June 10, 2012 Dream 5-Night Double-Dip

134 more days to go! I think I'll get more excited when we are down to double digits.

I just updated the roll call...we currently have 20 families in this thread, and 8 in the FE. I'm thinking we could schedule a meet-up on board before the lifeboat drill on the first afternoon...say 3:30? :)

Evening All - we had a family committment come up and have had to cancel this cruise, have fun all!

119 days to go! Who is still here???

Have you been reading the boards lately? Does that make the wait go slower or faster for you?

I've read 2 or 3 posts lately about how crowded the Dream was. I think they were all from 3 night cruises. My hope is that our 5-nighter won't seem as crowded because people have 5 days to spread out all the activities.

What is your plan for avoiding the crowds on the ship?

My kids are extreme early risers--even on vacation. They're up by 6 or 7 a.m. So I think we will hit the pools real early (even though I'm bummed the slides don't open until 9 a.m.). And it seems that another great tip is not getting to the dining rooms too early--big crowd outside waiting to be seated.

PS--there is still time to sign up for the Fish Extender group if you are interested. So far we have 8 families signed up.

We are here still & getting very excited for our trip!!!

I have read stories too about the Dream crowd- am a little worried- especially the pool area! I'm thinking we are probably going to stay on the ship in Nassau and hopefully a lot of the crowds will be gone?

Also going to just plan on avoiding elevators (walk the stairs).

June, hurry up... now! :)

We're still here! Coming up on 16 months since we booked this trip, 4 more to go. We bought our airfare last night, so now this thing is official cause I can't get that money back :lmao:

We'd wanted to add a few days at WDW on to the cruise, but on Christmas Eve the 30 year old tile in the kids bathroom literally started falling off the walls. So we had to get their bathroom redone which cut into vacation budget. Oh well. We have a nice shiny new bathroom to show for it so I'm not complaining.

We're still here too! Been trying to come up with cool FE gift ideas! :goodvibes
I'm headed to WDW this weekend for the Princess 1/2 princess: and am SO looking forward to a little Disney fix! June seems like forever away right now!!

We are still here! Getting ready to make the final payment this week. That will make it very real.

has anyone figured out when we hit the 90 day mark (for silver members) to make Palo and other ressies?

Excited that we are going to CC twice. What do you like to do at CC? Thinking of trying some new things since we will be there twice.

My kids love the crab races
Last time we snorkeled which was cool with all the "sunken" disney stuff
My husband joined in a sand volleyball game which made him super happy

We are taking our 11 year old granddaughter on her first cruise. Anyone in the same boat? - pun intended

Hey everyone. Our family will be joining yours for Disney Dream cruise June 10, 2012. It will be me (Chuck 41), DW (Lisa 38), DS (Will 6), and DD (Elisabeth 2). Can't wait for school to end and vacation to begin.

Is anyone else spending time at The World prior to cruising?

Welcome Tangodancers and Navy8tor! I've added you to the roll call on the first page--let me know if there are any changes.

This is our first cruise.

We are planning on spending 2 days at WDW prior to the cruise--DH will take our oldest son to Star Wars Weekend on Friday while I'm planning on taking the 2 younger kids to EPCOT. Then on Saturday we will all go to Magic Kingdom together. :)

We've never been to CC but there's so much I want to do! I definitely want to rent bikes and check out the tower. Run the Castaway Cay 5k. Snorkel. Pelican Plunge. Hope we can fit it all in!

Are you back from your trip? How was the run?

Thanks MissDaisy. We are thinking about how to get from AKL to Port Canaveral. The bus seems expensive for a family of four. We are thinking about maybe a one way car rental or a private car/bus. What are your thoughts on this?

I scheduled this cruise in January 2011! Hard to believe that it is almost here!
We are a family of 5...Mom (Me) 39, Dad 41, son Haden (8), son Wyatt (6) and Daughter Ryan (5).
We are all looking forward to the trip! We'll be spending a few days at DW prior to the cruise!
