July ADRS...

We went in December of last year. I was surprised at how crowded the 'least crowded time of the year was.' I guess you can always expect crowds.

Maybe july will be different I hope! Not gonna count on it though! I would rather be pleasently surprised! Fingers crossed!

we are going July 22-30 and I was able to get everything I wanted...Including CRT (at 8:00 which I switched twice...and was still able to get) and O'Hana, will be our first O'Hana breakfast...I am thrilled!!!

Hooray HOT July!

Hooray HOT July!

Hot doesn't bother me as much as that record cold did in December!!

I was able to change the times yesterday of my Le Cellier lunch and my Teppan Edo dinner, just to be able to spend some pool time at the resort :) I never would have thought I'd be able to do that in the summer, less than 90days away.

I'm definitely leaning toward the less crowded viewpoint.

I got all of what I wanted back in late January and I've been playing around with them recently and have been able to get what I wanted to change for. I was also able to get what I wanted for the June part of our trip just a few weeks ago.

I realized yesterday that I had booked our CRT at 8am for a EMH day and so I figured why not try to change our itinerary around? I was able to switch my HS and MK days around and STILL got everything I wanted, including CRT at 8am, Liberty Tree, H&V at 8am, Fantasmic package, Sci-Fi, Chef Mickey's, and the Fireworks dessert party with NO problems. I was shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and of course, very happy :cool1:

Now for my crazy story. On Tuesday, we bought into DVC (we first looked into it in 2007 and now they opened a store in our local mall!) and they were able to change our July reservation from cash to points. We were buying one day park tix to get dining and since we no longer needed them he took them off for us. So...now we have no package and our dining goes away.

I was able to rebook every single ADR within 15 minutes of the original times today: Teppan Edo, Ohana (breakfast one day, dinner another), Akershus, Crystal Palace, Sci Fi, and Le Cellier!

This is kind of crazy...

I don't understand this either. We choose to go in early June the day my kids get out of school to avoid the worst of the crowds. There is practically nothing available for Character Breakfasts in June and I have been searching for a month now! On a whim, I tried July 8th after reading this posts and saw that tons of character meals were available. I wonder what is going on?

I just changed our plan a bit (had the 5th July as room only but added it to our DxDDP instead) and was able to get 1900 Park Fare dinner on that date! WOOT! Hope crowds will be low :)

My husband and I were just talking about this.
I am going with my DD and her boyfriend and we are meeting another family there from 7/8-14.
We got everything we wanted including:
Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's both for a group of 11 at prime times.
We moved the trip up a day yesterday and at this late day was able to get 1900 Park Fare when we wanted it.
Are people cutting back their TS dining due to watching money more? Are there more first timers going than normal that do not know to book early? Or may the crowds actually be a bit lower(wishful thinking)?

I also got all my ADR's for the first week of July, either the systems broken or perhaps there won't be a crowd!

Shhhh... I'm going the first week too... Hopefully the word won't get out, and maybe it won't be too crowded. :) I got all of my ressies too for that time period that I wanted!!! :cool1:

It's funny, because when we went in July of '09, I had so much trouble getting ADR's. We went from the 7th until the 15th or something like that.

July 2nd through the 10th and I was able to book everything. We only book one meal per day, almost always a dinner. To us the food is too heavy for every meal, every day. But no trip to the World is complete unless we eat at Tokyo Dining and the Brown Derby.

We did deluxe on our last trip and loved it, for the ability to do dinner shows and 2 credit meals. But that was in December, when it was cold. In the summer we pretty much eat breakfast and dinner and that's it, except maybe for an ice pop or something cold for dd. Or popcorn. She is addicted to it!

Our July ADR's are:

- Chef Mickey's
- Via Napoli
- Nine Dragons
- 50's Prime Time Cafe
- The Hollywood Brown Derby
- Crystal Palace
- Teppan Edo
- California Grill
- Kona Cafe
- T-REX Cafe

I can't wait!!!!! Only 80 days!!!!!! :woohoo:

I did some moving around of our ADR’s yesterday and was still surprised to see all the big ones still come up available. I had no problem making the changes and for the times I wanted. I hope this is a good sign!

I also found availability at many restaurants for July 7-17, even Chef Mickey, Ohana dinner, and 8 am Crystal Palace and Tusker House!

I didn't book as we are on QSDP (free) and want the freedom of the QS plan as we are traveling with DS who will be just over 2 and quite antsy at times. I was just amazed at the options, 59 days out!
