July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Any runners on board? I'm in the middle of marathon training and I'll be hitting deck 4 to run here and there. 3 laps to a mile (or 1.6 km if you prefer).

See you all soon!

I'm a runner (of sorts - half-marathon training only for me!) but usually prefer the treadmill to loops on deck 4. Are you training for the Twin Cities or Chicago marathon by chance? :)

Not a runner, we will maybe manage a gentle jog though.. I do intend to try the fitness room out this cruise as well.

Hello All,
We took this cruise in June going the other direction. You will love it! A couple of hints...
The beach in Cadiz is great. If you take the tour bus there, I believe we got off at stop 7 to go on the beach. Head back to the ship 2 hours before it leaves. It took us 40 minutes to catch the tour bus back to the ship and then frantically had to sit through the tour to barley make it back. We never saw any cabs come by either. If I had to do it over, I would hire a cab off the ship and arrange a pick up.

In Lisbon there is a metro station right outside the terminal gates. I cannot remember the name. There will also be a free bus to take you to the city center. Do not let the supposed missionaries give you a "free" necklace. Yikes! If you get off the Oriente station to go to the Oceanarium, head right. There are not very many signs. The walk was longer than expected but doable. Buy the kids icecream for the walk back.

Have an awesome time, wish I was there!

Oh thank you for your information....I will keep note of it....

What about Gilbrator? Have you been there?

I have been booking with dcl and I am thinking to cancel it and do it on own?

DH was in London yesterday and he said it was boiling! very 'muggy' and close...but hot!
we where camping just north of London 2 weeks ago...and it was 34 degrees.. Quite unpleasant to be honest. that kind of heat and nylon canvas not a good combinataion:headache:

btw...are we meeting at 3 pm in the promanade lounge next Friday? Coz we might be 'competeing' for bar service with the DIBB...:cutie::cutie:
and some of us with feet in both camps ,as it where , will need 2 drinks..one for each 'group':thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. Is the beach in Cadiz within reasonable walking distance of the port?? Looking at the map it does not seem a very big place but I could be wrong on that. It will just be myself and DBF and we wouldnt mind taking a stroll through the town to the beach providing it is not going take like 2 hours or something to get there!!

For anyone hoping for an upgrade at the port, I emailed my TA to find out if there are any upgrade offers to balcony cabin and they came back to say that there are no balcony cabins left on this cruise but to check at the port in case of any cancellations.

I ran Chicago last year--It's a great race. I'm running the Milwaukee marathon this year in Oct. It's a nice small marathon (less than 2000 people) and it's pretty flat. I haven't run the Twins Cities yet, but hear it is a good one to do!

I am sure we can play nice:lmao: but who will have the best accent, English, Canadian, Irish, Scottish, Belgian or the American(sorry if I missed any)? My oldest is amazed that people will think she has an accent:laughing:.
