July 28, 2007 - Romeancing the Mouse in the Med Cruise Reunion thread!

Ok, this is killing me, my DH doesn't want to do two back to back in summer......plus, if the kids do come, they'll have to do the July 18th due to school schedules (if they can make it at all), I like some of the 8 day ports but the northern Europe ports look like too good to be true to see so many ports on one trip (and countries), ideally doing both would be too crazy cool....I guess I could book and decide later......or probably do the July 18th or the July 30th? :scared: :scared: :scared: TG, we have to time to think about all this!

Yes Cpt Lucky! You have to go! Just book and cancel later. If you get the 1/2 off deposit you can always apply any cancellations to another cruise and have that much less to pay off.

That's what I say about the ports. Imagine those ports! I hope they don't cancel any.

Go JoAnn - Go

I know, those ports are killing me, the first idea I had was to do b-t-b July 18/30.....what an amazing adventure.......this is impossible! I'm really more curious about the southern ones but.......when else can I do those northern ones????

You know what, my youngest DD will probably have to go back to Drexel U during that second cruise and I can't not help her move in.........so, probably July 18th is my only choice..........:cool1:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I think that's the one which will work best for us.......now, do you think my kids can possibly go in 2 years

what are the odds....... :dance3:

If they are anything like mine - the girls looked at me and said - No brainer mom - where you decide to go is exactly where we want to go. Guess I taught them travellust a bit too well. If you girls can get the time off - believe you me - they'll go. :lmao:

'sides - our girls can celebrate their birthdates together - July 20th!

Everyone, just book what you think you might do and put everyone on the reservation that you think might go and sort out the details closer to time!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My TA is also offering some nice OBC to sweeten the deal:thumbsup2

Yes, that's another issue, the oldest has to go, it's her bday and she wants to (but for all I know, she could be engaged or something.......she's been with her BF for like three years and they just moved to Brooklyn this week), the youngest will probably go, no problem, but the middle one should be doing a clinic that year for physical therapy and she might not be off in the middle of the summer (but maybe she could work around those dates?) There's no way of knowing, she hasn't even applied yet.......I have no idea how that works and I think the second summer is the tough one........:confused3 It would be a mess, if she couldn't go. :scared1:

Yea, I know........last summer my second was in Rome for 7 weeks, she went to Barcelona, Paris, Cinque Terre, Florence, Venice, London........seriously, who I am kidding, WE HAVE TO DO THIS!

I am already waitlisted, I just have to call and confirm tomorrow. I have to check on the OBC as well.......... :cloud9:

You know, WHERE THE HECK IS ANDREW? I've read on other threads that he's been on all day, where's his two cents??:goodvibes :surfweb:

Well, at the moment I am sure he is asleep, and earlier today he was busy being the wise man on the main board . . . we'll lure him back, although I am pretty sure he was going to book the last Baltic and the 8 night repo.

Yes, I saw his comments over there, he did do a pretty good job calling this one........thx Andrew!!!:thumbsup2 I'm still thinking of booking that REPO.....

JoAnn & Laura,

You just have to book the 18th!!!!!!! Someone already started a thread for the 18th. Sallie spoke with Izzi and she & Paul are seriously looking at the 18th. So many of us will be on this one. I figure that Disney is probably going to be in Europe with the new ships and the itineraries will probably be similar to what they're offering in 2010, so you can do the repo another time. Plus 12 nights would be heavenly. 7 or 8 nights just too short.

Come on guys. You know you want to...................

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I'm so gutted

I even contacted my teaching union today to ask about taking unpaid leave - I can't do that either

The stupid thing is I only work 2.5 days a week anyhow.

If I wasn't so honest I'd take a sickie, but I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt.

Not sure if I am going to book any disney cruise in 2010 as I just know it wont be as good as with you guys

Hi I spoke to Izzi this morning- she has the same problem with school as all our Britt Friends do, but she is booking it and will see as it gets closer. :confused3
Helen- come on - 2 sick days- thats totally acceptable in my book, and I really dont take advantage of my days like that, but I would for this cruise- you have to come !!:worship: :worship:
Laura/Joann- you will not have fun without us- JULY 18TH!!!!!!:thumbsup2
Julie!! Thanks for the travel agent!!

Hello Everyone
School does rather get in the way.... however I'm booking the 18th and seeing what I can do about getting leave that week.
I floated this idea with some of my staff and they were all for it so we'll see. In the UK we get 5 teacher days which are holidays for the kids and workdays for us, I've suggested we add a week to our summer holiday in 2010 and work 5 saturdays instead, It went down very well with the staff I asked, you know there have to be perks to all the responsibility of being principal and I think I may have just found one!!!!!!! I need to get it by the governors and officially sanctioned but I think it could be a goer so see you on board!!!!!

Just dreaming but If I won the lottery how cool would 3 back to backs be Baltic dover to Barcelona then the med!!!! :yay:

Helen would you only have to take 2 sick days to come with us????? Even me, who has probably taken 3 total sick days my whole teaching career and that was because I had strep throat and they said I had to be out (plus my broken foot which I lost 2 days and went in for 8 weeks on crutches and went up and down the stairs once a day on my backside - no kidding) would take the days .

Seriously, Helen. One of my dear friends had an opportunity to go with her husband to Egypt but it was during the school year so she turned it down. 25 yrs. later she says it was her biggest regret as she could have brought so much more to the children she's taught since just for missing 1 week. Not to guilt you into this Helen, but sometimes it's just worth it. Think about it.

Hmmmmm can you put me on secondment?

If I ask my headteacher about this now and she says no she will remember about it if I dont turn in that week hmmm

Now if you guys were getting married on board the ship I would have a legit reason to be on board as ask for leave

Lynn can you write me a note - or failing that can you suggest something am I allowed to ask for unpaid leave for personel circumstances and not speciofiy the circumstances?
