Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Ok, I am FINALLY all caught up again!!! I love your Dinosaur pic (yes, I had inexplicably missed THAT much!), and that's so awesome about your table at Ohana! How fun that you were able to watch Wishes from there!

I'm always behind on my subscriptions so it's okay. We already have an idea of what we want to do for our Dinosaur pic this coming May.

I knew that I took more pictures on the boat ride over to the Polynesian.

***Okay, now I can move on the following day. Today, we were headed to Epcot. When we got to the bus stop we were greeted by this:

100_1732.jpg

100_1733.jpg

That's right, we had the bus stop to ourselves. I am not quite sure why since it was close to park opening. Maybe everybody had already gone to the park? Dunno.

Waiting for the bus:

100_1731.jpg

Before long, the bus came and we were off to Epcot. I think I've mentioned before that I had timed our bus rides to the parks. From the time we sat down on the bus at the Jamaica bus stop, made our way around to the other CBR bus stops and pulled into Epcot, it took us a grand total of 10, maybe 11 minutes. (We went to Epcot twice....once it took us 10 minutes and the other was 11 minutes.)

We made our way through bag check and were walking into Epcot:

Our first stop this day was Ice Cool Station:

**Up next: What position are you going to be? Come on.....get your heads out of the gutter and really think about what we did next!

Hi Lisa! Well, I'm going to take a guess at what you did next.....Mission Space???!!!!! Can't wait to find out!!!!

How much Beverly did you drink!:rotfl2: I will never forget my kids faces the first time I tricked them into drinking it, PRICELESS!

The dreaded Beverly! :lmao:

Crazy that the bus stop was empty, but at least you knew you would get a seat on the bus!

I'm going with Mission: Space for what you did next!

Love the Dinosaur picture, I had to call Dan over to check that one out and he laughed too!

Of course the highlight funny of this TR for me was the "sippy cup not a nippy cup"!:rotfl2:

We are so excited to stay at CBR again, I have been enjoying all your various photos you have taken through the years and can't wait to be there myself!

Love the great pictures of the Grand Floridian!

Good information to have! I'd have timed in a different way. I'd first time how long the wait was and then how long the actual bus ride took. The results would be the same but I'd just want to know the breakdown of the times. But then I keep spreadsheets of many things - most of which my wife thinks I'm crazy for doing so. As a former accountant I just love playing with numbers and spreadsheets.

Our first stop this day was Ice Cool Station:

I'm guessing John and Lacey didn't just try Beverly. I don't know why but each time I'm there I have to try me some Beverly. It still tastes horrible but I feel I have to try some. And maybe I like to make some funny faces while I'm drinking the stuff.

It's always nice to have the bus stops to yourself! I always love how even the soda machines at the resorts are themed!

Hmmm...Mission Space?

It is nice to have the bus stop all to yourself. A few others came a minute or two after us but it was still fairly empty.:thumbsup2

If the two of us ever get together on this timing thing, we'd be a force to be reckoned with. I always seem to run across posts that complain about the ride time, wait times, etc. so I like to see if they are truly accurate or not.

Lacey and John look like they had been throwing back a little of grandpa's hidden stash.:rotfl:

Uh-yeah, the sippy cup/nippy cup line. It's definitely true in my opinion.

I know that you're excited to be going back to the CBR. It's so pretty and I am countin' down the days myself.

The dreaded Beverly! :lmao:

Crazy that the bus stop was empty, but at least you knew you would get a seat on the bus!

We have always been very lucky with the buses at the CBR. They have always run efficiently and we pretty much always get a seat.

How much Beverly did you drink!:rotfl2: I will never forget my kids faces the first time I tricked them into drinking it, PRICELESS!

I know! They look like they have been drinking something much stronger than a Beverly. :lmao:

Hi Lisa! Well, I'm going to take a guess at what you did next.....Mission Space???!!!!! Can't wait to find out!!!!

You're about to find out!

Congrats to all who guessed that Mission Space was our next destination. Mama said there was no way that she was getting on it so she found a bench with an umbrella and said she'd wait on us. We got in the standby line and I am thinking the wait was about 20 minutes.

100_1742.jpg

No green side for us....we are all about spinning, turning upside down and hurling through space on the orange side. Are you scared? Lacey? Maybe. Hunter? No I'm cool with it.

100_1743.jpg

Now I had to think long and hard before I posted this next picture because it makes John and I look like we have not one, not two but three chins. But, I've embarassed myself with more than three chins already so I may as well post it:

100_1744.jpg

Once we were in the waiting area, I took a few pictures:

100_1745.jpg

100_1746.jpg

100_1747.jpg

And, then we were shown the pre-show and then directed to our spaceship. Let's do this!

All strapped in and ready for our mission:

100_1754.jpg

(Gosh I hate my lazy Bell's Palsy eye!)

Soon we were hurling (no pun intended) through space and pulling on the joystick with all our might as we were teeter tottering on the edge of the canyon. Yay! We were safe!

Walking down the hallway:

100_1756.jpg

When we walked outside, we saw that it had started raining and Mama was huddled underneath the umbrella with a couple of other folks. Thank goodness it wasn't raining too hard. We decided it was time for lunch and Electric Umbrella was just right there so that's where we headed.

**Need to stop here. A client is on the phone and needs something from their file.

We walked pretty quickly towards Electric Umbrella because it was drizzling rain. We ducked into the restaurant and were met with a little bit of a line but it wasn't too bad. We performed our normal routine....everybody tells me what they want, they go find a table, one of them comes back and helps me get everything to the table. Since Mama has her own KTTW card and dining plan, she stayed with me to order.

From the looks of this tray, we ordered chicken nuggets with fries, a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate chip cookie:

100_1757.jpg

And a strawberry cheesecake:

Closeup of the cheeseburger:

Chicken nuggets:

'nother cheesecake:

100_1761.jpg

Hum? I guess we must have all ordered cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets because I don't have other pictures. I remember it showering outside for a bit and us watching people trying to eat at the outside tables. I am now remembering that I made a dash over to Test Track to get Fastpasses before we went to eat. It was not almost time to use them so off in the direction of Test Track we went.

Boy does John have a somber looking face in this picture. Wonder what was up with that?

100_1762.jpg

Test Track here we come!

Hidden Mickey!

100_1769.jpg

***Gosh darn it! I need to stop. Hopefully, I won't be gone too long.

I have never done Mission: Space on Orange. I have ridden it twice, both times Green. The first time I had to because both of my sisters get motion sickness easily, so we rode Green together. I can't remember why I didn't do Orange last time though, since I never get sick from any type of ride. I plan on doing Orange Team this time though!

After finding the hidden Mickey, we were told to go on in and we waited until they opened the doors to the pre-show area. We saw the film where they tell us about what maneuvers we were about to do and then they pushed a few extra buttons :scared1:. ;) The doors opened and then we did the Disney step shuffle. You know that shuffle when there are multiple doors opening at once and you have step shuffle your way into line. Oh yeah....that Disney step shuffle!

It was our turn to board and we held on to Mama's elbow while she boarded. It's a bit hard for her to step down into the cars (and the boats on Pirate of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Living with the Land....well anything you have to step down into ). Mama, Lacey and Hunter were in the front:

100_1771.jpg

100_1772.jpg

Which means John and I were in the back. I don't remember if we had a single rider with us or not. We were then put through our series of tests:

100_1773.jpg

The brake test:

100_1774.jpg

The heat test:

100_1775.jpg

The extreme cold test (I was having flashbacks of the time we got stuck in the cold section and I almost pee'd myself........):

100_1776.jpg

The acid test:

100_1777.jpg

A couple of pics that I took while bumping, bouncing and wheeling around:

100_1780.jpg

100_1781.jpg

All the sudden the garage doors opened and we were outside and squealing our tires around the turns:

100_1782.jpg

Look at our top speed!

100_1783.jpg

It always tickles me when my Mama has so much fun on a ride and she certainly did. We helped her step out of the car and went into the car showroom. Hunter found one that he thought he'd buy. Here he is taking out his wallet to see if he had enough cash on hand:

100_1784.jpg

He was a few bucks shy of the total cost so she decided to just sit in them and pose for pics:

100_1785.jpg

He's a cooooool rider! He's a cooooool rider! (Sorry for the reference to Grease 2 but that's what I think of when I see this pic.)

100_1786.jpg

***I need to stop here and do a bit of work but at least I got a few installments posted today.

So was Hunter able to buy the car??? ;)

You guys definitely got a lot done in Future World! And you're much braver than I am to go on the orange side of Mission Space!! :scared1:

I really do not understand the people who complain about how long it takes for the bus to go around Caribbean Beach Resort. I much prefer being one of the first stop and having a better chance to get a seat, than having a shorter drive by embarking last, but risking to spend that drive standing up. :confused3

Wow - I missed a lot of updates recently. I love the pictures you took on the way to the Poly. The sun setting over the water is just gorgeous.

What a fun time at Epcot. I was going to guess Mission Space. does that count? :rotfl: You are all braver than me because I am a green teamer! Fun pictures inside the queue and inside TT. I tried some TT pics this trip but I don't think they turned out. :confused3

Yay! Lisa's pictures are back! Loving all the updates!

Dinner at 'Ohana looks fabulous. We did breakfast there on our last trip because we wanted the characters, but it looks like we should give dinner a try!
And we should also take the boat...gorgeous pictures!

Epcot is my favorite park...except for Mission Space, of course. I truly would be hurling! LOL! :lmao:

Great Epcot pics! I tried Mission Space this last trip in May but I did the Green side, it was me, my Dad and my BIL's Dad, (my BIL went on Orange) I chickened out at the last minute on Orange and decided to stick with my Dad.

The sunset pictures on the way over to the Poly are amazing! The chapel looks so pretty.

I can't believe the empty bus stop to EPCOT! Kudos to you for M:S Orange. Not gonna do it. Ever.

How wonderful that Mama had fun on Test Track!

Love your Epcot pictures and update.

We are going with most of the family at the end of May. The last time my dad and one of my brothers was there was over 10 years ago. We were total WDW newbies. Test Track had just opened and we all thought it was the Richard Petty driving experience so we didn't even go by it. The men didn't want to be tempted to shell out more money.

We didn't figure out what it really was until a couple of years later. So I was so excited my dad and brother would finally get to ride it on our upcoming trip. BUT it's going down for a major rehab and they will miss it again!

Oh well they still have a ton of new things to look forward too!
