JULY WEATHER: Too hot to enjoy the parks?

It's already been said, but if you'll indulge me, this Floridian will echo earlier responses and ask, what's your definition of "Fall"? Because those 80-degree temps don't show up around here until late Oct. if we're lucky, Nov. more realistically. Personally, I'll take early July over early Sept. any day. For reasons I don't understand, the humidity doesn't seem quite as oppressive in June and early July as it does in late Aug./Sept.

If you have a choice, go in the fall. But as others said, September is still "summer" in Orlando. It doesn't normally start to cool down until October and even then, it can still get hot, but the later you go in October, the less likely you are to have temps above 90.
If I had to pick an ideal time based on the weather, it would be March/April or late October/early November. Those times it is normally warm, but not too hot.

But if you don't have a choice, you can still survive a summer trip. You just need to stay out of the parks from about noon to 5pm. Early mornings, afternoon breaks, and late evenings are the way to go. The one nice thing about summer is that the parks are typically open later, so you have more evening hours to enjoy and it's easier to take afternoon breaks. Once the sun goes down, it's definitely more tolerable. But it can still be in the 90s, even at 10:00 at night.

We are going in July .. mainly because it's the only time my boyfriend can get off of work. I am in graduate school, so school months were out for me. However .. I am graduating this May so we TECHNICALLY could have scheduled a fall trip .. but I am way too impatient to wait til fall :)

One word, February! Plus the pools are a lot less crowded. Only people from Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota on those balmy 50 degree nights.

If you have any other time you can go besides July and August, I'd suggest that hands down.

Not only is it scorching hot in the summer, it is more crowded as well. So you are hot and then there are people around you making you more hot (and stinky).

Or Canada! :thumbsup2

I don't think you could pay me to go in July in that humidity! I just wilt, but then we can go whenever so it is easy for us.

It really depends on how you tour. Personally ~ we hang by the pools during the day and tour after dark. July was a GREAT time to do this as the parks were open very late and the pools are awesome and entertaining during the day.

I'd also just like to point out people don't get sick from weather/temps... they get sick from germs. So that could very well still happen.

Hurricane season runs from June 1 until November 30. Not to say you should expect hurricanes, but Florida will be experiencing humid tropical weather patterns during that time. It takes a rare cool front to make September any cooler than July most of the time.

It is what it is. As a Floridian I love it! Humidity is good for the skin. ;)

We are trying to figure out if we should go in July or the fall to WDW.
I see the temps are usually 92 degrees in July and 82 in the fall.
The last time we went was in late July early Aug and it was over 103 deg in the MK.... I remember I didn't care about stuff because I was so HOT I couldn't even think! My shirt was soaking wet and I had sweat POURING down my back and I got sick from going into the cold a/c on the rides while i was soaking wet.

We are excited to go and were thinking of having fun this summer instead...
What is the typical weather there in late July?
Any good tips on staying cool?

We go in mid-late July and yes it is HOT. I want to say the temps during our trips are high 90s-low 100s with a lot of humidity making it feel like it is in the 100s everyday. The best things to beat the heat would be to wear clothing that is light and airy and drink plenty of water. If you start to feel like heat is getting to you wet a towel and wipe your face, neck, and arms. It cools your body temp a bit. Try to stagger things that are air conditioned with outdoor things, that way you are not constantly in the heat. Taking a dip in your resort pool or going to a waterpark for part of the day also helps. I have also noticed on days where I ate foods with more sodium that the heat bothered me more, so I guess keep that in mind :).

You should go in the fall, no question about it. The only people who should go during the summer are those who have no other choice.
I would not say the only people who should go during summer are those who have no other options. I understand that summer is a time that a lot of parents take their children as they are out of school for the summer. However, DH and I currently have no children and have gone every July since we have gotten married to celebrate our anniversary. People go to Disney for many different reasons during many different times ;).

July is miserable there. Being from the south I am used to humidity, but being in it all day is just horrible. I vote for fall!!!

I would not do July given the choice. And since we have the choice, we avoid it! We went one Memorial day weekend and it was a tad bit too hot. Our last trip was in Nov and we had one day that the humidity was so high that the 84 degree temp was even too uncomfortable! We could deal with it - but had to take a swim break. It did not work well with our normal touring style. So, we would even avoid Oct due to how we like to tour, forget about July. We live in the southeast so we are used to the heat. But used to the heat and wanting to hang out all day in it are two different things.

So, do the fall but even in doing the fall know that you could have a couple uncomfortably warm days. The difference is that it's easier to deal with in the fall compared to the summer when it's hot.
