July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

The kids got their passports in about 3 weeks. We applied at the post office, since we applied on Good Firday (kids were off) and the city office was closed.

Been reading all of the talk about scrapbooking (I too am an avid fan) but don't think I will be bringing my stuff along. I am already obsessing about packing. I don't pack lightly and we will be gone a long time. I also don't do laundry on vacation so I am trying to pack 4 suitcases and hope I have room for souveniers!!!! And I am not into shoes as I prefer to be barefoot so it will be all clothes!

Boy it took 6 weeks for Dylan's and my passports to arrive last year. Two weeks sounds great!!

I just can't wait for July!!! Although May should go fast -- Dylan's birthday is the 14th (think a house full of 11 years olds, taking them to a movie, pizza, and sleep over!!!). I will probably be posting a lot that night!!! Then the following weekend we will be going out of town to attend his step-sister's wedding. Then Dylan has his elementary school graduation in June so maybe it will be July before I know it. We also have tickets (front row balcony) to see the Lion King on July 3 in Baltimore which should really get us in the Disney mood!!

Hope you all are having a great day!

Sheryl

Mike was told when he applied for his passport that he could pay a rush fee if he wanted, which we didn't pay. They also mentioned that any other applications that were ready to go would be sent in with the rush application. As it turned out, his came back in about two weeks because somebody in his batch had paid the rush fee...

Chris...welcome back! Where, oh where, have you been? :confused3

Sheesh...my %$@#*& job is getting in the way of everything fun. I've just been very busy lately, so my recent contributions to our post count have diminished a fair bit. However, things are settling down, so my posting should get back to normal pretty soon.

Also, we're fast approaching the two-month mark   , which I think is going to trigger a new level of enthusiasm and excitement for everyone in our little group here.

Chris

Dear all,
thanx for the answer to my ???? I think your budget for drinks will be large!! All of this talk of dl to see 50th changes is making me want to take off and go before the summer. :cool1: I know my dd would be happy to go with.

Sheryl...

My DS's birthday is May 14th too...but he'll only be 4. What a coincidence! We had the parties early (DD's birthday is May 10th) because we'll be out of town during the weekends surrounding their birthdays.

Also...we just saw The Lion King...front row balcony...in Orange County in April! I also thought it would put us in the Disney mood! Great minds think alike!

We saw Disney on Ice: Mickey and Minnies Magical Journey in March. Is that show coming to your town anytime soon? :)

Too add to the coincidence, my DS's b-day is May 13.... 15 this year!

I just bought tickets for The Lion King which will be here in San Diego in December. Can't wait to see it.

I haven't seen any advertisements for Disney on Ice in Baltimore. I think it was in Washington DC in the winter but we didn't make it. As for more Taurus's -- my birthday is May 6! I guess August is a good month for conception!

DD and I got passports for this trip too and we got our in about 3 weeks as well. I was really nervous about having to send the original birth certificates, but they came back with the passports!
We're good to go!

Our boys needed new passports, dropped of old passports, "long birth certificates" (a new requirement since last time), new pics and checks$$ at county office building two weeks ago, new passports came today!

I've been away from the boards for quite awhile, but did manage to get in on the West Coasters green T shirts.
Is it the plan for everyone to wear these at the sailaway? It'd be awesome to get pictures with all the green-shirters!

More May birthdays....Mine is the 19th and Megan's is the 27th. My Mom's is the 20th so we were hoping Megan would be born on the 18th or the 21st so we would have 3 generations, 3 days in a row.

Well, we found out we are for sure moving the Indianapolis. Probably right after the cruise. At least they pay for everything. I don't have to do a thing. We are all going on the 19th (oooh, fun birthday) to visit the schools and look at houses. We have already scheduled a WDW vacation with some friends from here for Spring Break next year.

Karen

Susan,
I was noticing that you live in Ind. My mom is from Muncie and my aunt and uncle still live there. Someday I plan to make it back there.

Yes, now I remember! It was a hot summer ('89) in SoCal. Lots of margaritas! :rolleyes1

Hey guys...I just found this on the May 28th thread...

Tuesday (31st) (Puerto Vallarta) Pirate Night!

Wednesday (1st) (Mazatlan) Casual Dress (theme yet undetermined)

Friday (3rd) (AT SEA) Casual Dress (theme yet undetermined)

Saturday (4th) Disembark

Hope this helps a bit with planning!

I'm so excited!!! That's what I was hoping for since I requested the PLA dining rotation...that'll put us in Lumiere's for formal night, Parrot Cay for Pirate Night, and Animator's for semi-formal. I think I'll try to book a massage and Palo for Wednesday night. After riding horses in Mazatlan, I think I'll need it! ;)

Kim :flower:

kim - thanks for the info!!! I'll have to figure out which night I want to do Palo. I don't think I want to do Sun, since it's so early in the cruise. Maybe Thursday? I'll have to think about it.

Today was my first day of physical therapy. They have machines of torture there, but luckily I didn't have to use any yet. My left side is really bothering me from using it, but that is good right? Hopefully I'll get better soon!!!

Hi to all the July 9th cruisers,
I was wondering if someone could update me on the events planned by the people on this board as get togethers? Is there a master list of posters info. for this board, like family members names and ages etc? If so could I get it? My e-mail address is pferrell910@msn.com. I think I read that Chris had a master list? Any way, our info is: Myself and my 2 kids are cruising after a visit to DL, and a visit with my sis Junibell. My ds, Trevor is 8 and my dd Hayley is 6. We are in a Cat 8 room #7512, fore and starboard. (Although hoping for an upgrade!) I think we signed up for a pool/beach party in Mazatlan, the dolphin swim in PV, and doing our own beach thing in Cabo-which may rendevouz with this group's beach party. Thanks for any info.
Lori keep on truckin', we're all in there cheering for you. :cheer2:

Thanks Kim! That helps a lot! Just one question -- what are Golden Mickeys?
