July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

My parents have decided to join us on this trip..:thumbsup2:cool1:

We are getting excited now about the trip..still going stir crazy that i can't do anything more in planning..:rotfl2:

anyone know when disney may put up the excurssion? hoping its before the end of this year so we can research and have some time to decide.
although the only one i plan on doing is deep sea fishing.

Everyone seems to be quiet lately. Everyone have a good Easter??

I was reading on another board that there is a high school graduation party on this cruise as well.

Hi Tracy - still here! Easter was quiet at our house but nice. Hope yours was as well.

We've got a cruise coming up in 94 days that includes a wedding party so our focus has been on that and some plans for Disneyland this December.

I was just thinking yesterday that I need to start putting some money down on this cruise now that the other is all paid off.

yeah fairly quiet here for Easter. DD had her birthday party over the weekend but even that was fairly quiet.

I'm jealous.. I would love to be cruising again so soon. is it one pof your kids that is getting married?

I just figured out what i needed to pay monthly to get ours paid off as well.

No - DH and I don't have any kids of our own.

The bride is the daughter of a fellow DISer we met back on our 2004 10 day cruise. She was 16 at the time. We sailed again with about 8 of those families in 2006. She was then 18 and joined us for Palo Brunch. In 2008 she got engaged while on a Mexican Riveria cruise (my DH and I missed that one) and she's getting married on Castaway Cay this July. There are about 5 families that have cruised together before going for this wedding/reunion cruise.

Hi Everybody

I'm here. We cruise 2/14/10 on the Magic (was suppose to cruise on 2/13/10) My long.... report
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2403413

Disney gave us 20% off plus $275.00 OBC DH (our 20th anniversary) DD who is 15 now and my DMIL will be joining us.

I am still trying to figure out if we should fly into Seattle or Vancouver we have 4 months to decide. I will be buying our air in August

Did everyone received a pamphlet from Disney regarding our cruise? I got it early this week.

Jodi, haven't heard from you, are you ok? Are you still going? Is your DMIL going too?

Ok i know this is way in advanced but i thought i would throw it out there anyways.. Does anyone want to get an FE going and/or a meet and greet for this cruise?? I can keep be the keeper of people and such thats no big deal to me.

We did a meet and greet on our last cruise and really enjoyed it. Plus we traded addresses for the kids to send christmas cards and such to before the cruise.

i meant to answer this last nite and forgot. We are flying into seattle the price is like 300 more to go into vancouver. thats about the same time frame i will get our flights going. I have been researching the past week for rental car. with 5 of us plus luggage we are considering a rental car instead of amtrak but then again i need to check prices on leaving the rental in vancouver port versus leaving it at amtrak. but having a rental would be so much easier with everything.

yep we got our pamphlet earlier this week. kind of shocked me as i wasn't expecting anything this far in advanced. was hoping they would have listed some excursions in it but no dice.

Good morning everyone!

Trying to catch up on stuff. DH and I will be on this cruise. It's been a long time dream of his to see Alaska.... but only on Disney!

Missed this on my last post. Welcome! Bronwen right? We cruised together on one of the DVC cruises.

No I think they met in college. That would make the story too good to be true. :)

At this point we are looking at driving to Vancouver. We've never been out west before and have been driving to WDW for the last 4-5 years. We didn't get a pamphlet on the cruise yet. Hope it comes soon. What did it have in it?

We'd be up for both an FE exchange and a meet and greet as long as someone else organizes. We've done the web pages and DIS meets for about our last 8 or 9 cruises and I'm a little burned out. I do have a great map to share if we decide to do the DIS meet in the Promenade Lounge.:thumbsup2

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

how long of a drive is that for you? would take us like 3-4 days and that would be driving straight thru. we briefly tossed the idea around but decided to go ahead and fly out and rent a car out there.

i don't mind organizing the FE exchange and meet/greet. at least this far in advance we can really plan our FE gifts out..lol

It would be at least a 3 day trip. We plan on leaving Friday night after work and go up into Wisconsin at least and then Sat - Sun - Mon. We sail Tuesday to Tuesday and then have Wed - Sun to get back home so we'll do a little sightseeing on the way back. We could, of course, change our minds but that is the plan for now.

that is exactly what we had planned on doing and then thought about the long trip home when you start getting that i just wanna be home feeling and you have a day of driving yet. we opted to fly then but we are renting a car and driving from seattle to vancouver. and then driving back to seattle after the trip. will have to pay to park the rental car for the cruise but findning with 5 people its the cheaper route for us. but who knows with 5 of us and 4 being adults we may end up changing our minds and driving

I think we are going to take the train back to Seattle after the cruise.

I would love to be at the meet!!!! ;)

Include us in for the FE and meet. I already know what I am going to make!!!! :thumbsup2

On our last cruise I organized pictures of everyone before we cruised. About 2 weeks before we cruised I sent them out to everyone so we knew what everyone looked like before hand. I can organize this again if you guys think it's a good idea.

i just learned yesterday that i am the only one out of the 5 of us that is going that has ever been on Amtrak. so i am thinking more then likely the option of taking the train to vancouver and back will be what ends up getting choosen. :thumbsup2

We've done that with previous cruise groups and it has worked out well as a chance to get to know everyone. Let me know where to send it.

I know another thing some groups have done is organize a group on Facebook. Anyone else on there?

I am but i don't go there very often.

I am going to make a spreadsheet this weekend for the FE and meet so those that said yes can you let me know your stateroom numbers if you have them, names and ages in your group.
