at 6:15 before dinner

l:wave: love the live updates..have been following along! :thumbsup2

what is "fish mail"? :)
:wizard:

outside your Stateroom door on the wall is a little fish - if I were at home, I'd post a pic of it - I think it peuter type fish

in lieu of anything else you have hanging on your fish, the CM's or friends can leave you a message in the "fish mail" holder.

or they can slip it under the door, if it is really important and they don't want anyone to see what messages are left for you - or perhaps it is too big to leave in the "fish mail" holder
