July 4

We'll be at the MK. The fireworks are awesome and the fire them off around the Lagoon outside the park too! We entered the park last year just minutes before the fireworks (we thought they started at 9:30!). We were routed backstage and were there when the fireworks went off. No crowds! No music :(. We'll be better prepared this time :). Liberty Square sounds like a good place, but maybe I'll stake out my favorite MK fireworks place early ;).

It was my impression that you might not be able to access Polynesian's grounds if you weren't staying there on 4th of July. Maybe that would be difficult to enforce with the monorail and boat access. I guess the only limit they could really enforce would be to not allow people to park there if they weren't staying there.
I guess they could go around and ask for room keys but it would be rough to do. We have been at the Polynesian or the California Grill 4th party the last five years for the fireworks. They are worth seeing. Last year at the Polynesian I talked to one of the security guards and they were letting people with PS' park (don't know if they were giving them a time limit) and turning away quite a few others just trying to park. There was a rumor that you had to be staying there at the Polynesian to view the fireworks but it has not been enforced that we could tell. The security guard told me we were welcome to stay. There were quite a few people staking out their spots on the beach even at 400 PM. We ate at 'Ohana at opening. Was not rushed at all, then relaxed at the base of Sunset Pointe. People were showing up with arms full of what looked like the resort's pool towels. It got really packed by fireworks time. After the show was over people left towels all over the place. Didn't even have the decency to put them in the towel stowage boxes on the way out. Did the usual hop over to MK until closing. Everyone was pouring out and they routed us through the backstage area around mainstreet.:)

We will be finishing our last full day on the Disney Magic. I heard there will be a barge with fireworks this year alongside the ship! The next day after Disembarkation we head to WDW.

Dizzy Laura:tongue:

All day @ MK just like last year! Early dinner @ the Castle then the front of the park before the fireworks so we can get transportation easily;)

We are doing the pin thing on the 4th and then hanging out around Epcot then rest of the morning

If you are planning on getting all the pins in all 4 parks it's going to take you all of the morning.

We did it last year it was a zoo. My suggestion, hit MK first be there before opening then from there hop Monorail to Epcot pick up pin there. Walk through Epcot to take boat or walkway to MGM, from there take AK Lodge bus and then at AK Lodge take bus to AK.

Good Luck!

AK or MGM in a.m., then Epcot for the late afternoon-closing. We were going to try Ohana's on the 4th for dinner, but decided to eat at Epcot, so we have PS for Rose and Crown:D

Agree there! It can take a lot out of you if doing it on your own. Now if you can get family cooperation, it can take less time. The lines did seem longer last year. Not big pin traders here. We just like to collect some of the LE holiday pins. Wimping out after running around like a nut to all 4 parks in the AM the last number of years. Will relax instead of passing out in the early afternoon.;)
The 4th of July LE pins for Epcot can be found at the registers at Mousegear. It may save you from standing in a big line at the pin booth.

We were staying at BVC and OKW last July but we went to the Polynesian for the fireworks, on advice of a CM. It was great. The place was a zoo, and they obviously were not limiting who came over to see the fireworks. We ate dinner and watched from the beach. The fireworks were the best I have ever seen -- you literally didn't know where to look as so much was exploding at once.

We chickened out on visiting the MK. My children are young and I thought it would be too chaotic. Instead we visited the MK on the 5th, when everyone else was recovering. It was great -- not too crowded at all.

Everyone have a ball! The 4th is an exciting time to be at WDW.

We are staying at the Poly, lagoon view so hopefully we will watch the fireworks from our room. We have reservations for dinner at the Brown Derby that evening. I have wanted to be at WDW for the 4th for as long as I can remember and am really looking forward to this trip.
