June 1, 2008 7-Night Mexican Riviera Cruise All Aboard is now back on Land

hI ALL, WELOME NEW new friends. I am confused now. there is a thread going on the first page about food and drinks and where you pay, and this Andrew guy has me confused now. for drinks we pay through room service correct? but are they free with meals? on deck 9 all is free right? also for snacks, do we pay? where are the snacks? i heard you can order room service cookies and take them in the movies.
at dinner if the kids order a shirley temple do we pay for it? that's kinda like a soda.

also i read at cove cafe there is a glass case that has pastries in it that are free!!!
i am so loving this, it's our first cruise to remind everyone.

OK, is it true the water on deck 9 is super purified and tastes really good? i am re-thinking bringing the case of bottled water now. any suggestions

The only time your pay for non alcholic drinks is for froom service or in the bars Yes, they are free with meals and deck 9. The snacks you pay for are rigt before you go into see one of the musicals that I can remember. not sure about the shirley temple.

Yes, there is a glass case with pastries that are free. They are great. I like going into the cove for tea. Them make some great ones.

hope this helps.

Hi mendoza

We got the bottled water package last year, and REALLY wished we hadnt, but we are not REAL heavy bottled water drinkers we just thought they would be good to take on excursions, and have water in our room. We left with about 1/2 the water sitting out side our room for someone else to have.

I did not try the water on deck 9 although i have heard many say it is good.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHH the COVE and its pastries, I have to say this was my favorite place to get a sweet! Not even any of the deserts after dinner where any better! So i will be saving my sweet in take for the COVE!

There were a couple times we went and there where not pastries, and i heard soemone say there is cheese and crackers int he box soemtimes instead of pastries, GOOOD LUCK

Maybe we can ask the soecifics about times out on the main boards!

Oh you are going to love the cruise!!!!!!

I am a bit concerned about the dress my DD picked for FORMAl night unless we use it for semi formal and get her yet another one for formal!!!

it is a halter type dress, goes around the neck, scrunchie at the waist and hits her about knee length and has a bit of a netting come out the bottom, it is pink and white light polka dots.

ARE WE GOING TOBE TOOO UNDER DRESSED?????

i for some reason cant remember?

Last year we wore gowns for formal night I know everyone did not cuz noone at our table did but DID MOST?

and i guess if i cant rememeber does it matter.........:rotfl: :confused3

Your daughter's dress sounds adorable...
and I'm sure that it is fine, unless you are like me and just love to take your daughter dress shopping. princess:

From my perspective, most people do not go all out to dress up....
that being said, there are many that do... the men wear a tux and the women wear long formals or dressy slacks with a sparkly top.
My family does the tux/formal dress thing.... although my DH and DS complained that NOT EVERYONE was totally dressed up. It is a personal choice but I feel that if you are dressed enough to go to a wedding, you are ok. I have long formal dresses and dressy slacks with sparkly tops. I tend to freeze in the dining rooms so I like wearing the slacks more than the dress.

WE are BIG drinkers of bottled water...
we bring a case of large bottles of water from Costco per cabin and don't have any left over at the end of the cruise. That being said, the water on the ship is very good.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:rotfl2:

I did not have any of those before my last cruise, but after we got home i dreamed almost everynight for a week!

I kept dreaming that we used our vacation points and when we got there they did not have us in the system, and we did not have enough points.

The basic same dream for days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Hi Lynn,
Yes, that is DH and myself. It was taken during the 2005 celebration of Disneyland so we are wearing our gold ears... but DH had just been pooped on by a bird, ...ergo the face. :rotfl:

Here we are at Castaway Cay 2006.

My dream was good...sort of.
Nothing drastic like missing the boat or anything, it was just us pulling up to the curb and handing our luggage over to the porters and walking into the terminal...
then I woke up... that was it! :guilty:
I didn't get to get on the ship or even see it. But at least I was there!
:woohoo:

How close do you live to the port or to LA?

I have several questions about our stay after the cruise are you familiar with the LA area??????

Sorry Lynn, all I know of LA is to get the hell out of there. :rotfl:
Just kidding... but seriously, I don't really know LA very well. I have gone there for a few shows and convention type things, but that's it. I live an hour away from Disneyland and that is about as far north as I like to go.
If you have questions about Disneyland, I'm your girl. But I can check with other people if you want to know something specific about LA.

Ok I missed a lot again. Trying to get ready for NYC and the weather here has been gorgeous so we are outside a lot right now.

We don't dress too formal or semi formal. I do bring one cocktail type dress but other than that it is pretty much the same black pants with different tops. DD just wears a dress - people are all over the place with how they dress! I would suggest not even bothering to pack denim. It's too casual for the dining rooms and just not worth the suitcase space.

As far as I recall the only places you pay for soda are room service and at the theatre snack bar. The only food you pay for is at the theatre snack bar and Palo. But it is super easy to run up to Deck 9 and get a drink. I do wish they had free popcorn though - that is one thing I miss at the theatre - fresh popped popcorn!

Room service is fine and the food is free but its usually easier and faster to just run to Deck 9 and grab whatever you are in the mood to eat!

My eldest Dd lives in St Louis......
Where abouts do you live she lives VERY CLOSE to the AIRPORT!

She went to Gateway College there and met her DH thee and they have decided to stay there for now.
