We are planning another big family trip to WDW next summer- arriving June 27 and leaving July 3. While I know July 4 usually reaches capacity, will the days leading up to the fourth be crazy busy? We have been in summer and even Christmas week- I'm hoping the crowd levels will be closer to the summer crowd than Christmas week.
Anyone with experience this week?

No experience with it, but I would guess with July 4 being a Friday, you might be in a good position with crowds being heavier on the 5th & 6th. It'll probably be busier on the 3rd though.

That was my thinking too - but July 4 is on Saturday. I was thinking the crowds may come in more on Thursday for a long weekend- but we will be leaving Friday and not going to a park- so we will miss the 3rd in the parks:)

We travel every year over NYE. This year was our first July 4th trip. We arrived on June 24th and left on July 7th. It was crowded but nowhere near NYE level crowds. We found MK on July2nd to be fairly average at best. However, the heat IMO makes it harder to get as much done regardless of the crowds. It seemed to be more typical summer crowds the whole trip.

Haha I forgot this year it was on Friday. I bet the crowds will be very similar to this years then.

Hi - we were there for 14 days from 28th June to 12th July. We only ever go in the summer so we only know the big crowds!!

MK seemed much busier than other times we have been, but the other parks were just normal summer busy!!

We Spent 4th July evening at Epcot...got fast pass for TestTrack, ADR at Biergarden and plenty of room to see the fireworks....slow walk back to the bus stop and was back at POFQ before 1100 PM.

Definitely would go back 4th July again...not anywhere near as bad as we thought it might be...keep away from MK during the day and you'll be fine!!

I have done July 4th tons of times
It clearly is more busy when it is fri-mon but even on slower days like we'd it's crowded
Not as bad as Christmas/nye though
You will def see the crowds grow as the week goes on so I recommend mk early in the week and Epcot late
