Wow, it's been very quiet out here for awhile. I just took a count and saw there are now 14 families that have signed in.....it's going to be an awesome group!
I don't know if the men would object, but since high tea at Palo is usually considered a "female" thing, I was thinking it might be nice to make a group ressie for any of the ladies that were interested in having tea together. I don't know if the same age restrictions apply for high tea, but some of our daughters are definitely old enough to attend and it would be nice to bring them along. We could decide on a mutually agreeable day and time and then whoever gets closest to the front of the ressie line can make it. Since there's no charge for high tea, nobody stands to get burned if some people decide not to show at the last minute.
Let me know what you think about it.

That's an intriguing idea, Jeanne. Once I can get my wife to focus on thr trip , I'll mention it to her.

Speaking of which, I just spoke to her a few minutes ago and she was on the other phone with Amtrak, making our plans to get down there. Now it's starting to feel like we're in the home stretch!

Mum and I would love to join everybody for High Tea - we always go and enjoy it. It is the only time in the year that I drink tea!

JeanneG and gometros: We are from Crofton, MD. We are staying in rms 2135 and 2137 and have late dinner seating. We will be staying with relatives in nearby Rockledge FL before and after cruise. Still looking over excursions and appreciate all the good info on the board. Based on wendym and others recommendation we will try to set up stingray city tour through Melvins?We will try to sign up this week.

We got our excusrsion information this weekend. While I don't think we'll be doing any Disney excursions this time, I believe Elana wants to do the teen junkanoo on Castaway Cay. I'd love to do the Atlantis Submarine, but at $350 a person...I DON'T THINK SO!

I also received the excursion package last weekend and even though I swore I wouldn't overbook our schedule, the catamaran races in Key West sound like so much fun! We've never been to Key West, so I was really interested in just walking around, but now I'm torn. We've already booked the short Sting Ray trip with Capt Marvin and we plan to do the Tulum excursion which is pricey, but it's the reason we chose the Western itinerary. Since we won't be spending any money on food, it's not too hard to justify the expense. Besides, if I let my kids go shopping in Key West it may end up costing me more! What to do, what to do?
Anybody have any thoughts on the matter?

Hubby and I are not really sun/water people, but we don't want to miss the stingrays so we're doing the short trip that leaves at 11:15 (meet at waterfront at 10:45). I considered doing the earlier one when the sun isn't so strong, but then we'd have to hightail it off the ship and with tendering and all, I didn't want to feel rushed. I don't know how many boats they send out, but it would be fun to do it together. See if you can tie our reservations. "Family of 4 from Raleigh" should do the trick but if you need my last name, let me know and I'll pm you.

That's the one I was looking at, for the same reason. I couldn't see getting everyone up early enough to make an 8:00am meeting time. I think the two hours is enough and leaves us time for lunch and to expereince the island by doing something else in the afternoon.

We're soooo excited.....we just booked Capt. Marvins' too for the 11:15 2 hour trip....I wonder how many people they hold on each boat....there's 5 of us (2 adults, teenager...ugh, and 2 children ages 9 and 10- 2days later on cruise). Should be a lot of fun, my kids don't care about anything else other than the stingrays.
