I'm truly glad that you are here to read along. The wedding was hard to plan given the fact that it was so far away but I think it turned out well.

I used to post on another site as well but they didn't encourage any responses from other poster. I actually was told not to "chat" which I thought was unusual. But, like I said, I'm a talker so I thought others were that way too.

Please post the link to your trip report when you get started. I promise I'll be there to chat as much as I can.

I can just imagine than planning a wedding from another state was definitely a challenge!

Well, I finally caught up and I'm up-to-date on your TR to Disney and your TRs within your TRs. I really like the way you write. You have made me many times! I've wanted to comment on several things that you posted but I suppose I should've added them as I went along reading because I don't remember all of 'em now.

The one thought I do remember related to your posts is about Animal Kingdom. I LOVE that park! In fact, I love all things Disney and it kinda ticks me off when I read/hear others cutting it down. I think it balances things out nicely at WDW. Ya know? It's actually my Mom's favorite park because she loves animals. I like it because you can enjoy the animals without feeling like you're in a zoo and with little extras like the Festival of the Lion King and other Disney goodies!

You've talked me into posting my TR from my most recent trip to Disney on Disboards. I'll start it soon and will post a link. Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh, oh! I remembered something else I wanted to share. About your letters to Disney: GOOD FOR YOU! It was so great to read that someone else is outraged by the rising costs of Disney. I mean, honestly, don't they realize that a lot of us are struggling but we still want to come visit "The Happiest Place on Earth?"

I'm one of those who would love to go back to WDW (or any Disney park) every year. And I have friends and family who will say to me "But you just went to Disney World!" In other words, they don't get it. But I still want to go every year. So far, I've been in '72, '98, '08, '09, and '11 but it doesn't look like we'll be able to make it in '12, even if we were able to secure a pin code or take advantage of a free dining offer. It just makes me wonder what Walt would've thought about it. I mean, he started DL so families would have a place to spend time together and not just rich families, just families. *Okay, stepping off my soapbox now. *

Lisa, sorry to jack your report- I just wanted to tell Kathy that the secret AK trail is so worth looking for! Especially for the closeup views you get of the Tree of Life.

I intended to take better pictures describing and showing the location on our last trip, but this is what I have. You can see the path heading off to the right before the big column marked "Africa". Here are a couple of photos from the trail, too.

Animal Kingdom was getting very crowded and very hot at this point. But we had a secret destination in mind- there is a quiet unmarked trail that runs through Discovery Island. It starts here, just after the bridge from Africa to Discovery Island and ends near the exit of It’s Tough to be a Bug.

It was so peaceful, a little cooler due to the trees and there were very few people.

In case some of you haven't heard of it...we have a Louisiana New Year's Day tradition. They (whoever the heck they are ) say if you eat black eyed peas and cabbage on New Year's Day, money will come your way in the new year. I seriously think that the ones that I ate last year were defective because I didn't see many buckaroos filling up my wallet in 2011. But, I figure I'll give it a try again tomorrow and see how it turns out for me in 2012.

I never knew where the tradition came from but posting here made me think about it so I turned to Wikipedia and here is what I found "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Rabbit rabbit" is a common British superstition. The most common modern version states that a person should say "rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit", "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit", "rabbits, rabbits, rabbits",[1] "rabbit, rabbit" or simply "white rabbits" upon waking on the first day of each new month, and on doing so will receive good luck for the duration of that month. In the United States, the tradition is especially common in Nantucket, Cape Cod, other towns within Massachusetts, and throughout Vermont, notably in Middlebury and Chester." So.... I'm a fellow New Englander, and I agree that we don't have any special New Year's Day food, but you can't get anywhere near a Chinese Food restaurant on NYE. Is that regional or all over the country? I remember having to call a day or two ahead to place your order on New Year's Eve.

Dee, you know that I don't mind you hijacking, especially when there are great pics included. When I saw the last picture, the piece of bark scared me. My first thought was that it was a cobra.

Definitely look for the Tree of Life trails. There are quite a few animal enclosures and more tree carvings along the trails.

No wonder you like eating in Germany at Epcot! I like pork but I could definiltely live without the sauerkraut.

Have you ever had black eyed peas? We grow them in our garden every year so all we had to do was pull some out of the freezer. Hey.....I wonder if I get multiple money blessings if we eat them all year long?
