Just today I got our reservation confirmation from DVC for the cruise! Almost 2 months to get it. DH says it seems like 6 months since we booked.
Anyone else use points for part of the cruise? My paper says we used points for the 3rd and 4th but I paid cash for them. It also shows the first two with lower points then what they told me. It still all adds up to the correct points and cash....but doesn't make sense. Also since they got rid of the fuel surcharge I am wondering what they will do for DVC point people...

OK, so we bought our tree Monday night. STILL NOT DECORATED!!!! I am jealous of every one of you that has a prelit artificial tree. I decided to go with the white twinkle lights. Jack was so excited. I was stinging the last sting (6th) and it blew out. checked every bulb and nadda...changed the fuses as well. Then I noticed that another string was blown out. I took all the lights off. checked them again. They are now in my trash can. I started to put up the colored ones I usually put on...halfway done I quit. DH is now in charge of lights. 9 feet of noble fir half lit...not so pretty or Christmassy. At least it smells good.

We booked in full on points, but DVC was waiving the fuel surcharge for bookings done thru MS at the time. So we are even...If you were charged the fuel surcharge you would have paid it in full at booking. So you may want to double check on that..I still have not received my confirmation. I called MS and they told me it was mailed out end of October. They were not sure if they could send out a duplicate, sigh. Will have to call them again I am sure.

We purchased new LED lights for our tree this year. They are very vibrant and pretty, and will use a fraction of the electricity. You might want to check into them...or pick some up after the holidays when they mark them down.

This is DD Jen's graduation weekend! She has completed her Bachelor's in Nursing and we have lots of events to attend. Today is the recognition and pinning ceremony. Tomorrow will be the actual graduation events. We are all so happy and excited. She has done a phenomenal job and we are looking forward to celebrating.

When we booked they said the fuel charge was built into the points so maybe there will be a point adjustment or on board credit? I will call.

Carol - congratulations to Jen! I know you all are so proud of her - give her lots of hugs and congratulations from her DIS family.

I am in STacking mode, getting ready for officially Packing in the next day or so as we are leaving Friday for our holiday cruise on the Magic. We are anxious to see and be able to report back on the changes to her since we last sailed on her in 2007. The boys STILL don't know about it although both Gary and I have slipped in conversation - guess this is one of those times when we're glad they don't pay attention to us (LOL). I'll be doing a trip report when we get back, so I'll be sure to post a link here. Lissa (tinkerbell_29) and Lisa (njmom23grls) are also sailing with us so I'm sure they will chime in as well.

Called DVC this morning. The lady said we, who booked using points, will get a letter close to depature time telling us we have a ship board credit for the fuel surcharge. (unless of course by then they re-add it) She did not know for how much. She also said the points for now on will NOT be lowered. They are still charging the same points and will adjust with a ship board credit...
I like credit but would rather have some points back.....

Wow! This is good news! We booked totally on points for the four of us, so a shipboard credit would be fantastic! We used up so many points that getting a few back wouldn't do us any good any way since we wouldn't have enough to go anywhere, lol.

BTW, just received our cruise confirmation in the mail today! Either they resent it, or it never was sent back in October to begin with! Love seeing it in writing, as it makes the excitement commence here again.

We are in full packing mood here. Our garage/storage room looks like a suitcase factory exploded. I'm going to try to do a TR. I attempted one for our summer trip and just didn't have the time. Only 3 more days and then were off to WDW and then the cruise.

He is so adorable!!!

It has been pouring rain all night here in not so sunny at the moment California. I know this because i barely got any sleep. A little chilly as well...in the 40s. Snow level will drop to about 2500 feet...maybe as low as 1000 feet (rumor). we may get a few flurries later in the week. wishing I could stay in bed all day. Have a cold Really happy this is my week off of carpool

My DH finally got the lights up on the tree last night. Jack and I will hang the ornaments after school, then Stacey will set up the train after dinner. Hard to believe there is only one weekend left before Christmas.

we had to put my cat to sleep today. It was much harder seeing her hurting yesterday then sleeping her asleep today before we put her in the ground
here is a picture of her. We've had her since I was 3 or 4 so she was pretty old. This was taken the day before halloween

thanks, yes it is hard, my mom was even sad and I didn't think she would be. But after I saw her tonight before my dad put her in the ground it made me feel a little better, not seeing her weak and not be able to do anything, so it was best we put her down she was like 18 or 19 so pretty old for a cat
