July5,2003 Magic...who's going?

Shelley: If Denise's advice doesn't help, get back to me. I think I still have the original package from CC....I just have to dig it up!

Denise: My contact was Amy and she was very efficient. Maybe you can try her. Just a reminder......the brunch should now be on MONDAY!

I'm debating what to do about the wine package......if we order one then we won't also order those delicious drinks they have at dinner every night. Right now I'm having a willpower battle.....I know the wine is better for me, but I so enjoy all those novelty drinks. What to do, what to do......(And if anybody says have them both, I'll clobber him/her!)

OK, I'll risk geting clobbered ;) Here is a thought for you though. If you DO get both, you can take the wine home you don't drink onboard. We didn't drink all of our bottles last year and took our favorites home with us to enjoy and think about the cruise. Just a thought. I will be easy to spot when the ship leaves port; I'll be the one with the black eye. :D

nope july 26th anyone on here sailing on this cruise with a dd12? sooooooooo excited!!!!:smooth: ;)

After giving it some thought, I came to the conclusion that the deal at the Radisson is just too good to pass up, so we'll also be staying there the night before the cruise. One of the things we really want to do is check out Verandah Man's favorite restaurant, so I'm thinking that if all goes well, we should arrive about 9pm. Is that too late to meet anybody? Hubby will drive us all to the port, then come back with either the shuttle or in a cab.
If he's just one passenger with no luggage will he need a shuttle reservation?

I read that you cannot put medications in checked baggage. Is that right? I will carry Nicholas' "important meds" with me in the carry on, but wanted to also bring things like Tylenol, cough meds, Pepto, things like that. Can I not pack those in my suitcase?

What about bottled water? Wanted to pack it (about six bottles) in my suitcase because it will be so heavy to carry in a carry on.

Amy

Steve - I plan to fix that before we cruise. Only problem is, I'll have to come back and beg the tag fairies to update my tag :)

Amy - I don't know what the rules with medication are, but I suggest bringing them on carry on anyway, in case there is any problem with your luggage.

As far as bottled water goes, I've heard that you can pick some up in Key West. Why bog yourself down.

OK I've spent 45 minutes on the phone. First with Tanya who said I could book it if I had gotten my reservations through DCL but since I was part of the AAA "group" I had to ge through them. Next a call to the travel agent giving her Tanya's #. OK I though all set. . . . .nope! The travel agent calls back and said Tanya misunderstood me, they only do group ressies for dinner. Now I know that can't be right since we have them for tea.

This has been frustrating. So it's on to plan B and making sure I am first in line at Palo.

That glass of wine at the Radison poll is looking better every minute.

We booked through DCL. Do you want me to give it a try? Send me the info you have and I'll call Tanya tomorrow.

Thanks Wendy and Sjbakerus about the wine info. My dh and I are not big wine drinkers, we do like a glasss here and there (more him than me), we like specialty drinks too. My friend WendyP and I (since we are sitting all together) were wondering if it's worth splitting a package and if they allow you to do this. We will have to see.

Denise: I booked through DVC, but called DCL direct for the tea ressie. Maybe they're giving you a hard time because it's a chargeable item whereas the tea is free? I don't know.... One thing I do know is that the staff at DCL is not very consistent. I have never been able to get any sort of an onboard credit from them even though I have qualified in numerous ways. They have always told me that if you pay wholly or partially with points you're ineligible for any further credits, but I know that others on this board have gotten them. It can be very frustrating........

I say go for both - you have to stand up for what you believe in - even if it means getting clobbered. Just make sure I have had plenty to drink before you take aim.

I am dreaming of the glass of wine - and laying poolside - and well need I say more.

Still no documents:(

Documents or not - I will be cruising in 20 something days.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

After reading all the hype about "Pirates of the Carribean", I'm assuming the premiere will occur while we're onboard. You will have to scoop me up off the theatre floor......... I am madly in love with Johnny Depp! (True, I'm probably old enough to be his mother but everyone needs a fantasy!)

I sent you a PM with the numbers. Good luck.

Jean: I'll be with you at the Pirates movie. I've been waiting for this one for a while. Next is haunted mansion with Eddie Murphey.

Denise - I PMed you back, but if anyone knows this answer, please pipe in. How many people are we trying to make the reservation for?

Here is the list as I have it

John and Shelly
Wendy and Doreen
Denise and Andy
Sandy and Judy
Jesse and Amy
Sue and Jay

I hope I haven't left anyone out.

BTW I called "perfect gift "today they seem wonderful and very accomadating. Hope DH likes his anniversary gift.

I'm on the phone with Jeannette now. It's lucky I had all the room numbers, she's going to try and group us together so we can make the reservation. I will report back soon.

Sorry, guys, I failed you all. I spoke to Jeannette and then to Germain, her supervisor and pleaded our case, but all I got was the party line, "We only take advanced bookings for shore excursions and people in suites for Palo reservations."

And to make matters worse, Jeannette claims that we do not have the High tea reservation either and that they told the travel agent that.

So, we're back to the ressie rush in 22 days. Sorry.

This is a classic example of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. I have a email confirmation from DCL Group Services that our tea reservation is CONFIRMED! If I was a little more computer savy, I'm sure there's a way I could scan and post it. Actually, I can probably forward it to everyone's individual email address if it's on Sandy's list. No time to do it now, but I'll try later. Trust me, our high tea ressie is good and I don't know what she means about talking to the travel agent....I made the ressie directly with DCL.

Thank you everybody for all your hard work - it WILL all come together! I know how aggravating it is when you get different stories. We had to wait 2 months before this cruise was confirmed as DCL weren't willing to give us the $200 stateroom credit for booking on board through our TA - I still won't believe it until I see it.
AnnaS - I am sure you can split the wine package although it would probably be easier for one of you to pay and the other reimburse you.
Thank you again.
Wendy

Jay and I were not planning on doing the brunch at Palo. I'm doing the high tea without Jay.

Anyone interested in the pool questions I had, check out the other post on it.
