Husband and I have been told we can go away for a few days just the two of us no kids. I am leaning towards a trip to disneyland. we would be at the parks thursday, friday, saturday fly home sunday.
Not sure which weekend in july yet.

Wondering what park hours are usually like in july. How hot does it really get weather wise? and would you recommend park hopping? (we don't normally park hope when we have the kids we just do 2 days in each park). This will be the first time its just us adults !!!

Anything we shouldn't miss that is geared more towards adults?

My DH and I did this a few years ago. We had a great time! We had park hoppers simply so we could wander and just enjoy. For us (as it was our anniversary) we splurged on a waterside table at the Blue Bayou. It is family friendly but man it was amazing to relax at a nice dinner for just us. We also sat and watched all the parades, fireworks, water show pretty much what we wanted to do. We also took the time to start on one side of every street and went up and looked in every single shop. Something my teens wouldn't be willing to do. We did the store thing in DL as well as CA. We always go at the middle to end of July. It is busy, but I don't think any busier than any other time anymore. Our big hint is to take a break in the middle of the day when it is the hottest and have a relaxed lunch somewhere. We would also go back to the room and take a nap or swim if we felt like it. Just my 2 cents.

DH and I are doing that this summer, also in July (2nd weekend)! I've never been that time of year, but I am totally anticipating big crowds so we're planning to take advantage of the single rider lines :) Love the above poster's suggestion about getting a waterside table at Blue Bayou, we will definitely be doing that.

We were there last May as a family right after the 60th celebrations began, so I'm not sure if we'll make the parade, fireworks, or world of color a huge priority since we've seen them - but if you haven't, definitely consider it.

Since our tickets are through the military, we get 3-Day park hoppers so that's all I have experience with and it was nice to go back and forth last year. DL is open a couple of hours later than DCA too so if you like to stay late in the parks, it might be nice to have the hopper option? Probably not as necessary if you don't plan to stay until midnight of course :)

I'll definitely be watching this thread for ideas.

It will be very, very hot and crowded, especially on Saturday. I wouldn't consider going without having park hoppers. Both parks have extended hours in the summer.
