July 5, 2011 - Mickey's WONDERful Alaskan Adventure

I have put PDF's of the excursions on our website.

Excellent - thanks!

Sweet! Now could you remind me how to get to the web site?

Thanks!

Right now in the running are:
Ketchikan: Classic Misty Fjords Flightseeing or Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour (my boys watch Deadliest Catch...)

Juneau: Whale Encounter and Mendenhall Glacier (not that we are stalking Mary and Mark but they have excellent taste in excursions....)

Skagway: All Aboard Steam Train

Will have to run all of them by my men before we decide. Anyone know when we can start booking?

One of our friends did Alaska last summer and her son did the Bering Sea Crab tour and LOVED it!

We'd love to have you guys on the same excursion. All the better to have full pictures of both families! :)

Having a real hard time deciding on what excursions to do. The first one I looked at scared the bejeebus out of me, it was like 600 bucks! Now I'm afraid to click on any of them that mention glacier!

We've booked our flights - ouch $$$ but we got the non-stop flights we wanted. Coming into Vancouver the Saturday before the cruise and flying home the day we disembark.

Now to pay off the final portion of the cruise before booking day (early March) and then save up for the excursions. What I did last time which worked well is sent an onboard credit to ourselves that was paid off the credit card before we sailed and then we had a much smaller bill at check out. Going to try and do the same thing this time.

We asked for Disney Gift Cards for Christmas! These will definitely help with paying for excursions.:cool1:

Before the new year we booked our flights, paid Disney in full, purchased insurace, and hoping to transfer my Disney Rewards money on the shipboard account.

Now I can focus on the excursions and cost :scared1:

We are paid in full :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Way to go! :thumbsup2

YEAH! Was there a reason to pay early other than getting it off your plate? Just curious as we were planning to pay closer to the due date.

TK

Well you have to be paid in full before you can book excursions. Our booking date is early March so we need to be paid in full by then. Planning on paying the cruise off next month.

Excellent!

Good morning my fellow Alaskan cruisers!

We sail in 25 weeks!

Here is our tentative plan:

Skagway - Yukon Suspension Bridge, City and White Pass Rail (the White Pass rail has been on my list from the beginning).

Ketchikan - Saxman Village & Lumberjack Show - adults only excursion

Juneau - Mendenhall Glacier & Whale Watching

What is everyone else looking at doing?

We finally sat down this weekend and poured through the excursions. Looks like we all have similar interests! Here's our plan:

Skagway: White Pass Rail either round trip or with Yukon Suspension bridge or lake kayak add-on

Ketchikan: Misty Fjords Flightseeing for DH and DS, and Wildlife/Raptor/Totems + Lumberjack Show for me, and 2 DSs (if we're able to schedule both)

Juneau - Whale encounter + Mendenhall Glacier

Good morning my fellow Alaskan cruisers!

Anyone else need to be added to the FE list? I am trying to get it all updated again right now.

Side note: we are still here just not on as much as my dad who is going with us just had surgery for cancer over christmas and is going thru chemo right now. He still plans on going with us on vacation so i am praying everything goes smoothly the next few months for him.

Tracy - sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm a two time cancer survivor (well working on the 2nd) so if you need to talk I'm here for you. If you don't mind giving me his name and type of cancer I'll be happy to add him to my prayers.

So if you can PM me regualr email addresses I would appreciate it.My atached file also includes individual names, staterooms, and who is celebrating what on this cruise. :thumbsup2

Tracy I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in early 2009. So i know all about the roller coaster. If there is anything I can do to help you or Rolfe please let me know either here or via pm. In the meantime I've added him to my prayers.
