Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Next competition was a race to see who got the fastest time:

Oh, I forgot, when they were doing the wheelies, I went to the little girls' room and a truck caught on fire! I miss all the good stuff!

After the races, it was tough truck time. I didn't take any pictures of it because it's just local trucks who want to race each other. We have never been to one of these events where the local racers were worth a hoot and this time was no different. There were only two trucks entered. The first one was okay but the second one was horrible. It was a little Isuzu truck and it actually ran into one of the monster trucks down at the end of the arena because the dumb bunny couldn't drive worth a crap. You could tell the monster truck guy was ticked off and I don't blame him.

The tough truck race was over quickly and out came the tractors! I like tractor pulls and have been to several over the years. Jen, get Skip up to the computer so he can see if he knows any of these fellows. Notice I made sure you could see the name on each tractor:

Then they had the modified truck/tractor/whatevers:

The last portion of the show was the monster truck freestyle where the drivers could do anything they wanted as long as they wanted or until their truck broke down.

First up was the 16 year old. You could tell that he was a bit timid with his driving but I couldn't blame him. They had brought out even more cars and vans for the trucks to smash and he was first which meant he had to jump his truck higher to even get over them.

He had to stop because something on the front of his truck broke and they towed the truck out of the arena.

Next up was a modified Ford Mustang which was being driven by another semi-rookie who was being trained by the other Mustang driver:

Told you we were close:

This next truck was being driven by the oldest monster truck driver still in competition:

Up next was Strait Jacket and he needed a straight jacket because he was fearless. You can't tell it from the pictures but his truck tires are blue. (his hair was blue too)

You can see that there was a lot of dust in the air by the time he stopped (because he broke something on the truck).

Last but not least was the best of the best....Ghost Ryder!

See the dust he's stirring up in the next picture? Yeah, we saw it too.....as a huge cloud coming towards us.

Ghost Ryder was declared the champion as well he should have been! He was rough and tough and all that a Southern gal could want in a man. :lmao: And what kind of man every Southern man would want to be. :rotfl:

It was a fun night. There's hardly anything that comes to our neck of the woods so it was nice to get out and have a little excitement.

***Okay, I'm off to do a little work. I'm looking through the next set of pictures and I'm not sure I have our last day in order. I'll work on it and get an installment posted as soon as I can.

Yay for Lacey being at your home for 2 weeks. Bless Jesse for giving her up :goodvibes

The truck pictures are great! Glad you had fun and the right truck won!

I'll be sure to show them to Skip. I don't know a lot of the tractors, but he does. It looks like a class he might've used to run.

How wonderful that Lacey was able to come home for the shower and is staying straight through until the wedding. That is awesome! What a great story! Jesse really is a wonderful guy to support her that way.

I enjoyed your monster truck pics. I have heard they are very cool events. Can't say I've ever been to one, but those trucks are HUGE!

I know! I was so excited when she said that she would be home for so long. Jesse is such a sweetheart for recognizing how much we miss her.

We had a good time at the truck races. It's not something I'd want to do every weekend but it was fun.

I'll be sure to show them to Skip. I don't know a lot of the tractors, but he does. It looks like a class he might've used to run.

As soon as they said there would be tractor pulls, I thought of Skip. Let me know if he knows any of the competitors.

Jesse is so sweet and so thoughtful. He called the first night she was home and said "What was I thinking? I miss you!"

We started going to monster truck races when we were first married because of my sister and brother-in-law. They own Superlift Suspensions and used to get free tickets or at least reduce price tickets. They really are huge and LOUD!

How great that Lacey got to come home for the 2 weeks before the wedding!

Looks like you guys had a great time at the monster truck night! I've never been, but I'm a huge fan of the commercials for them "You'll pay for the whole seat, but only use the edge!!!!"

That's so wonderful that Lacey was able to be home for the time leading up to Ashly's wedding!! Jesse definitely sounds like a wonderful and thoughtful guy!! :goodvibes

That is really awesome that Lacey is home for two weeks! And good job on keeping the surprise!

We love Monster Trucks! I went to my first one when my DH and I were dating. We started taking our boys when they were 2(with proper ear protection). My husband was watching over my shoulder and he has never been so interested in a TR. He was so excited to see Clydesdale. He told me he remembers seeing Clydesdale about 25 years ago when he was in his early teens.

So glad that Lacey is home for two weeks. Jesse is an awesome guy.

We wanted to see Circ in Sept, but when I looked at tix, that was the week they were refurbishing! UGH! :lmao:

YAY for Lacey coming and staying home until the wedding!

Nice shots of all the trucks and Tractors! WHe I was younger, teeny bopperish, I love the monster truck "GraveDigger"!
We always went to the tractor pulls in Mackville WI

What a great surprise!!! Glad you were able to keep the surprise -- that's HARD!!!

Love the monster truck pictures. That kind of thing is right up our alley, too.

How wonderful for you all to have Lacy home for two weeks! You all must be so happy! She really found herself a wonderful man who knows how important these things are for her to experience! Enjoy the two weeks! They will fly.

Didn't Jen say you had a seat down in the front row or close to it at Cirque? I would not like sitting that close to the action. Too much takes place higher up and I know my neck would be tired.

Yep! I was in the VERY front row. Some of the acts were fine, but a few gave me a neck ache! And I almost had a biker in my lap! :scared1: :rotfl:

How wonderful that Lacey can come home for two weeks to join in the celebration! What a good man she has! I saw your update on Facebook, but I didn't realize the whole story behind it. :goodvibes

Great Monster Truck pictures! I have only ever attended one similar event, it was fun! It's so intense, those trucks, the noise, the dirt...you got some great shots too!

great picks of the monster trucks I remember watching them as a kid on Saturday mornings. I always liked Bigfoot and often remember they they would pop the hood when they one to show off the chrome engines they used in them.

That's great that Lacy was able to be there for the bridal shower and can stay for the wedding, I bet you guys are glad to have her home for a couple weeks.

Great Monster truck Pics, my 2 little nephews are REALLY into them! (they are 3 and about to turn 5)

AWE!! Welcome back Lacey! I know your family is so happy to have you back!! :goodvibes It shows you how much mutual respect for each of the families (Your family and Lacey's new family with her husband) that he would suggest giving his bride up for several weeks to see her extended family and for the wedding! :cloud9:
