Anyone see early/mid July Room discounts? I am also an AP but I don't see any yet. I realize this is a popular time to go so they may not offer anything during July.

AFAIK, there are no codes/discounts for the general public which are directly available through Disney for July at this time. The current AP rates only go through June 15th. I believe that the current room-only discount for the general public also goes through that date. The current package discount (Memory Makers Package) conveniently skips the period from 06/16-08/14/2014.

What this tells me is that the only discount that you might be able to get during that time period will have to be gotten through a 3rd party such as AAA, Orbitz, Expedia or a travel planner that buys up rooms at convention rates and resells them.

I know that Orbitz has a code that is good for a 20% discount (DISCOVER). It works for Disney resorts but I don't know how long it will be good. I checked a random week (6/29-7/6/2014) just now and it is still working and the Disney resorts are included. They are room-only reservations and cannot be converted into a package. The only problem (if you consider this to be a problem) would be that you must pay for the entire reservation at the time of booking. However, for a 20% discount during a period when there appear to be no other discounts, it might be well-worth it.

BTW, the Orbitz reservation is eligible for free cancellation, in the event that you find a better deal.

I also want to add that there were discounts that became available for the mid-June thru mid-August period last year. Those codes were released in late March and early April for the Disney Visa cardholders and the general public, according to Mousesavers.com. Discounts for FL Residents and AP holders came out much later (late April/early May), which is what one would expect given that they are typically made in an effort to fill the rooms that the general public isn't clamoring to book.

Thanks for your help. I may wait a bit and see if anything shows up.
