Those hotels look very pricey! Any suggestions for cheaper places to stay? I'm thinking to go to Dover for 3 days before, just to relax, and then possibly London for 3 days after.

What about transfers? Best airport? So many questions...I guess we have a long time to sort it all out.

Sounds like a great bunch of people that can help each other out.

I'm sooooo excited.

We booked the DCL transfers as of now, but will look into private transport when it gets closer. Whichever one is cheaper is what we'll do. For the Med we did the DCL transfers, and they were fine, but if we can save some money we will.

We're also planning on flying in a few days early, maybe July 1st, and probably flying out the 19th. If we don't use the DCL hotels then we can't do their transfers so there's something else we need to consider. We're not sold on their hotels (though we didn't really look into them much yet) so that would make or break the transfers too.

Being a family of 5, the cost of transfers and Disney hotels can really add up. Especially in Europe where you need two rooms. Our pre night in Dubin is $800 a night, and if we wanted one night in Shannan, it would be $1600 (of course that is in a Castle).

I like doing Disney, its less stressful, but if I can save, thousands, I think I can figure it out on my own (with a little help from the disboards of course!)

Hello,

I just sent my deposit off to DU. I'm keep checking my email for a confirmation. The anticipation is crazy.

I was so excited last week when I saw DCL was doing European cruises. I've been out of the Disney mind for most of the last year. My husband took a job in Germany (we came from Virginia). So we have been traveling a lot in Europe. As much as we can afford anyway. Except for a long weekend at DLP I haven't had much time to think Disney.

We took a 7 day Eastern Cruise in 2006 and loved it so much. We were supposed to go back last spring but canceled because of our move here. Anyway, I'm just giddy right now with excitement and slightly nauseous over the price. We ended up taking 2 Cat 11 rooms even though I really wanted 2 Cat 9 rooms. I hate not having a window. But we were so rarely in our room on the last cruise, I think we'll be ok without one. We are booked for rooms 6007/11. They are the long ones. I wish they connected but we should be Ok.

Who are we? Myself, Carrie; DH, Kevin; DD, Lauryn 17 on cruise; DD Maysen, 10 on cruise; and DS Jamie 8 on cruise.
Kevin will have a big birthday on the this cruise and our we'll have our anniversary on it too!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I am really bad about writing back on these things, but always wish to do better. This time I'll try. It will be great to know some people before we go.

Ok - Here it is:

http://poundstorubles.webs.com/

This is our first attempt at this - so please- make suggestions! It is definitely a work in progress. We can add more pages as time goes on as well.

I think I have everyone that e-mailed so far listed on the Cruiser's page and also your birthday's listed on the calendar page. If I missed something or spelled something wrong, please let me know.

Also, if you want to add or change your personal stuff, please don't hesitate to shoot me an e-mail. It isn't a problem to make changes.

I was thinking if one of us can't do a logo - I know I can't, I was thinking maybe we could ask someone on the creative board if they could help us? :confused3 When we got one - we can add it to the site too.

Thanks!

Wow... that was fast. It looks great. I have not clue in how to setup webpages so, you did a GREAT job... I'll send my info soon!

Tina

Greetings to all!

We have just booked our 4th Disney Cruise

We have sailed a 4-day Castaway Cay cruise in 98', the Med. cruise (June 16, 2007) and Mexican Riviera June 08'.

Have enjoyed all 3 of our cruises and hoping to enjoy the 4th

Our party consists of my parental unit: DF Kevin, DM Vicki, DB Jared (19), Me Chris (17), DS Cass (9)

My brother is looking for people to meet up with before the cruise because he can no longer attend the stack and would like to roll with people his own age.

We are looking forward to expanding our traveling distance through Europe. Trying to decide whether to fly into Paris,Dublin, or just take a direct from Chicago to London for a pre cruise excursion. However dealing with the crisis in Heathrow(sp) :sad2: isn't looking good. Still have nightmares from the Med.

and our rooms are on Deck 5 yay! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'll be 22 on this cruise, but on my last 3 cruises I was 18, 19, and 20 and found met people between the ages 18-23 and we all hung out and had a blast doing stuff and hangging out.

Kelly thanks for setting up the website. It looks amazing. I'll get our info sent to you by tomorrow.

We just booked everythign for thsi trip through DCL. Less stress that way. For the Med cruise we booked everything ourselves and it was just more stressful. I want to be able to get on the plane knowing everything is paid for and i'll have transportation from the airport to our hotel.

Hi, everyone! I see some familiar faces on here from our Med cruise! I'll be looking forward to seeing you again, but this time, in a different part of Europe. Yahoo!:woohoo:

PS
I am CarolAnnC's daughter and am 25

We're so there!

My DW and I were on ACL (another cruise line) celebrating our 20th anniversary when bookings opened, so before we left I emailed our desires to Kelsie at DU and she handled everything for us (she did our '07 Med cruise too).

Intros:
Me - John
DW - Karen
DS1 - Alex (17 at sailing)
DS2 - Kyle (15 at sailing)
DS3 - Max (10 at sailing)
In two connecting Cat 10s 2071 & 2073
Second Dining (but waitlisted for main)

We are so excited to be sailing again with our 070707 shipmates and looking forward to meeting our new 7610 shipmates!

For those of you staying in London beforehand, if it helps we usually stay at the Millenium Knightsbridge when we go down there . It's very close to a tube station, and just around the corner from Harrods.

Just a suggestion

Hi John!
It's about time we heard from you! I kept asking Kaylie if she'd heard from Kyle. I knew you were on the anniversary cruise but wanted to see you here:cool1:

I hope you've caught up on all of the postings...tshirts, logos, etc??? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kathy
ps-you need to update your blog

Hi Kristen! Glad you have found your way here!

For those of you staying in London beforehand, if it helps we usually stay at the Millenium Knightsbridge when we go down there . It's very close to a tube station, and just around the corner from Harrods.

Just a suggestion

I will check this one out. What are your suggestions for transportation to the Port in Dover if we stay at a hotel such as this one? Would a town car for a family of 4 be outrageous?

Sorry Carol, I'm not familiar with the term "town car". Do you mean taxi? Hire car?

There's a nice website showing some options here

http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/dover_london_transfers.htm

Me? I'd take the train, then a cab from the train station to the port.

Oh yes, sorry for the language confusion. Town Car is type of car such as a 4 door sedan that companies send much like a limousine. We tend to say "town car" when we want transportation from home to the airports. Hire car is the same thing I believe - a car with a driver, right? Thanks for the link! My only worry with the train is trying to drag our luggage onto it with us..we don't travel light, lol.

Wow Lots of planning already. It is all I can do to plan for next week. The good news is that we have a great travel agent so we are booked on this cruise.:woohoo: :woohoo:

This will be our 6th Disney Cruise. Our last one was the East Bound Panama Canal cruise so we cannot go back to 7 day cruises.

It is myself - Ruth

DH - Steve
DD - Erin who is 17 and will be 18 on the cruise (and really looking forward to getting into Palos)
DS - Max who is 13 now but will be 15 at cruise time

My sister Abby - she'd kill me if I put her age
Her DD - we hope she is waiting for the call from Kazakhstan to pick up her soon to be adopted baby

Oh My only worry with the train is trying to drag our luggage onto it with us..we don't travel light, lol.

I'm a bit worried about that, too, especially since it is a bit of a ride. Are there different kinds of hire cars? For instance, regular car size, or larger?

Hi all! I have a huge dilemma! LOL When I originally heard the DCL was sailing to Europe again- this time w Russia as the star!! I was soo psyched! Then the pricing came out! So DH and I booked a cat 10 gty for the WB TA. I am excited; but I want to see Russia! So, will I seem totally stupid if I email DU to change my ressie? I just feel that I have to see these places.:woohoo: Please help me!!!
Thanks, Angel
