July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Well, we've been at DL for 2 days now. Beautiful weather! Of course, it's so hot and humid in Tampa, anything else is welcomed.

The park wasn't too bad yesterday, but last night was a ZOO! Felt like cattle herds!

Had reservations for the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet and, it's a very long story, but the bottom line was they OVERBOOKED IT! I was VERY UPSET! Got a full refund and we're being treated to a complimentary lunch today at Blue Bayou.

Tomorrow's the big day! Can't wait till we don't have to pay for meals. So expensive at DL.

Anxious to see everyone tomorrow! Sleep well tonight!

Take care,
Val & Stu

Only one more day! Can you believe we finally made it! :teeth:

I actually had the whole day to shop by myself and of course I couldn't find a thing. That's always the way. I too couldn't sleep last night so I am hoping I will be so exhausted that I will just drop tonight. Cameron went to a waterpark with his summer camp and I made sure they wore him out.

I am so excited about seeing/meeting everyone. The bags are by the door and I have the evening free to scrapbook. Safe travels everyone! See you tomorrow.

Oh Happy Day!!!

It's finally here. We are currently at the HoJo in Anaheim. Spent the day at DL yesterday and finally got to see the 50th fireworks. They were great. We were also able to meet up with SusanB and her DD.

We're getting ready right now, will go have breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, and then we're off to the port.

See everyone soon!

Welcome home ye sea-faring pirates! Thank you all for a wonderful vacation! Love to all....

Thank you to all the great dissers. We had a blast and enjoyed meeting you all. I'll write more later but have to go and unpack now. :sad2:

I hope you all had a MAGICAL time on your cruise!!!! I know you guys are probably busy unpacking, etc...but I have a question when someone has a moment to answer, it would be REALLY appreciated....

We're cruising July 30th with DS3 and DS7 and staying at the Marina Hotel the night before. We had planned that I would head over to the port at 9:30am and check all of us in, get the boarding group, etc and leave DH with the two kids back at the hotel until 11:30, when they could join me at the port. Do you think that's will work...how is the check in handled? If you don't think that's a go, what about me going at 9:30 to check in, get the boarding group and then returning to the hotel until 11:30am (we're in So Cal so we'll have our car there)? I'm just thinking my DS3 isn't going to handle the waiting all that well, PLUS he's NEWLY potty trained.

Thanks so much! I can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!

This is what I have heard and saw first hand when we boarded on Saturday. Boarding is basically first come first served. Security is extremely tight. I really wonder how you would get out of terminal and back in after getting your boarding assignment and turning in your ticket at arrival. I know that those who arrived early have a quick easy time of boarding and those who arrive later have waited hours to get on. If you lose your spot, your wait time could be extremely long. As far as kids and the wait - they have activities at the terminal. There are characters, pictures, crafts, music and the general excitement of disney cruisers. I would say, if you and your family get there between 10 - 11, the lines and the wait will be short. You would probably be on the ship in the time it took you to leave, retrieve your family and get back.

Hi Lisa,

I was thinking it would work to do that but then I remembered that we had to show our docs to get into the terminal. So if you have the docs to check in, your DH won't have what he needs to get into the building. I'm not sure if you could leave and then come back.

But as Craig said (Hi Craig :wave2: ), the wait in the terminal really isn't that bad. I think we arrived around 10:15, unloaded the bags, and then I parked the car. So it was probably around 10:30 when we entered the terminal and we were boarding group 5. There was no line at all to check in and they started boarding around 11:45. Our group was called about noon.

Thanks for the info...exactly what I was looking for! We'll just have to tough it out then!

Lisa

We leave in a week on our cruise. How was the weather? Someone posted that your weather could have been better but did not go into details. Please fill me in so I can start to pack or repack!

Hi everyone!! After an almost disasterous time trying to get to LAX (got there at 11:15 for a 12:30 flight!!) we're finally home. I'm really feeling the jet lag and didn't get any sleep because my cat meowed all night from seeing us home. I wanted to thank any and all Dis'ers who chipped in and bought us our pirate shirts. All of us appreciated it and this was a well needed vacation. Well, since it's 8:30 here now, it's time to get the troops moving. We of course have NOTHING to eat, since we didn't get home until midnight and after being gone for two weeks everything that is here is spoiled. I hope everyone had a magical vacation, we did and keep in touch!!!

:drinking1    Well we made it and are exhausted!! I am on my 5th load of laundry!! Having a hard time getting back to East Coast time.

We really enjoyed meeting you all! Had a great time! Dylan is soooo depressed that it is over!

Write more later -- have another load of laundry to do!!!

Is everyone home safe and sound now? It was great meeting so many of you and I hope you all had a great cruise. I know we did. I didn't get a chance to meet everyone but wish I could have.

I tried to do some laundry today but just couldn't bring myself back to reality. So we went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory instead. I hope to get a trip report written in the next few days and at some point I will post at least some of the 1200+ pictures we took.

Did anyone else rebook onboard? We booked for Thanksgiving 2006 but I'm not sure at this point if we will keep it, move it to another date, or do Alaska instead. Just watched our video that we took and I really want to go back!
