July 4th fireworks at MK

I read somewhere (can't remember and I'm not even sure it was correct) that MK would have a special fireworks display starting Friday, July 1st. Right now, we are planning on leaving July 1st, but I was thinking about extending the trip one more day so we could see the "special" fireworks.

Does anyone know if they will have special fireworks starting on the 1st and are they much better than the regular Wishes? DH said he was fine staying an extra day.

Typically the special fireworks are the 3rd and 4th only.

I also read that somewhere. It did say it starts on the 1st. My plans has been to go to MK on the 3rd but after reading that I've been thinking about changing my plans.

I'm glad that you said that because I can't find it anywhere, and then I thought I was crazy! Hopefully, it is true... but after looking at the past couple of years it's been on the 3rd and 4th...

OK I found it! Don't know if I'm allowed to post links but it's a Disney Tourist Blog. So if not allowed please delete......"though I’m sure the Crystal Palace spot will be extremely crowded now!!! I plan on hitting Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky on Friday July 5th since I work both tonight and the 4th. They are actually running this show July 1st through the 7th. Last time I shot at MK I couldn’t find a nice spot in the hub area so I had to go off-center, on the pathways between the hub and the Dessert party terrace…" Reading it again now, it must be old. When was July 5th on a Friday...2013. Darn it!

This year was definitely just the 3rd and 4th, we saw them the 4th and it was spectacular!

I've reserved BLT for the 3rd, specifically so we could see the fireworks from TTOTW lounge. On the 3rd & 4th of July, you have to be staying at BLT to go up there!
