July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Hey We have a few names for our group for the Thread? What does everyone like best?
Got a topper!!:rotfl: ;)

How many days are you all spending total do you think?

You mean on on the trip? We will go to London a few days before leaving on the Baltic 12 night cruise July 18, then this one, then hopefully staying on for the Med cruise following it, then probably one more night in Barcelona before returning. It turns out to be 31 days on the ship if we do all three cruises, plus a few extra days . . .

Yep this trip.:) WoW:goodvibes You are doing both!! Cool!!:thumbsup2
I think we will be gone about 3 weeks or 4 weeks.;)
You all will be super tired after your trip.:rotfl: You will need another vacation at home to catch up and rest.:)

Last summer (2007) we did two days in Barcelona, an 11 night Med cruise, 10 days in Paris and DLP, then a 14 night transAtlantic back to Florida before flying home . . . that was actually a few more days than what we hope to do in 2010, but the transAtlantic had a lot more sea days, so it was a somewhat relaxing way to finish everything off.

WOW that is alot!! I can see where if you had the days at sea you could just kind of rest if you want to but this time I bet you will be going, going, going.;) but it will be one GREAT!!!! TRIP!!!!!

Yes, if we do all three cruises, we will be exhausted at the end, since the Med is port intensive like all the others rather than like a repo . . . I hope we do, though -- there's really nothing like being in Europe.:thumbsup2

Julie,

Since you have done this before. I have been to London and parts of Europe but not Paris and other places we will be doing on this trip.:)
What hotels do you think are good for Paris? DLP, Barcelona?
Thanks!

In Barcelona we stayed in the Hotel Continental Palacete, in the Versailles suite, which was really nice. I will post pictures at some point. There was a free lounge with food and drink 24 hours (including wine and beer), free internet terminals, and it was about 2 blocks from Placa Catalunya and the top of Los Ramblas. In Paris we stayed at the Hotel de la Bourdonnais, on Rue de Bourdonnais just off the Champs de Mars -- we could see the Eiffel tower from our room. Very convenient for walking and the Metro. At DLP we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which was expensive but really fabulous -- and included a large breakfast every morning. I have heard many good things about other hotels in all three places, so once you have a better idea of what part of town you would like to be in, let me know and I can give you other suggestions.

PS

Guys

Julie is organising a collection for all of us on the Blatic cruise to pay for all our rooms, she made a great suggestion on it, you better ask her about it here as well before funds dry up!!!!!

Brits get more due to our very poor exchange rate now!

HOTEL CRYSTAL PALACE is also very good and near Placa Catalunya and one of the few hotels with family suites at a good price.

Thanks Julie,

I don't know what part of town to stay in?
thanks for all the help/:) Can't wait to see photos!!

Hey Andrew!!
When can I add you to the list.LOL We still hope you end up going on this one too.:)

You should do a little research first -- many like to stay on Los Ramblas because it is "center of things" but others find it noisy at night . . . there is a nice all suite hotel called Hispanos Siete Suiza but it is a little farther away (near La Sagrada Familia) . . . once you look into cities more you will have any idea. In Paris, for instance, I was in the area near the Eiffel tower, but others like to stay closer to Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc. - I know a friend stayed in the Saint Germaine area and had a nice hotel there . . . Just do a little more research into the cities and you will get an idea for the neighborhood you might prefer.

At the moment I have to pay an extra 30% on the Baltic cruise as our exchange rate fell like the tower of terror this week, Now if it bounces back up to the 13th floor, I might tag along,

Julie was offering a collection for her special guy to get him on the Baltic cruise, maybe if she organizes a collection for me, maybe just a Cat 11, I can join you???

Andrew you have plenty of money to come if you want -- and I laugh at the idea of you in a cat 11! You should either convince Susan to take the time, or just do a add on 8 night cruise with the kids . . .

Ok Everyone,

Please state your fav name for our group.
And then whatever is stated the most will be the winner.:thumbsup2

Well, I still like the one I made up :

7/30/10 8 night repo cruise: From England to Espana

(or something like that)

But I will go along willingly with whatever people want.

Hey Julie! Got another topper!!

Name sounds good, will just keep adding up the votes.:):teacher:

..i'm not sure , we like too, we want too, & we have

..2 rooms,.......& others are likely to join us.. :flower3:

[ there's 5 of us]..foremost..my lil'cutie~ , & she is in charge
of all the arrangments....it would be "mutiny"..if i even try...

even hinted ...any suggestions, :rolleyes1 . she is very endearing, and
has lots of friends...& very busy. however, she does not post., no matter
how i try to redirect. then we have 2 college kids. & ...a lil' princess:

.. yes, with the big~age differences~:rolleyes1

..the pc cruise was our 6th. & the first time..i interacted with those

..on the site. we had late seating, with a fellow dis~couple...,

and met alot neat people thru-out the cruise. "we had the time "

of our lives...pixiedust:

* in fact, we would do another in a second!

[ my biggest disappointment...was not finding enough..time to
have met all those great people on the cruise site. * we did
disneyland the day before + time changes..did us in. for the first
3 - days, we slept ..alot. well... ate, alot, too~ :rolleyes1 ]

simply put~ we love what we get out of doing disney cruises!

europe..haven't been since i backpacked & used the youth hostels.
the only fast train i took..was between paris & brussels. "trains"
used to be the best way..to experience europe. if memory serves
me right, one used to be able..to pull the seats.."together"...
a great way..to travel @ night. :thumbsup2
