July Exercise Challenge

feeling good for the first day in a long time.

morning run - 37 minutes
lunch break strength - 23 minutes
evening walk - 41 minutes = 101 for the day

1170/1200 - only half an hour to go!!!

We've all done so well this month. Go team!

I had 95 minutes of walking today. I'm going to run tomorrow evening - just a short 3 mile run with a friend. The massage yesterday worked wonders. My right calf was pretty sore yesterday, and my legs felt fatigued overall. Today I feel 100%.

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement! I'm still beaming over the challenge.

Around the entire perimeter of our house we had mulch with shrubs, rhododendrons, boxwood, hydrangea etc. The beds were 3ft wide in front and on side about 5ft in back a very large section about 8x20 on one side of deck and 8x8 on another side.

We raked out all of the old mulch, put the black weed matting down, and borrowed a friends trailer to pick up 3 trips worth of white rock (not sure what its called. It's white and about the size of a fist or a little bigger).

We shoveled each and every rock off the trailer (DH doesn't like to dump the rock on to be sure the matting didn't move, I wouldn't have cared. :lmao:. Definitely Xerscaping! ;) My arms still hurt!

We still have the 8x8 area and a little on the side. We are adding a retaining wall but we are tapped out of funds so that will either wait until later in the season or next yr. Disney is more important lol! Would love to add a waterfall feature, but I am afraid its a long way off right now.

I love all the colors in the first post. Wish some of the others would post so I could change their colors! If you see them anywhere send them a note!

Tomorrow is the last day of this challenge. Are you thinking about your goal for next month? You did awesome in July!!

Anybody want to host next month? I'd do it again but I will probably be gone the last week and that's a big updating week.
 
2541/2800 1093 minutes and 100 miles of running in 10 days - I am done!! As I was rounding mile 9 in the pouring rain, I couldn't wipe the grin of my face if I tried. When I decided to do this, it was never a question of if I would finish. It was how I would finish. I wasn't so sure I could do all 100 miles without walking. I had never even tried running before April 24, 2013. I am amazed at how much I have accomplished in a little over a year. From barely being able to run 60 seconds when I first started running to this accomplishment. Unbelievable.

Adding 60 minutes running and 20 minutes walking. Fell short this month but was pretty busy with my kids soccer camps and volunteering at our Bible School. August ups my long runs on the weekends, but I'll be on vacation one week and starting a new teaching job at a new school, so I'm not sure I'll fit in much else other than running.

It's no secret that this month has been rough on me and I've got to say that this board really helped me stay motivated and off the couch on days that I really didn't want to move, so thank you.

My 3 mile run with a friend turned into a walk, since we had a lot to catch up on. In going to knock my goal out tomorrow with an actual run.

Haha, Linda, your color change did the trick! I put in the extra time this afternoon to finish off the month at 1451/1440! Thanks for all your time this month...as hmack said, it is very motivating to watch everyone's numbers increase and want to keep up your own :)

Who wants to give hosting a try for August? There is no 'right way' or set amount of time between updating invervals - do what you can, when you can. I'll take September if someone else can hop in for August.
