Sheila...Randi has a Susan, party of 2, on her ride list as well. Do you know if that is SusanB from our group? I think we had the ride full of DISers until Lori had to cancel for health reasons. I'm trying to confirm with Randi that all in our group that are signed up will be riding together.

Kim :flower:

SusanB - that's me!! DD and I will be along for the ride. Can't wait - it's going to be so much fun!

GREAT NEWS!!! For those who didn't book the Dolphin Excursion for kids, it was available this morning!!! I booked both Julianna and Brandon on the 2PM time, with both Darren and I as observers at 2PM. There were no more swim times, though the observer times seemed all open. I didn't think this time was originally available, so maybe DCL contracted with the place to add additional times.

For those of you following my saga, I went to the neurologist yesterday. He said I'm doing GREAT and doesn't need to see me until September. I still have some weakness in my left side and still get tired, but he said that is to be expected. So, I'll be on the ship, though I might be lounging by the pool a lot!!!!

Lori - that's great news about the dolphin excursion and your health!!! :bounce: I bet you're really looking forward to this trip after all you've been through lately.

Sheila - Thanks for the good words, and I can't wait to go away. Though you don't know the half of it.... We might have to relocate to Salt Lake City, and that is looming over our heads. We're probably going to fly out to Salt Lake in August to check the area out and look for houses. Darren is facing some health issues now too, though I hope it's not serious. It's just crazy now here, and we're single handedly keeping the medical community in business.

Lori -- I am so glad that you are doing better! I hope things improve with Darren. Sounds like you will really need the R&R!

Sheryl.

we're down to about 5 weeks! Can you believe how fast this is going? We'll be on the cruise before we know it! I can't wait!

A question for some of you CA people --

Have you ever heard of a club called "Chain Reaction"? It's at 1652 W. Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim. Our DD and her friend want to see some bands there on 7/8 (day before the cruise) and it's at this club. From Mapquest, it looks to be about 3 miles away from Disneyland (we'll be at the Grand Californian).

Can anyone tell me about the club -- if it's a decent place?

Thanks,
Val

Val,
I have never heard of the place. Of course its been a long time since I was into the "club" scene and even then we didn't venture that far. I work with teens so if no one else knows anything I can ask around at work on Monday and see if I get any answers.

Hi all--I just went to the DCL site and made another spa treatment appointment. I was having a bad day and that makes me feel a little better. The beautiful house that we were going to buy...well, the owner decided he didn't want to sell after all (after they put our check into escrow). We could have sued him (and won from what I was told), but what good would that have done. Poor Todd had to deal with all of this. The good news is he found us another house in a really nice neighborhood, still on a pond (I think it looks like a lake) and it is nice, too. It doesn't have as many custom features as the other one, but it still looks nice...and it's $50,000 less (made it much easier to justify another spa treatment). Just told DS and he wasn't happy. Now I have to tell DD. Wish me luck. Can't wait til we cruise!

I can somewhat relate to this, since we might be doing the same thing right after the cruise. We're looking at building though, and are in touch with a few builders, so hopefully we won't have to deal with trying to find a place too soon. Hopefully, this development will work out, we'll see......

Another question about Randi: in her last email to me, she said to bring whatever I wanted for a "day at the beach." :confused3 I missed something.... Did we sign up for an all-day thingy?

Looks like it's time for the Doc-Dance :dancer: -and- "Fed-Ex" Watch :smooth: to begin!

:Pinkbounc HURRY :jumping1: UP :bounce: DOCS ! :thewave: GIMMIE  GIMMIE :cheer2: GIMMIE :jumping3:

Karen - what a bummer about the house! :(

Cheri - My understanding is that the ride with Randi ends at a restaurant on the beach (Victor's). I've read they have pretty good food there. The time at the restaurant is also beach time. I think I read that we will be back to the ship by 2:00. I plan on hitting the town after that to do some shopping and sightseeing.

Don't know if you guys have seen this site - http://www.cruisemexico.org/index.php?showtopic=182 . Island Girl is Randi. I'm really looking forward to our day in Mazatlan!

Thanks Lori for answering. If you find out anything, I'd appreciate it.

I feel kind of "out of the mainstream" with pretty much the majority on our cruise DIS board, as everyone else has younger kids than ours. I very much appreciate your answering me.

Well guys...can we get some kind of prize for being the last DISers to join this merry discussion? We've been on a wait list for this sailing for a couple months (couldn't attempt to book any sooner b/c of my job), and managed to clear that a couple of weeks ago. Cat 9 guarantee...hey, I'll sleep on the anchor! So I've been working my way through the posts. Yep, all 103 pages. You are all simply amazing in organization and spirit! We've enjoyed the pre-cruise board fun before , but you guys take the cake!!
A quick intro...DH(me), a pirate in mild mid-life crisis. DW is confidently doing the "like a fine wine" thing, and is convinced that salt spray, teak wood floors and umbrella drinks are the keys to anti-aging. DD(8) and DS(7) are always looking for cruisin' playmates! We have a couple of lime green t-shirts from previous DCs. Love to get one more, but we're just REALLY happy to be able to tag along at this point! Thank you all so much for the great tips (booking Palo and Spa online...wow)!
Looking forward to meeting you all soon,

Buzz

My son goes to school around the corner from there. I'll try to check it out tomorrow. See if it looks "Seedy!" There a few hot clubs in this area, I'm not sure which one this is.

Welcome aboard. We have a great group. Right now we are getting into the "Cruise Doc Anxiety Phase." I have been told by several of our disers that this is a real condition and we are already showing signs of infection. This group has had several games and challenges going over the last year. There was a West Coast DIS meet in February at Downtown Disney and last weekend there was another West Coast Meet & Greet at Ports O' Call Village where we saw the Magic off on her 1st West Coast cruise. If you would like a shirt you can visit this link https://www.cafepress.com/disneymagic and PM me if you want one. we plan to wear these shirts at some point on the cruise - sailaway?

Right now this thread could use a little more action. We need a game, a challenge or even a disagreement.

Thanks, Craig. That would be great!

Getting up early today to fly off to Buffalo for the weekend. Friends from our adoption home study group have a DD having a HS graduation celebration and we haven't seen them in years, so having a sort of reunion/graduation get together.

Be back on Sunday night,
Val & Stu

P.S. WELCOME, OFFWEGO! Glad you can join us!

Val - you might also want to check with the people on the Disneyland board. There are many locals there that may be familiar with that club. I'm not familiar with any clubs, even ones in San Diego.

Offwego - welcome aboard. It's always fun to add to our group.

Welcome aboard Buzz, Lola, Megan, and Jay! It is going to be a great cruise!

Val -- don't feel so out of it -- My son is younger but I started late -- that's why I only have one!! :rotfl2: The way I look at it is that he is keeping me young!! Although I don't have the energy I used to!

Sheryl

Welcome to the group, offwego!!! Only 5 more weeks to go!

Karen...so sorry to hear about your house! Hope the next one goes through without a hitch!

Lori...glad to hear you're getting better each day. Congrats on scoring the dolphin encounters!
