July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Hi All

I have just booked for this cruise after seeing some of the offers for cat 12's

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, (I have yet to tell DH as he said ' that's it, no more disney for a few years') But since it was a bargain and it was so close to home, it would be rude not to take advantage wouldn't it?

I will have to find time to read through all the posts and get some organising done. Not sure about what excursions there are and finances are tight but I am happy just to be on the Magic.

It will be Me (Sue) DH (Richard) DD (Rosie18) and DD (Alice will be 12)

Hello Scottishwee. I have read so many of your posts over the last few years, you are like a celebrity. I may ask you for your autograph!

Sue:goodvibes

Welcome :dance3:

DD is trying to convince me that we should join you on this cruise.....so I'm looking at air from the US. Are you guys finding anything good? DCL has taken the air option off the internet; the CM said I can call the air desk on Monday. Aer Lingus has some June specials. Ah well, I'll keep looking.

I have been looking for air fare from Canada for some friends who might join us, and the airfare has pretty much stayed the same for the last year, around the $1000 per person from Toronto.

We did shoe shopping today:eek:, went and got the girl some sandals that hopefully will be good for walking. We prefer flipflops but I doubt they will be too good for walking on the cobblestone streets. Now we need to get into walking shape.;)

Good luck with the flights and hopefully we will be welcoming you aboard real soon :thumbsup2 :cool1: :sail:

We are coming from California. I have been searching airfare for the last 6 months. The cheapest I ever saw was $970 per person including tax on Air Canada. Most of the time I was searching, it was $1,200 - $1,400. The cheapest fares have been on Air Canada and KLM websites. Aer Lingus also seems to have cheap fares from time to time, you just have to keep looking, and it depends on where you are coming from. Also, if you have neighboring airports where you could depart from, check all of them because you may find a lower fare. Also look into staying a day or two later so you avoid flying on the weekend. Hope this helps.

Hello Everyone

I am back ;) from Belfast...

I had a nice times and had the good weather as it was 25

sunny and what a heat....

Euro go karking - I didn't watch it as I went to shopping :rotfl::rotfl:

because Scotland fail to get in competition... for a little thing as it is a long story... we still went along and join the party last night... It was good fun...

WINNER - Germany

Dirk - I am sorry Belguim was bottom:rolleyes1 wooden spoon for them  but Italy and Belguim was first times to join in Deaf Euro Karting... I had chatting with Belguim Deaf Group as they are using one hand sign just like ASL... I had a bit communication with them which was good...

We're getting closer to being on the cruise (in fact, I think my TA is holding a cabin for us, but I haven't harassed her in the last few hours). Question to DD: Would you rather spend 10 days on the Wonder (B2B sailings) or 8 on the Magic? "Mom, get REAL. It's the Magic and it's Europe."

SO...I've been looking at hotels for pre-days, how do do everything, etc. Found one goodie. DCL transfers from London to the terminal in Dover are $85 per person. Bus from Victoria Station to Dover has "fun fares" of 4 pounds! Regular fares are like 14 pounds. I'm seriously thinking we may be doing a "pre-day" in Dover. Taxi to cruise terminal is 7 pounds.

OH...we did find some interesting plane fares....although we have to book out of a large airport and then take a Southwest flight to get there. It makes for a very long day. DD's comment on that is that "Any time you're going to Europe you may as well figure on a long and not too fun travel day, but it's all worth it. Besides, I'll have my laptop and the airports will hopefully have free wifi."

I think I'm being played like a fiddle.

Great - would be lovely to have you guys join us, I am siding with your DD on this one, 8 days on the Magic in Europe wins over 10 days on the Wonder doing B2B Bahamas (well ok the weather might not be as good but it will definitely be something different!)

Thanks! Yes, I'm on the Disboards way too much...but then, I'm on the ship enough that some people think I'm crazy. Don't you feel sorry for those poor souls who just don't understand?

SO much to plan, so little time. Started looking at excursions and stuff tonight.

My daughters read this post and like your daughter's thinking.:rotfl:

I used hoteltravel.com ( never heard of them before) to book the Park Plaza Victoria for 106 euros and it is still available for at least July 28. The rate from the Radisson web site is 184 pounds so a big difference. I did email the hotel directly and they had the reservation and gave me the hotel reservation number so I am not too worried about arriving and not having a reservation. Hotel is supposed to be within 5 minutes of Victoria Station, and I plan on taking the tube from Heathrow to Victoria Station when we fly to London.

Hello there

Just joined the DisBoards having been reading some of the threads for a while now. My daughters and I are booked on the 8 night Dover to Barcelona on 30th July too. My husband and I have done WDW Florida (before the kids) and we have done Disneyland Resort Paris 4 times in the last 7 years. Never done a Disney Cruise - but did cruise Europe on our honeymoon.

We are from Northern Ireland

Mummy - Jude
Rebecca - 10
Sarah - 5
Aileen - 5

Looking forward to it toooo much - girls don't know - They just know we are not going to DLRP this year!!!

Not sure what else to tell you ! Is there a combined list of folks on board?? Was going to try and find out about FE extenders.

Perhaps someone can help

Many thanks and looking forward to cruising with you all

Jude and the girls

Thanks for the welcome!!

I have read that you are pretty much celebrities !! I'll have to get your autographs too!

Glad you enjoyed Belfast - we did have great weather but just like Bonnie Scotland its not always like that!!!!

I will keep up to date with the thread as we count down the weeks. Do you know anything about Fish Extenders and if someone is doing them on this cruise?

Many thanks

My iPod battery is dying so I will be short.

i am looking after fe list. Small group I think 9 cabins so far, no rules you just need to leave a small gift for each cabin on the list. Can do per person or per cabin, up to you

my girls are having fun making the gifts

will add more later.

A DCL cruise is a perfect vacation for you to travel alone with your girls. We are doing this cruise leaving dad at home for the 4th time and each cruise has been better than the last.

If you can I suggest finding a copy of the Passporter Disney Cruise Line guide, the book is a wealth of basic DCl information. I know the 2010 book has been delayed but the basic information for an older version would help.

Read lots of trip reports, it really gives you an idea of what goes. I took my sister on a cruise in March and she was overwhelmed with all there was to do and missed so much. If you have an idea before hand it helps to prioritize the important things.

I did a blog of our second cruise and started it for this cruise, if you are interested.

Here is some information on the Fish Extender
.http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33184281&postcount=2

If you want to join the FE group let me know and I will add you. I have put a deadline of June 15 to join.

Ask lots of questions someone will be sure to have an answer.
