 Plugged in June 24 & 25, 2006 (Fri & Sat) for HRH and was shocked to see the rack rate @ over $400+/night. Granted, the only room avail was a KS; but still - seems awfully high. RP $230+, Port $290+ for rack rate/standard.

With an AP disc the rates in Feb were about $130. I realize it was a slower/off season (the week before Pres. weekend); but still think the rates are awfully high.

Guess I'll have to book and then hope for AP/AAA/whatever discount to be offered. Anyone recall what they paid during the 3rd week in June this year or what discount they were able to obtain?

Thanks.

I paid $264 a night in June. Booked through Loews Hotels. Paid for a garden room, upgraded to a KS (platinum).

I'm sure they will release more rooms the closer it gets to your stay. I would keep checking back. Just recently they have had some good AP offers that worked out around $140 a night. You can even use the Power pass to get the discounts now.

Loews was very clear that I had to purchase the PAP to obtain the discount in Feb., when did they change the rules?

I specifically purchased the PAP for the room discount as we used the free/bonus offer for a total of 5 days in park. At times, AAA discount seems to offer a better rate than the PAP anyway.

When I switched my original res (AAA disc) to a PAP, they made me cancel the res & rebook. If I book a room now @ rack rate, do you think I'll have to cancel & rebook to obtain a discount once they're announced or will Loews just apply it to the existing res?

They started offering the Power pass discount a few weeks back. It's basically the same as the AP discount.

I would book your room now and see whats on offer nearer the time. There is no penalty for cancelling at least 5 days prior to your trip.

Did you say all they had available was a King Suite? I'm sure they will open more "blocks" of discounted rooms nearer the time of your stay. I doubt Loews would apply a discounted rate to your reservation automatically.

Actually, no discounts were yet available/posted on web site - the King Suite was the lowest priced room available. I thought that the RP usually has the convention groups, wonder if the HRH has something going on...probably should call the front desk, assume they'd let me know.

I noticed the other day that the AAA rates were not in effect for our date-May 28- so I called RPR reservations and the woman said that they are in the process of setting the rates for that time period. I agree that more rooms will be released closer to the date you need. We booked through expedia last year, then about 1 month before our trip,RPR released discounted rates. Too late for us but i wanted to be sure that we had a room. Oh well!

We are going the end of June, and my AAA TA said AAA rates should be available sometime in October.

Yes, type in PWR instead of APR rate on the Loews Hotels reservations site.

I did see this discount, but I also saw that the price of the Power Pass was now, the same as the Preferred Pass. Also, when I typed in dates, the "Power Pass" rate was cheaper than the "Preferred Pass" rate. I don't quite understand what's going on there.
