Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

What are the mugs from RFC that freeze??? It sounds like something I'm going to want! :rotfl:
Those photos from World of Disney are really pretty!

They are large plastic mugs that have two layers. In between the layers is a liquid that will freeze solid when placed in the freezer. The frozen layer keeps your drink cold without having ice cubes in it that will water your drink down as they thaw. One tip though in case you do buy the mug: Make sure that you freeze the mug upside down or it will crack when you pour your drink in it. The lady at the Rainforest Cafe register told us that.

I love your AK photos! I don't know if those trees are real- are they baobob trees? I always wondered if the termite mounds are real.

I'm going to answer your questions about the trees, so if anyone doesn't want to know, don't read the rest of this.

The ones on the safari are fake. They are made of concrete, as are the termite mounds. The ostrich eggs are fake too. They can lay eggs, but they don't leave them out there since the ostrichs come in at night and the eggs would all die without being covered at all times.

There is a real Baobob tree in AK, but it is not during KS. It is by Tusker House and was actually found living in Miami on a woman's property who sold it to Disney.

I figured they weren't real. Especially the termite mounds and the eggs. I knew they wouldn't leave them out there for all there for all the world to see.

Thanks for the tip about the mugs! :thumbsup2 I'm definitely going to look for one when I go to Vegas.

The GF looks beautiful, but I have to agree with Mama. I'd be afraid to touch anything! The food looks good ,though.

I love Animal Kingdom. I know it can be a hotly debated topic here on the DIS, but I think it is a gorgeous park. I love all the little theming touches throughout the grounds. Great safari pics! Especially the very rare "back of the seat" shot! LOL!

LOVED the AK post!!! I love AK so much because I think the Imagineers did such an amazing job in all sections! And it is just "different" from the "normal" Disney parks! Plus I adore animals and KS is full of them!!! :goodvibes

I'm a big fan of AK. I know for some people it's a half a day park, but we actually spent a day and a half there last time. And we didn't get to see everything! We didn't miss too much, but I know we didn't get to walk the trails around the Tree of Life to watch the animals and admire the beautiful carvings on the tree.

I too love the safari. Last Jan when we were there we saw the baby elephant and he was nursing on his mom...what a thrill. I took a picture of course. I really don't feel like I am in a theme park at AK. It is so relaxing. I love the Lion King show also!

Animal Kingdom is actually my favorite park! I spent 2 days there last November, and will be spending 2 days there in February. I love all the parks for their own reasons, but something about AK makes me love it even more. The pictures are great!

Hope you had a great Birthday!

I totally enjoyed all your AK pictures. It must have been so cool to see AK right after opened and be able to compare it to what it is now. It really is a living, breathing park. I absolutely love it and will never tire of all the fascinating details.

I did a double take at your first rain forest cafe photo and the UD T-shirt. Delaware is so small so its fun to see a University of Delaware T in someone else's photos.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I recognized your husband and wasn't sure from where until I looked at the rest of the family! I've been reading along but not posting as usual, not sure what it says about me that I post when I make an appearance in the report. :rotfl2:

My DD, Nikki and I think you are a celebrity! It was a pleasure to meet you in person. We will be there in April 2012, maybe we'll see yu there?

Happy new year to you and your family!

Write on!

Hey Lisa- first off, a belated Happy Birthday to you. Sorry I didn't have a chance to post on your actual special day!

I loved your down day and AK morning updates.

Tell me about the monkey cupcake please! I see from the label that it has peanut butter frosting. Is the cake chocolate and banana?

Love all the pictures of your family at the Grand Floridian. Especially the one of you and John. You guys look great!

Your meal looked really good and I agree with your call on the dessert sampler. YUM!

I have never been to the GF. I hear that the GF Cafe is amazing, but there are so many other places we enjoy that I'm not sure we will ever make it there.

You had some great animal views on your safari ride!

Those are my thoughts exactly! I love all the little nooks and trails.

I could make this park a day and a half or even two day park. I didn't get to walk around the tree trails this time either and I was bummed.

What a great moment you got to see! I was happy to see the baby elephant out. One of my friends went on the safari when it was raining and the elephants were all in the water playing. She got some great pictures.

Animal Kingdom is actually my favorite park! I spent 2 days there last November, and will be spending 2 days there in February. I love all the parks for their own reasons, but something about AK makes me love it even more. The pictures are great!

I can certainly see why Animal Kingdom would be one of your favorites since you are such an animal lover. I love how they have the animal enclosurs in secluded areas and you just happen upon them.

Hope you had a great Birthday!

The Animal Kingdom opened somewhere around the middle of April and we went the middle of May. I need to find my pictures from that trip so I can compare how the park has grown.

Very cool that you spotted a UD shirt in my picture!

Yay! I'm am sooooo happy to see you here! I told John that I had wish I had your name or at least your username so I could mention it here. I wish we were going to be in Disney in April so we could meet again. Our trip dates for 2012 are May 23rd to June 2nd so we'll miss each other be a few weeks.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful do-nothing (but had to go to work) day.

The monkey cupcake was delish. It had a banana cream type filling and the frosting had a not-too-sweet peanut butter flavored icing. I wanted to get another one later in the trip and they were sold out. I can certainly understnd why.

As I said, the Grand Floridian Cafe was good as was the service but it will be a while before we go back. Because, like you, there are so many other places that we want to try.

Hey Lisa!!!

Great update, as usual! I love AK! Even though we always get so stinking hot there, it is so worth it!

Oh, and happy belated birthday! I can't believe I missed it. Poop.

Hope you had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!!

Our family loves AK also! The Lion King show is awesome! Camp Minnie/Mickey is one of the best places to see characters.

Looks like we will be in Disney at the same time!! We arrive on May 27, but are only staying til the 31. (Unless we get that free day from Disney World...come on big announcement!)

BTW - our Carnival Sensation cruise was awesome! We had 24 family members, and we all loved it!!!

Looking forward to more updates!!:yay:

Hey everybody! As Dana said I have been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest! Right now, I actually feel like I was the one having their butt kicked. :lmao: I am so dog tired. I know that I promised pictures of the wedding and now of the latest reception but, in all honesty, I haven't gotten them all uploaded to my newest photobucket account.

But, get your hankies ready because you are going to need them. Why? 'Cause here's the link to the video montage of the wedding. I did so good and only cried one or two tears during the wedding but boo-hoo'd my way through the video.

I am just now reading your trip report. I loved the wedding video and you guys did a great job!! My daughter and I both cried during it!! Give our love and best wishes to them!!

I am finally all caught up! BTW, I am usually a lurker but I am trying to come out of my shell more. I love all the mini reports and your trip report. You always make me laugh.

Happy late birthday!

I am happy your friend's health is better.

I am so glad that your mom's heart checked out okay. I am a BIG TIME worrier too. In fact, I think after my hysterectomy is has gotten worse. My hubby is always telling me I worry enough for everyone. :rotfl:

We have a busy weekend, but I wanted to wish you a
