So neither July or August sounds appealing to me given we just went in October and typically go the first week of June. However, due to my growing kids schedules and a possible promotion at my job it may be July or August or wait another year. Please tell me it's not that bad or to just wait till Oct 2016.

I am in the same boat. I normally go in December each year. Last year I didn't as I had just started dialysis. Now I will probably be having a kidney transplant shortly so for me that would mean no rides for at least one year. So I decided to book a trip July 19-26. I can only drink 44 ounces of fluid a day and that Florida sun should test that!

I have not been to Disney on July or August, we normally go the first week of September, right after Labor Day and crowds are really low.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but, we're going next week (Father's Day weekend), have you been during that time? How are the crowds?

I have been over Fathers Day. It is just really started to amp up on crowds that week. That time of year we rope drop, go back to hotel at lunchtime and back to park late afternoon for the evening. That way you miss the most crowded part of the day and the heat of the day. Now with the fast pass plus this makes that type of schedule even easier. :).

We have been there on August, December, February and July. We dislike July a lot. August is not that bad. If you manage to go after the second week the crowds are better. It will be hot but what we do is go very early and take a break during the middle of the day.

It could be a possibility, but I feel like we would miss out. We love the parks!
I had thought the same thing. My dh and I both LOVE WDW, but my husband wanted to try a cruise last year to see something new. I agreed, as long as it was a Disney cruise. I was so bummed for the entire year leading up to it, thinking I didn't want to go and just wanted to be in the parks instead. I wasn't looking forward to it AT ALL. However, I literally had such an incredible time, that I now can't decide which I love more, parks or cruising! A DCL cruise is unexplainable...it is absolutely wonderful with LOTS of Disney magic! If cruising really isn't something you would think you'd enjoy, that's fine...but don't rule it out because you feel like you would miss out! I think you'd be amazed by how pleasantly surprised you'll be!

Due to my job we always go in July or August. The crowds are bad but we prefer August because the tour groups are mostly gone. In July the parks are overun with Brazillian teenagers. Both months the weather is hot but we dont mind. You're in and out of ac. As you probsbly know there are afternoon showers. only once in 25 years did it rain for half a day.

We have been going the last week of August for the past several years and yes it is hot and humid but crowds are much lower than, say, July. We always start our day fairly early, duck in and out of the A/C when possible, take afternoon breaks either napping or swimming, then head back out to the parks. After all these years, we don't even mind the heat anymore, we're just glad to be in Disney :). Oh and as far as the rain, we've never encountered anything terrible. It's usually over within 30 minutes.

August is definitely better than July in my opinion. Due to my wife being a teacher we have to vacation during the summer months. We've gone in June, July and August. We only go in August anymore. The later in August, the better, due to the crowd levels getting lower each week as August progresses. Not having to deal with all of the Brazilian tour groups is a plus as well.

Wife and I are both teachers as well. We always vacation when the "rest of the world" is too. Just some strategy to handle heat and crowds and you'll be fine.

Last week in August is a great time to go. Not very crowded because most of FL goes back to school in late August.

Another vote here for the last week of August.

Early August is about the same as July.

When we lived in Kentucky it was very unusual for families to take the kids out of school for a Disney trip. Now that we live in the Atlanta area it seems to be the norm. After going in July this year I have a feeling we'll be taking our daughter out of school and going in the fall next year.

I hate that we are having to go in July, but we are working around my husband's work schedule, one daughter's cheer schedule and another daughter's basketball schedule. They are too old now to pull out of school for vacation, so we are stuck traveling with the rest of the world. I expect to hate being in a theme park in July, but it is where our children have been begging to go for years, so . . .

Friends of mine (in South Carolina) was reprimanded by the town for taking their 5 year old out of kindergarden to go to Disney for a week. They have to go to some classes on parenting now.

July is quite hot, but try not to plan on hating it. Getting to the parks early is a huge help, along with breaks in the afternoon -even if it's just resting somewhere in the park w/ the A/C and the evenings are more pleasant. Is this your first trip to WDW? You'll find it very different from other theme parks. There is a lot more to do inside. For example: Busch Gardens, Williamsburg is a beautiful park..but summer there is hardly bearable. There aren't a lot of things for families to ride together and everything except a couple shows is completely outdoors in the heat. WDW however, is designed with families in mind. So, there's a lot do to together and a lot of the attractions are indoor rides, which provides a respite from the heat.

For real? Whoa.

Yup, and in kindergarten. If the kid was out of school all the time or too much, ok, but one week and that's it?
