July... am I insane?

Hey folks! Hope you're all doing well

I haven't been around for a while, but I've got some questions to ask all of ya! I just got engaged about a month and a half ago, and we're planning our wedding for July 2 next year - a great time, as it's a long weekend for us and for the Americans (ie my whole extended family). I desperately wanna head to WDW/Universal for my honeymoon, and so far my fiance seems happy to oblige But I'm just wondering. If we got there on July 5, would that just be the most insane time ever to be there? I don't think arriving on the 4th is a smart idea, but what about the week afterward, is it significantly busier than any other time in July/August?

I was hoping to spend about a week at the theme parks, and then maybe take a short cruise from Miami or something. But timing is a big issue!

We were there in July about 5 years ago. The Parks are get busier getting close to July 4th. On that day, it's complety crazy but fun. The week after, tho the crowds numbers were high, it was less busy.

When talking Disney, It's Always A Good Time to GO!LOL

I personally have not been down at that time but do expect larger crowds since school is out everywhere! Plus DL will be celebrating 50 and all the parks are suppose to have special things going on for the Celebration!

PS Why not change the date to Our Thanksgiving/Their Columbus Day. Won't be so hot, less crowded and then you can also do MNSSHP!

Hey Scratch! thanks to you and wdwmo for the info. I'd love to go at a later time - partly b/c it won't be so incredibly hot - but I will start my bar admissions course in Sept next year, and so basically I only have the summer to relax and take time off... that's it! And I'd love to get married and take a fun trip right afterward too
