July 7, 2013 - 4 Night Bahamian Cruise - Disney Dream

I think meeting before we set sail is a great idea. That way it is fresh on everyone's mind, and activities probably haven't started yet.

I am more than ready to get on the ship, relax, and have some fun with my daughter......I need the break from things!!!!

Luv and I will have a plan on when and where we can all try to meet that first day. We are ready for sun, sand, drink, and fun....not necessarily in that order.

Is there going to be a spreadsheet made so we know which rooms to deliver our FE gifts???

Hello everyone. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we've had to reschedule our cruise. :( I've removed our information from the FE gift exchange, so at this time, there are only 6 staterooms participating. Since we were such a small group, I decided not to do a spreadsheet. At this time, there are only 2 missing stateroom numbers. If bethybobs and Casey6495 will provide these numbers, I will be happy to update this information for everyone. If someone else would like to take over from there, it would be greatly appreciated! I'm sorry that we won't be able to meet everyone and participate in this gift exchange. As a newbie, I've tried my best to keep things organized for everyone and I hope someone will be able to take over and make this a successful FE for everyone! Again, I sincerely apologize and I hope everyone has a great time on this cruise!!! :)

We had previously discussed having the cut off date around June 15 or June 20 to accommodate everyone's travel plans. I will let you guys make the final decision regarding this date.

Thanks,
Jaime

Jaime;

I am sorry to hear about you not coming with us....hope things work out.

Casey6495;

Your room is literally at the opposite end of the same hallway we are on....we're in room 2006 while you are in room 2058....same side...port side...we are in the front of the shift, near the forward elevators, while you are in the aft of the ship towards the rear elevators....it should be easy to exchange gifts for us and meet up!!! I think someone else is on Deck 2 as well.....

Does anyone want to create a spreadsheet of the information for the FE exchange?

Jaime, we too are sorry to hear you won't be joining us, but we're sure you'll have a great time when your date arrives.

As we are working on a time for a possible meet early on the first day, we're also willing to take a shot at creating a spreadsheet, of sorts, for the FE exchange. With there now being six cabins, if I count correctly, I suggest we do two each day since the last day folks will be wanting to pack in order to have their luggage ready for pickup late the last evening. We'll take one of the first day exchanges since we know our way around. Anyone else have preferences? :)

SleepyDog25;

I appreciate you taking the reigns on creating a spreadsheet for our tiny group.

As far as preferences go....I was just going to take the spreadsheet, after meeting everyone possibly, and go around to the rooms spreading our FE gifts to everyone on the 1st day.....that way it will allow us to get acquainted with the ship and different decks and then also allow us to get the FE gifts our of the way.

I made way too many FE gifts....I have like 40 FE gifts so I will probably just give 2 to each cabin and then give the CM's little gifts along the way too!!!

It does sound as though you'll be giving out gifts to crewmembers! pirate:
Since our group is so small, I suggest that we won't actually need a true spreadsheet; however, to ensure that the goodies are evenly distributed throughout the cruise (i.e., each stateroom will get something every day), we propose the following schedule:
July 7 - Sleepydog/Luvvwl and RGLakatos
July 8 - bethybobs and casey6495
July 9 - JacksonFamily and CarrieA
July 10 - Since this is the day we must pack our bags and place them out in the hallway in the evening, and since this is the at-sea day and folks will be busy with their last-minute activities, we thought it best not to dole out gifts on this day (unless somebody misses their day or simply wants to ;)). However, we are open to suggestions.

Finally, here is a look at the FE we purchased via eBay

One more thing!
How does 2 o'clock on July 7 at the Vista Café on Deck 4 (roughly mid-ship, I believe) for a quick meet-and-greet just so we can put names to faces? We have a meeting at 2:30; there is the lifeboat drill at 3:45, immediately followed by the sail away party. Two o'clock gives everyone time to get check out their rooms, drop their luggage, then find the café and still leave time after for follow-on activities. :)

We are game for anything. I will plan on passing ours out on July 9th as posted, as long as that is what others will do too. Sorry to hear that Jaime and her daughter can't join us. I still think meeting on the first day prior to departing will probably be the best plan for my family. After that we will most likely be busy sun up to sun down:-)

Oh, and, we are also on deck 2. Smack in the middle I believe. Close to the elevators 2038. (I think)

You are right--you will be busy pretty much the entire time you're on the ship! For the two o'clock meeting, we figure it will just be a quick "hello" and introductions just so when we run across each other on the ship, we can wave. ;)

On a secondary note, I've posted this before, but here we go again. If anyone wishes to watch the Dream go out, she'll leave port between 4:45 and 5 p.m. on Sundays. Here's the link to the webcam. http://portcanaveralwebcam.com/ Currently, the Dream is still in port as you can see. The Fantasy leaves on Saturdays at approximately the same time, and this link also shows her leaving then. On Saturdays, a Carnival cruise ship leaves (Dream?) followed by the Fantasy, then on Sundays the line-up is the Carnival Sensation, followed by the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas, then ending with the Disney Dream. The Disney ships always leave last. :thumbsup2 One last note about this webcam: it shows passengers lining the rail and waving toward the camera and diners at Fish Lips, and if you look up your sail date, you can actually purchase a video of the sail away. So, if you stand in a noticeable location (between the smoke stacks, in particular), you'll be able to see yourselves! pirate:

The schedule for FE gift exchange and time to meet are fine with us.......

It should be a very fun and relaxing cruise!!

BTW....We just got out luggage tags yesterday....just in case anyone was looking for them to come in the mail. However, the luggage tags come from Lake Buena Vista close to Disney World in Orlando and we reside in Orlando so it might be another week before everyone else starts to recurve their cruise packet.

Thank you, sleepydog25, for taking over the FE exchange for me! It is greatly appreciated!!! :) I updated the list with the room number that was provided. It looks like the only stateroom number that is missing belongs to bethybobs. As soon as this information is provided, I will update the list again. Thanks again for taking on this task! I hope you all have a fabulous time!!! :)

Good thing you qualified that statement about living near WDW because luv was wondering where ours were when she read about your location. Whew! :lmao:

You did all the work, so it was an easy move for us to finish what you so joyously started. We'll miss not having you on our cruise, but I'm sure your energy will be just as infectious on the next! :thumbsup2

2pm should be fine for us. Vista Cafe is just above the Atrium. It is a cute little cafe. Matt and I sat there and people watched last year while having a drink.
