Carol - thanks for the news about II / RCI. I guess I should hang out on the DVC boards a bit more - seems like I am only here right now - hhhmmm... could it have something to do with the fact that I'm cruising in 16 days! LOL. Our very first timeshare stay was through RCI - my BIL/SIL gave us one of their weeks. We stayed in Williamsburg. I'm actually thinking the RCI will be better for us than the II because RCI has more places we'd like to go than II did. But I guess the Marriott in Boston is off my list.

And to make this "on topic" - the boys and I got the AAA maps out yesterday to look at where all our ports are in relation to each other. We are pretty much hitting a straight latitude for Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, and St. Petersburg. And I got my bearings on Warnemunde (which I keep thinking is at the end but it's actually our third port)... We had been talking about Berlin but see that Hamburg seems a wee bit closer and are wondering if DCL will offer an excursion to Hamburg. Then that made the boys want to find Hammelburg (they like to watch Hogan's Heroes) and Dusseldorf (because it's mentioned in Hogan's Heroes) so we had a nice little Germany geography lesson. And who said DCL isn't educational????!!! :teacher: (that's what we say about t.v. or video games whenever we find there is actual "learning" going on while something is especially fun.)

how's everyone doing, I've finish all my shopping for christmas, now planning my back-to-back cruise for Febuary 21st-march 7th, 2009. Western then St. Croix Eastern:goodvibes

Got my AAA travel books $8 each (cheap) full of great info. I got the Europe and Britain books. Cover price was around $18 and $20 each w/o membership

I finally got out and took some pictures. I'll try to get a video soon since the lights dance to music.

Great pics! The weeks of work definitely shows.

I've missed everybody! lol. I haven't posted in a while as I've been extremely busy with work and graduate school. I've seen a few commercials on TV about things happening in 2010, and it tricked me into thinking our trip is not all that far away. :goodvibes

just can't hold in the excitement!!! They broke ground this week in Ko'Olina Hawaii at the new DVC and hotel.....we love it there. We own at Marriott's there at Ko'Olina and visit almost each year. It will be perfect....one week at Marriott's and one week at Disney!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Here is a link to the news report about the ground breaking....

Hawaii television coverage of the ground blessing.

Very cool.. Thanks for the link. We own at Marriott too. I just got our 2nd trade to Ko'Olina for next Thanksgiving. We loved the place when we visited a few years ago. We are anxious to go back. We just visited Bay Lake Towers Model at Saratoga Springs over Thanksgiving and we loved the step-up even thought we could manage in a studio with the step-up. We really want to add more points too since we are always in the borrow mode.

We also own Marriott at Lake Tahoe, Shadow Ridge & Waiohai. Since we don't get enough vacation time to use all these timeshares, I rent them alot. We can't wait until we are old enough to retire and use them all for many vacations.

I was working on my door signs for our upcoming Christmas cruise and I have to say that they were not nearly as fun to work on as when we went to the Med. So now I'm thinking already about door signs for the Baltic :) In fact, Zachary (DS11) saw me working on the door signs and asked me why I was working on them so early (oops - good thing he didn't see the one with the Dec. 2008 dates!). He enjoyed helping me with our Med signs, so when it's time to start working on the Baltic ones for real, I'm going to have him help me.
