Lori-
Just got home from JoseTejas. We thought of you.

Chris-
Looking forward to brunch, include TC and I in your count. PM me if you need cell phone number!

Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks Randy!! I would have love Jose Tejas for dinner, but it's too far of a ride and much too long of a wait in my condition!! I did go to TGI Friday's tonight, not in the same league, but I still made it out of my house!! I'm wearing my "stroke wardrobe" of sweats, so I don't look too pretty, but I made it out!!!

Chris - I know Darren and I are confirmed for the brunch, do you need anything from us, cell number, etc. Just PM or e-mail me if you need anything.

Today has been tiring, but I did go out. Maybe tomorrow won't be as tiring. I do drink a lot of Coke, gave up diet, don't need any more chemicals in my body!! The caffeeine does help!!!!

Welcome aboard, Joan! I'm a scrapper, but won't be bringing any of my 1000 pounds of supplies. I'd have to carry it on and somehow I don't think security would take too kindly to the wire, hammer and 10 pair of scissors I usually carry. :p

Has your sister already posted?

For the :groom: "brunchers": I don't think we'll need cell numbers. We won't know about the ressies until we board, so we'll just call room-to-room.

I'm thinking about requesting the APL rotation again. Anyone considering this one? Parrot's is my least fav so I wouldn't want to go 3 times, and Lumiere's is a bit much for my kidlets. Just curious (and contributing to the 90 page goal --- and, my own bar bill :earseek: ??? wait a minute..... :rotfl2: )

I love to scrap too but there is no way I can haul all that stuff on the cruise. Besides, I like doing it when I come back so I am not so depressed about the trip being over! For those of us in So.Ca, did you know that there is a scrapbook show at the Ontario Convention Center the 7/22-23?

I know that in an earlier post Kim mentioned that she got an excursion booklet from Disney in the mail. I never got that but Thurs I got a letter explaining about the good idea of having a passport and the passport forms. Thought that was kind of different. Did any of the rest of you get that letter? It also said to pack a day bag and what to pack.

I was reading some of the other threads and it seems that there have been quite a few cancellations and upgrades on the other cruises. It will be interesting.

Have a good day.
Lori :grouphug:

I'm an avid scrapper as well, but my husband would "kill" me if I tried to pack all my stuff and scrap on our family cruise...especially since we're celebrating our anniversary!! I think I'll save the scrapping for after the cruise! ;)

I got the passport letter too, but that was awhile ago...sometime in February I'm thinking, because it was just before we went to get our passports at the beginning of March.

Kim :flower:

I also got the passport letter from my TA last week. Darren and I already had our passports and got the kids theirs in March. We got theirs about a week or so ago. Today is another day, the same numbness and tingling. I keep asking myself if it is going to get better.....

Dear soccermom and swcruiser and all,
i live in so.cal and i am bringing 1 scrapbooking xxl on wheels with me. I will make sure to pack extra scissors and other dangerous objects that others can't travel with. the first disney cruise we went on was feb. 2003 for 7 days and i had time to scrap because my dh was exhausted by our first trip to wdw.

thanx for the info on the scrapbook convention in ontario. :rotfl: ...i go on weekends 1 time a year to the central coast to scrap and i have never been to a convention. i scrap every friday a.m. at a local store after we drop our kids at school....it has been the only way i get anything in my scrapbook because there are so many distractions at home.

my sister has posted here as pattybell.....she has a 8 year old ds and a 6 dd....my dd is 8...we are at the late seating but i did not know u could request rotations...we are signed up for the swim with dolphins in Puerto Vallarta....and i am looking forward to palo again.

soooo...if anyone wants to scrap leave me a message here.
joan :wave2: :earsgirl: :rotfl:
p.s. what is the deal with getting to 90 posts????

So there is a chance I might get a Category 2 (and hosting a second DIS Board party)? Cool!

Hey, everyone. Haven't posted for awhile. Been camping with scouts in the rain. :guilty: We ordered new passports today. Saw it as great opportunity to replace a terrible picture with an even worse picture...success! My new passport picture is even worse -a true classic. The photographer at the passport office even insisted on retaking it but I refused. :rotfl2:

Regarding dis parties. We are category 3 a couple of doors down from Soccerdad - how about a rotating cocktail party? I also heard that on the concierge level photos could be arranged in the room.

What are the dining rotation choices?

Camping in the rain??? Yuk! You must be VERY dedicated!!

I believe the dining rotation options are APL, PLA, and LAP...where A=Animator's Palette, P=Parrot Cay, and L=Lumiere's. The rotation indicates in which restaurant you start and the order in which you rotate. So for APL, you start in Animator's, go to Parrot Cay, then to Lumiere's, then repeat the whole rotation once again. Your last night is in the restaurant where you started for a 7 night cruise.

A rotating cocktail party sounds good to me!!!  As does the group picture...I had heard that you could arrange for a ship's photographer to come to you somewhere on the ship if you are in concierge. If that's true, it would make the group photo op a lot easier...especially if we arrange it around the time of the cocktail party when everyone was planning to meet anyway!

I need another weekend to recover from my weekend...BOTH kids had their birthday parties this weekend...DS on Saturday, DD on Sunday, with the "family" party Saturday night!

I hate to contradict you in public, dear, :flower3: but the purpose of calling everyone as soon as the concierge confirms the date/time of the ressies is so that they can plan their own ressies (which they'll be rushing to make when they get on board) around that. If past cruises are any indication, no one is going to be in their rooms until 3PM or so, which means communicating via room-to-room won't work.

Some time ago, in order to stimulate posting, I challenged the group here to get to 90 pages of posts by the time we sail, and if achieved, I promised to buy everyone a drink of their choice at the sail-away party on the ship. I did not realize at the time just how far people will go for a free sail-away drink, as you will see if you read this thread from that point on. Of course, at this stage, there is no longer any doubt that we will surpass 90 pages by quite a lot, but people have been genuinely focused on this goal and we have had a consistent awareness of the "post count" since the challenge was initially made.

Chris

It has been quiet! I think its just that time of year. For me, I am restless. I have bought all my clothes for the trip and its way too early to pack so it just kind of seems like I'm moving in slow motion. It actually seems farther away than it did when we booked! I think too that the kids are having a hard time staying checked into school mentally, I know my ds is. He is already on "summer" mode mentally. LOL

I am going to try and sneak out of work next wed and go to Disneyland. I hope since it will be the middle of the week, it won't be bad. I am dying to see what Disney has done for the 50th.

Hi all! I've been really busy for the last week but things have settled down a little now.

It sounds like everyone was really busy this weekend. Kim, you are much braver than me to have 2 birthday parties in one weekend!!! Two birthday's within a month is enough for me!

I'm going to DL on Wednesday and also plan on taking the girls on Sunday the 15th. :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

That's funny...I was just talking about taking a "sick day" and taking DD out of school in the next week or so... so that we can all go to DL before the summer rush starts! I want to see all the new stuff for the 50th too!

I guess we are all on the same page!

DS and myself received our passports today. It took less than 2 weeks, I was in total shock. We went to city hall and it was a nice experience. Hopefully DH's will arrive soon. He started to panic. LOL

I just want to thank every one for all the Pixie dust :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: they threw Sara’s way.

Not only did the Ticket for her come thru  when she told her boss about it his response was :earseek: “ you have to go” so on the fourth Sara :earsgirl: , Lexi :earsgirl: and I pirate: will be in Disneyland :cloud9:

I forget who else is going to be there but if you send me a PM I will give you our call phone number so we can meet up if you want.

Again thanks or this might have been the face I would have seen most of the 4th
detail

and I don't even want to think what Sara's face would look like

Next post I will not use any smilies. I promise

Lori, ya'll received your passports in 2 weeks! Wow! We're still waiting after 4 weeks (ordered from our City Hall as well). Interesting.
