July 7, 2013 - 4 Night Bahamian Cruise - Disney Dream

Welcome to all the new Dream FE group members! We are getting so excited for the cruise. I have started to look at new clothes. (The husband and I have dropped a few pounds and I want to wear some nice dresses:rotfl: ) I would like to post a picture of our family from our cruise last year, but I don't know how.

Also, Jaime, thank you for keeping us updated on the number of people in our FE group. I hope you can/will continue to do that up until closer to sailing day!

No problem! :) I will definitely continue to do so! I'm going to try to combine everyone's information this weekend so that we will have everything organized together on a "master" list so to speak. At some point, we will need to figure out a cut off date with a final head count so that everyone has time to get their gifts together before the cruise. I'm thinking sometime in June would be good, but we'll figure it out closer to our cruise date! Thanks to everyone who has already provided their information! :)

Jaime

If possible can the cut off date be about mid-June? We will be in the USA from the 26th June, I will try and bring some extra gifts but I may not be able to check which room they are located in...

Well, I figured it out. But, now it says I have to have 10 or more posts to post a picture??
Ah, yes. I forgot that small rule. It's easy enough to get 10 posts; just make a couple more comments on here, back-to-back even works!

Thanks, Jaime! That is a great idea. Does anyone know how many people usually sign up for the FE groups?? It seems to me that our group is kinda small...which is fine, less stuff to make ;) Have I said yet that I'm excited and ready to cruise lol. Lauren said tonight that she is tired of being home and ready to be on our cruise ship again lol.

The Jackson Family boarding the Disney Dream in July 2012!
For some reason, your picture didn't pop up on my screen. Any number of reasons exist for that, but the first one that comes to mind is to ensure the boxes are correct at the beginning....com/albums/g88/sheridac/IMG_0480-3.jpg[/IMG]

First sighting of the ship. . .the parking garage is off to the left

The terminal. We're in line to have our pics taken, but as you can see, the line goes off to the right, then meanders back to where we were. The people behind the ship and off to the right have had their boarding pass number called. Those in line to the left of the giant Mickey ears are gold Castaway Cay members who get priority boarding.

Luv about to the boarding area. Can you tell she's excited? ;)

Yes, that's perfectly fine! :) I was actually thinking around June 15 or June 20 for the cut off date. Does this work for everyone else?

Plus, I am planning to have a dry erase board posted on my door for any changes in case anyone happens to receive a room upgrade, etc. That way everyone can find out if anything has changed.

Please let me know how everyone feels about the cut off date!

Thanks,
Jaime :)

Hello everyone! I just combined everyone's information for our FE exchange. Please let me know of any updates or if I left anyone out. Since we are such a small group, I decided against doing a spread sheet. I think this works just as well. I will continue to add to this list if any new members join our group. Several of us have not been assigned stateroom numbers yet, so please let me know this information when it becomes available so that I can update our list. Thanks again to everyone who has already provided their information! :)

I don't think I provided complete information for the FE exchange, so here goes:
Usernames: sleepydog25 (Patrick) and luvvwl (Chris)
Stateroom: 8654
Favorite characters: Tigger and Mickey, respectively
Special occasion: honeymoon (getting married at WDW a few days earlier)

In case there are some of you who would like a "live" taste of the Disney Dream leaving port, here is a link to the Port Canaveral Cam: http://portcanaveralwebcam.com/ Every Sunday, starting around 4:15 p.m. or so, three ships leave port. The first is the Carnival Sensation, followed moments later by Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas, and ending with the Disney Dream (which usually doesn't begin pulling away from the dock until close to 5 pm). It's fun to watch the Dream pulling away, the cruisers on the deck waving to people eating dinner at Fish Lips, and the horn of the Dream which plays up to four tunes on the ship's horn: When You Wish Upon a Star, A Pirate's Life for Me, A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes, and others. I believe there are a total of seven the captain can play, but usually he only plays two to four of them. At any rate, it's fun way to begin your Dream sailing early. :thumbsup2

I have been reading your trip report from last time. You too are so funny together. Very entertaining reading!! You must be so excited about getting married at Disney :D

Thank you! We're looking forward to meeting you on the cruise! One of the hallmarks of our relationship is that we do have such a wonderful time being together, and I'm glad that shows through. We spent years "looking" for each other, so there's not a moment to waste. Since we met through Disney (these very own DISboards), it holds a warm place in our hearts, so it seemed a natural place at which to get married. Again, we're excited about meeting you and everyone. :thumbsup2

Are we going to arrange a meet and greet while on the cruise? Or will be be leaving it loose...?

It would be nice to meet at some point early in the cruise or even while still in port before everyone gets busy with activities during the cruise. However, I'm unaware of any plans to do so currently. :)

I added your information to the FE exchange list. Thanks so much for providing this info. I was wondering if you would like to be in charge of arranging an official cruise meet for us since you are an experienced cruiser?!? Most of the rest of us are newbies! :) Just about everyone has expressed an interest in meeting at some point during the cruise. I agree that early in the cruise would probably work better. Just let me know if you'd be willing to take on this task! :)

Thanks,
Jaime

Sure! We'll do it! Let us think about a few times that might work for everyone (or at least most everyone), and then we'll put it up for discussion. In general, though, fairly soon after boarding but before we sail away would be the best. Again, we'll come up with some options and get back to all of you. Cheers!
