hope everyone's day was a good one.

Karen and Abby and Kaitlyn and I went to the Beach and walked the fishing Pier in Lauderdale By The Sea. Beautiful day. When everyone eft at 3 pm, I was totally worn out. So took a short nap and am up now.

BILL: what did 'ya do today????

hello everyone ---------

CHRISTINE: Yes, that is exciting for you. Lots of wonderful time for you to come. Just keep it up and you'll go far and have fun doing everything.

Good news today. I sold my 2nd VWL contract. It should close before I leave for my Germany trip. One thing I don't have to worry about. Will keep the other contracts. Just didn't need so many anymore. Still leaves me with over 300 points and that is plenty.

Had our installation of Officers for the Hospital Auxiliary this morning. It was a very nice ceremony. I'll be very busy this year working with them. That is exciting also.

off to take a short nap before I leave for a meeteing at 7:30 tonight. won't get home until late.

I think you have completely LOST your mind..........................

sleep it off

I agree. Bill's slap-happy again.....

Congrats on selling your contract Kay.

Christine: I'm glad you get to take your friend.

Please remember Scott in your prayers. Several phone interviews--lots of jobs that he's overqualified for which they don't want to hire him. There's only so much networking you can do when so many companies keep downsizing. :sad2:

happy "hump" day everyone - getting ready to go to COSTCO for a little while and get my car washed. I'm also trying to let my hair grow out a little and it is so thin, I had a body wave this morning - so I must keep going or I'll not do anything.

hope everyone is having a great day.

Is anyone going to be in LA (DL) from 9/2 thru 9/11 by any chance???? I'll be available from 9/7 thru the 11th, when I'll return home.

Hi everyone!!

I haven't had computer access at school, so that is why I have been MIA.

I am getting ready to finish up the day and head to the workman's comp. doctor. I went to sit on one of the old rickety chairs I have in my class, on Monday afternoon and it collapsed. The chair back struck me square on the back of my head/neck. It has really been hurting, so I am going to get it checked out. They couldn't find a sub for me, so I have been sitting quiety waiting for the day to go by, finally it is almost finished.

We did have some rocking and rolling on Friday. It woke us up and then I felt the second quake while I was at school in my class at the Zoo. Don't think I want to be at the zoo if a bad earthquake hit.... lions and tigers and bears oh my!

I realized I never shared much about my cruise. My head isn't into my work reports right now, so let me share a little bit.

We went on the RCCL Voyager with 2 other families from our church/school. We had a jr. suite- loved it!!! It was really neat to have so much room, a great balconey and a tub!! It was a bit rocky for the first couple of days, but settled down. Girls loved the Ocean Adventure Club. We didn't disembark in Cozume, been there, done that. We did have a private guide in Roatan. Loved it! A couple highlights of the trip were: playing with a spider monkey- he was so soft and gentle and visiting a school there. I took pencils, pens, crayons, rulers, erasers... to them. The guide directed us to give each student only one crayon. They rushed me to get theirs. They had nothing. It was very eye opening. The girls were very moved by this and want to get more supplies to send to them. The ship was beautiful, the food was very good and the entertainment was good too. The ship is very big. ot sure what I think about that. We watched the ice skating show, never made it to the parades in the center promenade though. The girls enjoyed rock climbing, putt putt golf, roller blading and swimming. Maura even did a Jr. PADI scuba diving class one of the days we were on the ship. Our last port for Progresso/Merida, Mexico. We went with one of the other couples we were with on a bus ride to Merida. It was beautiful and full of history. Our other friends went on a tour that took them to the cenotes ( water caverns caused by caves) to go swimming and had a wonderful time too. All in all it was a great trip. I think Cozumel is just to touristy... I really enjoyed the freshness of the other 2 ports.

Okay, off to the doctor now, students will be heading home and so will I. Have a great rest of the week!

Marion: I'm so sorry you got hurt. Your back & neck is nothing to mess around w/. I can't imagine staying at school in that much pain. I hope they figure out what's wrong & you recover quickly. Thanks for the cruise review. The stories about the children though really make you think. We're all complaining about gas prices & there are people who have so little in the world.

Kay: Good luck w/ your hair!

Happy Thursday! The weather here is so beautiful. :cool1:

Good Morning ALL!

We had a wonderful long weekend at the beach with the in-laws! Great to sleep in my bed last night.

All is well here.

Marion, how is your back????

We've booked dinner at Artist Point for June 2 (it's on a Monday. . .I think I'm correct with the date) and then going to Cirque de Soliel for Thursday (June 5?). We finally chose a hotel near Universal. . .Hyatt Plaza.

Paul is off work today due to an "odd" state holiday today. He loves the trip to the beach every year and then being able to sleep in today.

Have a great week!
Char

Char: The beach sounds wonderful. We have SNOW flurries here today & a freeze warning set for overnight w/ windgusts predicted of 30-40 miles an hour. Brrrrr. What happened to Spring??

What's your odd state holiday?

The IL legislature ammended the state budget one year to add a holiday for a Revolutionary War hero that was not even in our history book. Now most schools apply for a waiver to go to school anyway. What a joke.

Marion: I hope your back is doing better.

Hello to all! :flower3:

Mary. . .Alabama is the "home" of the Confederacy. So today is Confederate Memorial Day (only a State Holiday. . . school are open) In June, they will get Jefferson Davis Birthday off. . .

I don't know why they still "celebrate" these things! Oh tradition!

hi all - been busy all week or so - lots to do.
Abby had tubes put in her ears and all our attention has been on her. No more ear ainfections for a long while now. That is a big relief.

Love working for the hospital, still. The people are awesome

MARY: still having SNOW flurries??? whew, hope they go away soon.

MARION: how is your back?? hope it is much better.

CHAR: your trip is getting closer.

on my way down to Karen's now. going to stay with Abby today.

hope everyone has a great day.

Has gas reached $4 for anyone yet?? Eeeeekkkkk

just catching up on american idol. DAVID COOK is soooo good! everytime i hear him i want to buy the song he sang on iTunes because i love his versions! i love syesha too and david archuletta of course.

im real busy! i have a huge allday rehearsal of sunday and ive had long, late, and stressful nights at dance. its not the dancing, just teachers and other staff members. i dont know how to deal with it...this girl on staff does nothing while i do all the chores and i dont know what to say or do. ???

ohh! tomorrow im trying out for colorguard for next year...IN HIGH SCHOOL! =]]]]
im nervous and excited.

gotta go do my homework -----

Christine: actually, I am glad to see Brooke leave. She was so monotone to me each time. someone has to go - that's a shame each week.

I think Shaysa ??? is going home next week - what 'ya think?

how did colorguard work out?? I know you must have made it

im glad brooke went as well! i think syesha may be going home - but i hope she doesnt. she was amazing andrew lloyd webber week!

leaving for colorguard now...wish me luck!

Hello!
We have an absolutely perfect weather day - I'm about to go walk the doggy & enjoy it! I need to walk off the nervous energy I'm feeling for Christine & her Colorguard audition. She was so nervous when I dropped her off - Moms hate that!
Take Care, everyone!
:grouphug:

Gas is $4 in the city of Chicago & $3.70-$3.85 in the suburbs. Ughh!:sad2:

Patrick's baseball team is practicing on the other end of our suburb where they annexed in land. It takes 25 - 35 minutes to get there & w/ the increased gas prices it's really aggravating.

The weather warmed up again. We go from 30s to 70s w/in 2 days. Rain is forecast for tomorrow. I feel so bad for my students b/c it's prom. No pictures outside & they have to line up to get on the buses in the rain.

Have a great weekend!

Char: Confederate Memorial Day??? Doesn't the regular Memorial Day count??

Kay: Patrick had ear tubes. The surgery was great for him.

Christine: Good luck w/ the color guard. I'm sure you'll do great! :thumbsup2

i made colorguard!!!! the audition was fun and kinda easy. they made us find the list in the gym [we searched for forever before we found it] and everyone who tried out, made it. also the only new freshmen for next year besides me used to live down my street, and even though i havent seen her in a really long time, its nice to know someone [but i do know some of the other girls too]

gotta go --

Mary. . .they get both holidays!

All is well for our family. School is winding down!

June is going to be busy for us.

have a great week

Char
