July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Do you get a school break soon, I thought schools in the UK have a fall break?

Yes, Next week thank goodness! Not that it ends up being a full week off as we have to plan the following half terms work and the Christmas celebrations. Just got home after a govenors meeting too! I guess I must have been very wicked at some point..... maybe too many Disney holidays?????

We've had a couple of cases of H1N1 and DH has a couple of colleagues off with it. Not too bad though at the moment.

Sounds like a great vacation. I have never been to Colorado but I have spent a lot of time in the Canadian Rockies. One of our best vacations without kids was a cycling trip from Calgary to Jasper through the Canadian Rockies, we saw lots of animals and the views were amazing. Now I cannot imagine riding 100 KM's a day for 10 days, no time for cycling.

Everyone has been sick around here with coughs and colds but no flu yet.

Are you in St Augistine? An aunt of ours was showing us some pictures on the weekend and it looks like a wonderful place, somewhere I would like to visit.

Lisa

Many years ago, my husband and I vacationed in the Canadian Rockies. We hiked and camped in Glacier-Waterton, Banff, and Jasper National Parks. Awesome mountains and views. We visited the Prince of Wales and Chateau Lake Louise, but just to walk around inside them. We camped!! Love the hiking!

We have spent many of our vacations in Canada fishing for Wall-eye or just touring and hiking. You have a beautiful country - love British Columbia!!!

Yes, we live in St. Augustine, Florida, about 10 minutes from the historical district and the beaches. We love the city/county and enjoy walking downtown in the evenings. I also volunteer for the Castillo de San Marcos (Fort) for the National Park Service when I can. The weather is perfect right now, so I would suggest visiting us in the Fall, Winter, or early Spring. Summer is brutally hot!!!

I wish the cruise is Europe was closer. Can't wait until next week when the annoucements are made for the Dream.

Hello

We are back from holiday last night...

We went to Norwich and York in England for couple of days as school holiday...

We had a lovely times at Norwich with my old friend which I have not seen them for 5 years... We stayed with them...

Kids enjoyed themselves and spend times with their two daughters...

Then we drove up to York for one night...

Kids love it and there is castle - like old fashion building in town...

Kids went up to castle but poor Keith got a bit scared of height but he managed it...

We got back home last night at Scotland as it was raining and cold:sad2:

Kids back to school on Tuesday...

When you volunteer do you get to wear period costumes, that must be fun.

How far is St Augustine from Cape Canavaeral, maybe we will go there instead on DW in March.

Good Morning,

I am a visitor assistance volunteer, so I wear a tan shirt and hat. The soldiers wear the military uniform from the first Spanish Period. You have to attend cannon/musket school to wear the military uniform. I guess I have not warmed up to the idea of firing the cannon yet....St. Augustine is about 130 miles from the Port. I grew up in Brevard County and my family lives there. Works out well for us to drive down, drop our dog at Mom's house and then proceed to the Port.

New pictures of the Dream in the D23 magazine. Looks Awesome. Can't wait for tomorrow for the official annoucements on the ship:yay:

Sunny and warm again today!!

I could live in Florida, it is cool and rainy here today. I will have to head to St Augustine one of these trips.

Less than 2 weeks till I leave for Miami, I was telling my oldest daughter last night that I wish I was going to WDW instead. I am starting to get that urge to go and we did not go to the parks last trip to Florida. This cruise I am going on keeps going down in price that even if I cancel now the penalty would be less than $100 but I cannot find any reasonable price car rentals to get me from Miami to Orlando so I will stick with the Original plans, looking forward to Key West.

It will be great to get some more information on the Dream, I hope it is not too nice as I have a feeling it will be expensive that first year.

Good Morning

Hi Deb! Be sure to ask if you have any more questions before you come here . . . :goodvibes

Showed the girls the pictures of the Dream that were posted, and they are excited by them. The slide write up seemed to scare them, hope they have a tamer slide also.

Yesterday was my youngest daughters birthdayprincess:, she is now 7, how do they grow up so fast.:scared1:

I had been in Birmingham long times ago for shopping and met friends...

weather is stupid again... I went to Aberdeen yesterday for last meeting for New York (usual cold in Aberdeen) but turn out warm unbelieveable for October!!

I have been in New York for my 40th with my husband and that was in February... Oh it was so freezing and snowing... we loved it

this time 6 ladies as 2 of us had been and 4 as their first times as they are exciting...

Scottishwee35

So what are everyones take on the new Dream? I did not think it was anything exciting and new and I hope that they are holding back some "wow".
I like the virtual windows on the inside rooms but I am sure that will now make inside rooms close to the same price as Oceanview.

I am sure it will be popular and expensive though and if RCL impresses me in 10 days, I will be tempted to book future cruises on RCL.

Safe Treat or treating to all of you with kids heading out tomorrow. Halloween I think has become almost as big as Christmas, the girls have had some special event every day this week, and I am sure there will be enough candy for ages, I just threw away left overs for last Halloween recently.

Happy Birthday to your DD. They certainly do seem to grow up fast!

The Dream looks good. Just waiting for the pricing to come out to give us an idea which year we'll be cruising on her! Depending on how quick we can re-mortgage the house!!!!:rotfl2:

What a great picture of your daughter, I am sure that she had a great time. My girls had so much fun, but were exhausted when they came home.

Lisa

Super picture of your DD. Hope she had a super time.
We seemed to have a trial run for Bonfire Night here! Too many fireworks! And the went on until midnight! Love to see all the children in their costumes though!

Looks like we will miss the chance to tour Buckingham Palace as of the just released dates.

Opening hours

The Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will be 1 August - 28 September 2010. Further dates may be added.

They may add a few more dates. It all depends when the Royal Family are in Balmoral. I notice there is no picture of HM tea tray! :lmao: Apparantly made of plastic! Here is a link
