Hi! I'd love to join, if it's not too late! I'm a complete newbie to exercise challenges.

I'll set myself myself at 1500, since it's my first month back from a running injury. Bad fall, broken fingers. :sad2:

I'm currently at 262/1500 (got my July numbers off my Runkeeper App. ;))

Thanks!!!

Welcome in, Disneyland_Mama... you're challenger number 32 for this month. Great start!

I went for a 2 hour hike at Starved Rock State Park on the 4th, then tonight went to my hour long Werq class bringing me to 420/1680.

Congrats Ted on the great run

I was supposed to have yoga last night but it got canceled. Even though I did not get any exercise in I did get steps in yesterday.

115/1000 minutes

41000/310000

I have to get moving before it gets too hot here to move.

Have a great day.

Good Morning

I have been walking early to beat the heat! I am at:

Thanks, Tracy

Good morning, everyone.

First check in of the month :goodvibes

Monday ran 35 minutes, Wend did 41 minutes Thur a 30 minute walk today a 40 minute run!

total 146/1000 nice start!

I'm claiming 40 minutes today. I didn't really pay attention to the clock when I started but I know it's no less than 40. All strength training. I brought my resistance bands and stability ball with me on vacation and I am glad I actually using them!

340/1600

Forgot to post last night.

I am at 160/1000 minutes

51000/310000 steps

Keep up the good work everyone.

Ted, so glad you found your poor dog! How scary is that for him AND you!!!

Cam, have fun packing this week - that's one of my favorite parts of a trip. Now, the unpacking part - that's a completely different story.

Susie, glad you're getting back into your minutes after such a bad wreck. :thumbsup2 Still super scary though about that concussion.

Rose, congrats on your 10K!

I started out with 338 minutes and have added 145 to make my total 483 through yesterday. I've been kinda proud of myself for keeping up the walking, even in this heat. I'm trying out a couple of weight training DVDs [got them from the library] to help me with that part of training....it's been good for me to see what my form is supposed to look like.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Only got in a 20 minute walk yesterday. Oh well, hopefully some more swimming today!
Also 20 minutes swimming and 30 minutes walk the day before that I forgot to come on and log.

New total:

275/1200

Thanks for the welcome, Ted!

I got in a 70 minute hike yesterday, bringing me to 332/1500. Today is my rest day and tomorrow is my long run for the week. :cheer2:

Have a great day,
Tracy :wave2:

Looking Good, Everybody!! Keep up those minutes! :)

I'm at 588/1900. That includes my usual walk plus 45 minutes of mowing the lawn yesterday when it was 84 degrees outside. ugh This morning I got up and ran. Slow but didn't feel bad! ;) I really wanted to stay in bed and be lazy, but knew it would just be too hot if I didn't get a move on!

Just got back from the beach and I have now officially "run" my first ever 5K.
Of course I walked more than I ran but......I finished in 57 minutes. :cheer2: A few more minutes and I would have matched Teds time for the 10K. I now have my base time to improve on and a goal to run faster and finish a 10K before the end of the year.

Some of my observations: Running on the sand is definately different than running on the street or the treadmill. My ankles could really tell the difference, the Oregon coast can be very rocky.

Remember you are attending a run and the agates must be scooped up quickly or your time will suffer. :rotfl2: I made my DH go after a couple of agates I saw. (He walk/ran with me).

And last observation: Don't spend 4 hours throwing and retrieving crab traps on the beach the day before a race. The crabbing class was great and so much fun catching those yummy little suckers. But boy is it a lot of work throwing and pulling in.

So 60 for the run today and 60 for the crabbing yesterday (spent some of that 4 hours sitting)

240/620

Great job today everyone... the minutes just keep rolling in.

Today I am counting 40 minutes of exercise - we were at Hershey Park today. Not as much as I would usually expect because the heat was so bad we bailed out shortly after lunch and headed home.

So only about 2 miles or so of walking around the park.

Total for the month now at 343/1600

Going to blast through the 25% mark tomorrow morning... 8 mile run scheduled which will take me to at least 450 minutes total for the month... probably more because I won't be able to run as fast as my last 8 mile run with the heat.

Good night everyone... gotta get up early to beat the heat.

Ted
