July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

I believe the Golden Mickeys is the show they do on formal night...sort of like a "night at the oscars" theme with a disney twist.

Hey guys...booking is available ONLINE now for Palo, Spa, Excursions, Flounders, and Kids Clubs registration! I just made Palo ressies for brunch, dinner and high tea, and ressies for 3 spa treatments for DH and I...beginning, middle, and end of the week! All the times I wanted were available! A much different experience than the dolphin excursion fiasco at 5:45 a.m. at the 90 day mark!!! :sad2: I also registered the kids for the club/lab.

Not that it affects us, since it just went into effect today, but they state that concierge guests can reserve 105 days in advance, castaway club guests can reserve 90 days in advance, and all other guests can reserve 75 days in advance...IF PAID IN FULL!! I'm curious about what this will do to the popularity of the REAS, since there is no special time for REAS guests to reserve before "all other guests" can reserve!

Anyway...thought I'd give you the heads-up so you can get online and get your ressies now!!!

Chris...the largest size group that could be reserved online at Palo was 4...but I'm guessing since you are concierge and everyone else can now book online, they could book our DIS group brunch for you now as well! You probably want to call ASAP before things get booked up!! I booked a spa ressie Sunday morning before the brunch, so I'm hoping you can get an 11 or 11:30 brunch like you were hoping!!! :goodvibes Once you get the brunch reserved, it'll be easier to plan everything else around it! Now we won't have to rely on cell phones to spread the word!

Kim, thanks for the info. There was a glitch in my computer so if this posts, twice, I apologize.
Lori

BUMMER!!! They've turned off the Palo ressies, etc this morning.... I'll keep trying though....

Kim - did you book straight with DCL? I can't get in and I'm thinking it might be because I booked with a TA?

:dancer: Got my palo dinner, brunch & High tea. Got Quinton registered for the lab. Got Christine a 50 minute massage on Monday & Friday. I am completely set-up. Check out the time here on the west coast - 5:30am. :rotfl2: Something happened on the disney site and it went down for a short time (I also booked with a TA but got through). :badpc: I decided to stay up and wait for the switchboard to open. Suddenly the site kicked in again. Yeah!!! Mommykeg is my hero!!! I got in late and was simply checking my email when I got the "Mommykeg alert!" I hope Christine wanted two massages and likes the times. I booked for monday and friday at 10:30am. I booked sunday brunch at palo, monday high tea and friday night dinner at Palo. Going for the mommykeg recomendation of PLA dining rotation - it makes sense to me. Well, I'm going to bed. Fortunately, I'm the boss so I can go in late. Christine will be in for a surprise when she wakes up and sees all these ressies. Goodnight. :faint:

Lori...I did book with DCL but I've read that others did not and were able to book ressies online. Keep trying...the site gave me a message about a problem last night, but I just retyped the info and it let me in. Also, it's under the main contact...so if that's your husband, try his name and birthdate. You DO have to be registered on the Disney site as well. Don't give up!

Kim :flower:

Thanks KIm!!! I figured out my problem. DCL didn't work with my primary browser Firefox, but when I loaded up Explorer, I got everything I wanted!!! I got my Palo ressies, Spa Ressies and registered the kids for the clubs!! It already had my excursions there, which I had booked before. It's great that I don't have to worry and rush now!!!!!

KIM--YOU'RE THE BEST!!! :cool1: :cool1:

I just reserved everything. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't have known I could book online beforehand. Thanks! Also, the stress of getting there and getting what we want is totally gone. They didn't have the couples spa tester, though. Oh well. I booked brunch, high tea, spa and registered the kids. I am so happy. That made my day.

Karen

Karen...I did notice the spa taster wasn't there, so I booked the Well Being Massage for Couples. I was wondering if they still offer it. I figured I could cancel the Well Being Massage if I decide on the Spa Taster and they still offer it...but I think DH would want the Well Being anyway. It is SOOOO nice to have things booked, isn't it?

Kim :flower:

Karen - my guess is because when DH and I had booked the couples massage last year, they gave us the option of either the massage or spa taster when we were in the room. We could have picked different things, if that matters. So, maybe they're just going with the option when you're in the room.

Kim-

Thanks for posting. Was able to book Dinner, Brunch, and High Tea (at DW's request) without a problem.

I am traveling with four other families and worked with a fellow-passenger to coordinate the reservations so that they are at the same time, he booked tables for 4, I booked tables for 6. Our TA will work with DCL to be sure they are linked so that we have a table for ten at Palo's.

The site will only allow one reservation per meal type at Palo's. You can only reserve one diner, one brunch and one high tea.

It is nice to see all of the reservations in one place! It is also great that there is no need for a "scramble" for reservations once we board.

Well, less then two month's until we leave for CA !

Thanks for posting the info about booking online. I suppose we now have a reason to pay off the cruise (I had been hoping to wait until the very last minute, but now we'll pay it off today).

Apropos of nothing else, the DL May 4th event was something of a letdown. I felt a little like we had wandered onto a movie set & were getting in the way of everyone. The park itself wasn't especially empty, and towards the end of the day it got nearly impossible to navigate around all the film crews.

We did get to meet Sheila (:wave2: ), and we saw Julie Andrews - although it at a distance and was only for a moment before she was whisked away. The 50 Years exhibit is wonderful, although the film that goes with it was a little lacking. All the refurbishments have brought the rides up the most exacting standard. I was especially struck by the work they did on the Tiki Room - those birds haven't looked so good in years. I quite liked the re-done Jungle Cruise.

All in all it was a good trip, but I'm looking forward to an early night, since we spend 14 of 36 hours driving and we all need to catch up on our sleep.

Did anyone notice if we could book the Stem to Stern Wine Tasting online? I didn't see it and really wanted to get my ressies in for that one.

I didn't see it. I think special events like that on-board have to be booked through guest services once we board.

I was also interested in the Stem to Stem wine tasting and didn't see it. I sent an email to DCL asking about it. I'll let you all know what I find out.

I have another question: how do you know what your dining rotation is? I believe it was Mommykeg that posted hers and I'd like to know too.

I'd also be interested in a master list of all the DISers on our cruise if that is available.

Thanks for any info!

This is where it gets interesting as everyone scrambles to get the latest and greatest info. I have been on the phone with DCL all day. The CM could be wrong but said that dining rotation is based on your group. Adults with children get PLA. I seem to be confirmed for PLA which for me personally seems like the best. It gives me P on Sat, L for formal, A on MN, P for Pirate Night pirate: , L on WN, A for Captains Gala - skipping the last P on FR for Palo. Veterans, do I miss anything by skipping dinner in the restaurant on the last night?

Because I am cat. 3, I have been given a dining coordinator. I will try to get as much info as I can when we speak tomorrow. Any general questions I should ask that would be helpful to all? I think I will be talking to a Concierge Ressie coordinator tomorrow, so I'll ask about stem to stern and see if I can get the inside scoop.

I was wondering about that. I think that the only thing they changed since our last visit a few weeks ago was the parade and the Jungle Cruise. Everything else had already been done.

My TA called today and said something came from DCL regarding excursions. A little late, don't you think. Thanks to all for getting all the information out so this is a wonderful cruise. What would I do without these boards?

Dear All,
i just did ressies for Palo and the Oceaneer lab but the system failed for the spa....so i will try later. Pattybell & i booked through Costco so i called Disney to reserve our table only to be told (after a 20 min. wait) that Costco must call to book table size....i finally got that done. Thanx to all for all the great info...it has been a huge help :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
